Chapter 8
Jayden POV
Jace came right at the time, and it was such a delight.
For a very long time, I've been thinking about how to fulfill this very dream of mine.
The dreams on how to turn those pictures into reality and that was with Jace.
"Who would we be having it with?"Jace questioned.
I whistled, snapping my fingers.
She walked in, the maid with the burnt scar on her face.
"Her?"Jace slurred, rolling his eyes at me in dissatisfaction.
"Relax!"I cooed, tapping him on his shoulder.
"Take this book and do exactly what' you saw within."
I could read the displeasure on her face but she was nothing important for me to behold.
"Now!"
"I should get going." Jace opined, rushing out of my chamber before I could even utter a word.
I was enraged at his act, hence tends to unleash my anger by taking that girl into bondage.
I beat her to a stupor, dragging her off the rough linoleum not minding if she die or not.
"I'll have to lure him into a trap!"

The next day...
I was summoned to the Eastern palace by my mother.
In the chamber was my mother seated, my sisters, and a maid who was fanning my mom.
There were varieties of ornaments, golds, and jades lying on the floor. They were such a great sight to behold.
Upon taking me into recognition, my mother arose from her sitting position, with her lips curling up into a wide curve, she sauntered over to my side, pulling me into a tight hug.
"Oh, Jayden, "Her soft palms clasped below my chin, her beautiful eyes glistened, her appearance was dulcet, her hands slowly glided from my chin down to my shoulder, and she gave me a light tap.
"Come have a seat."She ushered, leading the way.
"Jayden, "Those were my sister's voices, they were all flashing waves of sweet smiles at me.
"You all seem to be effervescent, perhaps the motives could be shared with me."I conjecture, with the tip of my index finger being lifted in the air.
They all busted into am uproarious laughter, each clasping their hands to their bosom.
"There's nothing special going on, of course. We are just present here to discuss on your behalf."
"My behalf?"I was taken aback by their word, I repeated their word.
"Yes." Ella chimed, heightening her back.
"The Alpha King centenary celebration is five days ahead, so you haven't gotten a gift. We are situated here currently to help you in choosing what should be your present to him." Irene spoke, chesting out.
I had this smug smile curled on my face.
"Hmm...hmm..."I slurred, ensconcing myself in a wooden chair.
"So what's your spec?"I inquired with my wide stare eyes.
"I suggested you presented a diagram like an art piece to the Alpha King, but Ella said; it isn't appropriate. So," She twitched her lips, alongside her face which was pulled into a state of distaste.
I knitted my brow in anticipation of her word. It was already eminent, due to the tone of her voice, and the expressions on her face that whatsoever she will utter in the next few seconds will not sit right with me.
"So, I decided to keep my mouth shut while Ella and Mom help you find something to do."
My gaze darted towards my mom's side, and also Ella's.
Ella let out a sarcastic chuckle before turning to face my mother. If there's anyone to be compared to my mother in terms of beauty in the whole of the Australian kingdom, it should be Ella, she not only inherit her beauty but also her mom's genetic traits.
They have the same complexion, stature, manner of speaking, smiling, and beautiful face.
If only she had not been my sister, I would have gotten engaged to her for a very long time.
"Irene suggested you took an art diagram to the Alpha King on his birthday?"She emphasized the last words, with a knitted brow, the sarcasm in her tone was eminent.
"That sounds funny and childish, I'd rather suggest you present a diadem stocked and laced with diamonds and little pieces of precious stones. I think this sounds better than..."
"You all spouting rubbish, and I would bid myself goodbye."Irene sprung from her position, shooting us a look filled with resentment, without uttering a word, she stormed out of the room we were in.
After her exit, my mother continued, after a minute's silence, clearing her throat.
"I have the best poetic in the kingdom at the brisk of my finger," She gloated with a lot of confidence, swaying her shoulder gingerly in the air.
"What business does the king's birthday celebration have to do with a poetic?" I inquired in a distasteful tone, trying not to show how displease and disappointed I was.
"He's an old Man, a mighty man in battle, oldest in the whole of the kingdom, what gifts could you present to such an old man that he will value if not but poems which should be written in his praise, it should entail about his good side, and battles he had won."
"Mother, even you?" I gawped at her, feeling disoriented.
"Your ideas sound really good but not germane enough."
"I'll rather prepare a yacht, I have the people involved in the building almost rounding up."
"You should listen to me!"Cried my mother, gazing at me with a troubled countenance.
I never heed the remainder of her words, as my legs were already hauled towards the door and out of her chamber.
What a twerps?
My mother must be silly to have suggested; we hired a poetic.
What fuckin poems?
I need to get my head cleared up. Once I become the Alpha King, I'll home arrest her.

I bumped into someone coincidentally. When I behold, it was one among the filthy maids in the palace who I detest with so much hate.
The one with the scar on her face, the one whom Selene had commanded to be my mate.
My gaze burned into her, and she panicked, moving abreast.
A slight grin appeared on my face, as a silly idea crept into my head.
What fun would this be?
