Chapter 3

ผู้เขียน: Cocojam
Seeing me agree so easily, without a single tear or tantrum, everyone froze.

Especially Blake. He stared at me with wide eyes, as if he couldn't process it.

Clara urged me with fake sweetness, "Sister, pick a new guard quickly, so the binding ceremony can continue."

The smug satisfaction on her face was impossible to miss.

I ignored her. My gaze swept slowly across the crowd.

Finally, it landed on a silent figure watching this whole charade from the shadows.

"I choose him."

The crowd followed my gaze to Ronan, standing quietly at the back.

We grew up together. He is three years older than me, a true warrior of the pack who earned great honor in the Blood Moon War.

But lately, whispers spread that he was weak. He never showed his wolf soul in public. Some mocked him, claiming his wolf had gone dormant, which was why he never joined the monthly pack hunts.

But I knew they were wrong.

In my past life, just before I died, it was Ronan who fought tooth and nail to save me.

That's when I saw his true form. A massive, silver-white wolf with eyes burning blood-red with fury. The raw power radiating from him was terrifying.

"Ronan," I asked. "Are you willing?"

The crowd gasped again.

"Is Aurora insane? Choosing Ronan?"

"That quiet freak?"

"I heard his wolf is dead... He hasn't shifted since the war."

Whispers echoed through the hall.

Ronan paused for a heartbeat, then walked straight through the crowd without hesitation.

People parted for him. His strides were firm. His eyes were fixed only on me.

He stopped in front of me and offered his strong, calloused hand. His gaze was impossibly tender.

I took his hand, feeling its warmth seep into my skin.

"Princess, of course I am willing," his voice rang out, loud and clear. "I, Ronan Gray, swear to the Moon Goddess. I will serve and protect Aurora Redfern with my life and soul. I will never betray you, until my dying breath."

As he finished, a beam of moonlight pierced the crystal skylight, falling directly onto our joined hands.

It was as if the Moon Goddess herself was blessing our vow.

The hall fell silent.

A wave of warmth spread through my chest. In two lifetimes, Ronan was the first—and only—one to choose me without a moment's hesitation.

I couldn't help but smile.

The moment was ruined by Blake's sneer. "How touching. Too bad you chose a brute, Aurora. He's just muscle. Utterly useless for your future."

Ronan’s muscles instantly tensed. I could feel the anger rolling off him.

But he didn't move. He just looked at me, waiting for my command.

I gave his arm a gentle squeeze, a silent order to stand down. Then, I turned slowly to face Blake, a cold smirk on my lips.

"A brute?" I repeated softly. "Blake, you are just a rogue. What gives you the right to judge a war hero?"

The color drained from Blake's face.

Looking at his twisted expression, I knew we were done.

In my past life, I hadn't debased myself for nothing. I had passed over strong pack warriors and chosen a rogue only because he'd saved my life in the Shadow Forest.

Now, for a taste of power, he tore me down to ally with my sister. I owed him nothing.

I made my stance clear to the entire pack.

I looked around, my voice loud and firm:

"From this day on, Ronan is my guard. Anyone who messes with him, messes with me."

My eyes swept over every face. The pack members, stunned by my sudden dominance, quickly looked away.

Even my father froze, shocked that his meek little girl had found her claws.

Blake just scoffed. "As long as the Princess is happy."

Ronan gently tugged my sleeve.

I turned to him. His eyes were rimmed with red, his gaze burning with an intensity that felt like a brand on my skin. He looked like a loyal hound, ready to die for his master.

He leaned in and whispered in my ear, "I'm always here."

In that instant, my wolf stirred restlessly.

A flutter deep in my chest... a feeling I had never known before.

Shhhhk. The silver dagger plunged deeply into my chest. Blood spilled from my lips.Father walked up to me, his face full of disappointment and apathy. "If you had just handed the power to Clara, I wouldn't have lowered the shields and let the enemies in." His tone was as cold as ice. "Their deaths are on your hands because you were stubborn."Clara twisted the blade, a crazy glint in her eyes. "Even Blake regretted choosing me! So I threw him to the invading ferals as meat! He can go to hell first and pave the way for you!"She twisted it deeper, making me tremble in pain. "Aurora, you have to die! Only when you're dead can I truly have it all!"The howls of feral rogues and the screams of my pack echoed in my ears. The whole manor was in hellish chaos. But I felt no fear.Looking at the silver dagger buried deep in my chest, I used my last bit of strength to laugh. "Hahaha... Alistair," I choked out, smiling bloodily at my father. "Did you really think your dark magic could seal my

