Chapter 13

Maya's POV.

My wolf refused to keep me warm all through the chilly night.

My cell wasn't big. It was a space so small, if I stretched both my hands forward, the rest of my body wouldn't move, but in that small space, I felt like I was exposed to a million air conditioners fixed on my face.

Melissa was still mad at me.

She blamed me for everything. “If you had not said that to him in the first place, we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.”

“I admit, I made a mistake, can we move past it?”

But she wouldn't. Melissa stirred within me when I was tossed into the dungeon at first, that was three hours ago, now, we were both dying from the cold and if I didn't shift, I was sure I’d die before morning.

“Please.”

“Melissa please.”

“Melissa!!”

My whispers echoed sharply in my lonely cell room and then vanished, the silence renewing its suppression immediately.