Chapter 77Jace povA low growl tugged at my throat. My beast were threatening to rise to the surface. “Kill her!” Its voice rumbled in my ears and filled my head.Kill her?Does it mean the person I’ve been fighting with was a female? No way I’d throw my punch if actually she’s a woman. As my opponent lunged forth to kick me, I grabbed the leg and swirled it until I heard it, her soft scream.I let go, but pinned her against the floor. My lips a few inches away from her. Those tiny eyes peeled out of the open space of her mask. Her scent wafted my nose and gosh, I feel so irritated at the moment not that she was stinking but at the realization that it was Mia.“Fucking bitch!” I muttered under my breath. Rolling off her while she took off her mask and grinned at me hardly.“Don’t tell me you’re so weak in martial combat?”“I wasn’t allow to practice martial art or any form of fighting. I was forbidden from doing so.” I pushed myself up from the floor.“So in case you’re being attack
Chapter 76Jace POVIt’s past five days and from the report I’ve gotten. Haggai hadn’t step a foot out of his house, or make a suspicious movement.I had volunteered this night to spy on this house and checked if there was any hidden tunnel or a sewage pass, supposing he’d been sneaking through.Mia wanted to accompany me, but hell no I allowed that noisy leech follow me around.I’m convinced I’d utter words to shatter her morale supposed she sticks around me. I can’t fathom why I do that all the time.Deliberately, taunting her with her past mistake. Believe me when I said, I fight all the time to resist the urge to taunt her with those silly mistakes. For the last three days, I’ve been frequenting this library as if I was coming to read. I’d choose the upstairs, and tossed some reasonable coins in the chief guard hands who’d lead me to a private room.I’d ensure it was at the last floor, cause the library was a three storey building. A old monastery library that was named after the
Chapter 75Jace povMia drew in a deep breath. “It’s fine.” Came her swift response, and the rolling of her eyes.“I’m not joking.” I snarled.Lips flat, she shrugged her shoulders before nodding her head.“I’ve never been hapless and rejected in life not until I met you, Jace.” Thick silence hung in the air at her last words. She eased herself in her chair, and smoothened her hair. “I just hope one day I did find someone who will find me worthy of their unending love, who will be so obsessed with me.”She puffed out some air.My fingers tapped on the table, as I nodded. “I’m sure you gonna find it one day but definitely not me. I sucked at loving and being obsessed.”Her eyes widened at me, a small chuckle and twisting of her heart shaped lips. Mia lips parted as if she was going to utter some words, but threw her hands in the air unable to form the words.“You okay?” I raised my brow at her.“Sure!” she nodded and heightened her shoulders.I checked her out, patiently waiting for her
Chapter 74Jace povSitting on the bed, watching her sleep was the best that ever happened to me. Her cherry-full lips, and morbid eyes. My Fingers unwillingly trailed every line on her face. Her face was pale but proud.Suddenly, a shadow passed across her forehead, and her eyes peeled open. She blinked, perhaps trying to adjust to the light in the room. When our gaze got honed, she frowned and her cheeks turned red.She tried to flinch but I pressed her hands down. She rolled her eyes at me in askance. My expression was unreadable. But I stared her down not batting an eye.Ann tried to remove her hands from my weight, and I released the pressure I had exerted on her hands a few seconds ago,My wolf growled, and my eyes flashed dark the moment she flinched away from my side. Was she scared of me? But why!She tried to push herself up from the bed, but a wince escaped her lips.I guessed her body was heavy for her to move cause I was behind it. Recently, I just realized that I could
Chapter 73Jace povMy hands clenched behind my back even when trying to act strong and nonchalant. My mother was not getting any better. Each day her sickness got worse. A lot of physicians have predicted different kinds of poison and potion but none seems to be correct. Now, this last physician was gotten by Mia. I don't know how she managed to convince him to be on our side because many elites, or the better and more skilled among all professions, disassociate themselves from us. They are always seen romancing Madam Jessica and Jayden because they feel like Jayden is definitely going to be the king.“This physician mentioned about Jute poison. The poison was being extracted from its pod seed and…” I sucked in a deep breath, smoothening the back of my robe with my clammy hands. “The physician mentioned not knowing the antidote but Mia pulled me into a corner and mentioned that she knows of a way to get the antidote.”I had asked her. “Won’t she die before we can even find the antido
Chapter 72Jayden pov"No! This can't be happening?" I gritted my teeth in rage. "No!" my scream rang, and tension shook everywhere. But no one was paying attention to me. They were all scurrying, fighting for their survival while they left me behind with my mother. Even my uncle was no one to be found.' Coward!' I cursed Inwardly at my uncle.Everything happens so fast and just now, one of the assassins stood a few inches away from me and my mother, setting his bow and arrows. Confidently, this person posed, dragging the arrows backward, targeting my mother.I sprang up, throwing myself up in the air to block the arrow. Fortunately, the arrows slightly slipped through my ears.Rage swelled within me the moment I saw that assassin preparing another arrow, I stared back at my mother, pushed my two fingers at her then ti my forehead in respect before attempting to run after the assassins. The assassin never ran as he still posed with the arrows in his grasp, he didn't let go of the ar