Blake eventually crawled back to Clara. Over the next few days, my father sent people to "invite" me to the ceremony hall. All the important pack members were there. The elders sat on the high platform, and the pack formed a circle. Father stood in the center, wearing a fake, fatherly smile."Pack members, I called you all here today for something important." He cleared his throat. "First, I want to apologize to my daughter, Aurora, for my past actions."He turned to me and bowed deeply. "Aurora, I was wrong. I shouldn't have played favorites, and I shouldn't have ignored your feelings."Whispers rippled through the crowd. The pack looked shocked. Then, Clara stepped out. She lowered her usually arrogant head, her voice choking up. "Sister, I need to apologize to you too. I was jealous of your gift and did many horrible things to you. Please forgive me."Great acting. I watched the father-daughter duo's performance coldly. All I felt was disgust. After her "sincere" apology, Clara c

Blake looked even older and more haggard than yesterday. Having lost his wolf, he was no longer a werewolf, just an ordinary human. His face was covered in fresh cuts. His left eye was bruised and swollen, and blood stained his mouth. He smelled sharply of blood and decay.Seeing us, he crawled over, his eyes filled with despair and pleading. "Aurora!" His voice was raspy and broken. "Please save me! I know I was wrong!"Ronan stepped in front of me immediately. His eyes burned with fury, and a low, dominant Alpha growl rumbled from his throat. His powerful aura crushed Blake flat on the ground. "You have the nerve to show your face here?"Blake completely ignored Ronan's death glare. Fighting the pressure, he kept begging me, "I regret it, I really do! Alistair and Clara don't even treat me like a human anymore!"He started crying about what happened last night. It turned out my father didn't dare cross me, so he took all his anger out on the powerless Blake. He was locked in the d

Late at night, I leaned against the lake behind the pack manor alone. The water shimmered under the moonlight. The night breeze carried a faint floral scent, calming my mind.Everything today felt like an absurd play. My father's bias, Clara's madness, Blake's betrayal... I thought I'd be angry or in pain, but I felt surprisingly peaceful. Maybe ripping off everyone's hypocritical masks was actually a relief.Warm arms wrapped around me from behind. Ronan, back in his human form, rested his chin gently on my shoulder. His scent instantly relaxed me."What are you thinking about?" His voice was soft, laced with worry.I leaned back into his chest, feeling his steady heartbeat. "I'm thinking about why, after all these years, it's always been you."Growing up, the one truly by my side was never my father, Clara, or Blake. It was this quiet childhood friend.Ronan didn't answer right away. Instead, he sent flashes of memory through our mate bond. The scenes unfolded in my mind. When we

I looked at Blake's familiar face, hot tears rolling down my cheeks. I truly felt sorry for my past-life stupidity."Wouldn't have what?" I wiped my tears, my voice turning ice-cold. "Wouldn't have stabbed that silver dagger into my heart while I was three months pregnant, just for Clara?!"Blake's face turned ashen."Did you think I didn't know? Blake, I never hid anything." I stepped closer to him. "Yes, I could never be the pack's heir. But if we mated, and you were truly loyal to me, your wolf would have been reborn when our powers peaked.""Our pup would have inherited my Moon Goddess blessing. They would have been stronger than any Alpha!"Blake's eyes widened. His body shook violently. Extreme regret filled his eyes."But you chose power." My voice was a deadly whisper. "You worshipped power. You thought I was worthless! You killed me and our unborn pup just to share Clara's stolen power!""Do you know why you reincarnated with me?" I sneered. "Because when I died, the Moon Godd

Dead silence.Everyone stared at me. Their eyes were full of shock and confusion. My father froze for a second, then exploded. "Aurora! What nonsense are you spouting!"His voice boomed like thunder. His deadly Alpha aura erupted, pressing straight down on me with murderous intent."Kneel!"The immense pressure made my knees buckle, but I forced myself to stand. My father's eyes burned with murderous fury. "Aurora, you are a disgrace! Today, I will teach you a lesson on behalf of your mother!"He lunged, swiping his massive claws directly at my face with deadly speed.Blake stood on the sidelines, suddenly looking anxious. "Aurora, apologize to your father! Stop acting crazy!" But when the attack actually came, he dodged away instantly, afraid of getting caught in the crossfire.Just as the blow was about to hit my face, a figure stepped in front of me.It was Ronan.Ugh! Ronan took the Alpha's full strike with his own body.Blood poured from his mouth, but he didn't take a single ste
