Williams POV
"Age has not caught up with you one single bit Williams." Logan said, the moment I entered the council. "What are you doing here Logan?" "Isn't my brother happy to see me?" He asked with a smirk on his face. "Don't you dare speak of me as your brother again. I am no brother to a disgrace like you." I responded and he laughed like a maniac. "Do you think I care what you think about me?" He asked. "Anyway, that discussion would be for some other days. I demand to know why my lands are being forcefully taken away from me." "You don't have a land here Logan. You are a rogue and so are the pathetic people you call minions." "They are not minions, they are people that your stupid Alphas have sent out of their pack. I am their leader and they look up to me." I stared at him for a moment and slowly made my way down from the throne to meet him. "What happened to you Logan? You were never like this. As brothers we used to travel the world, enjoy the brightest view, go to the greatest parties. We are now strangers and worse of all enemies." "You became my enemy the moment you supported father in is decision to hand over the throne to you. We both know that I am the legitimate son of father and you are the son of a whore that he slept with on one of his random nights." I chose to remain calm because I have heard a whole lot from Logan. "I understand hate for my mother, but what makes you even think for a split second that you are fit to be king. I would really like to know what you have done for this kingdom before you created your own path and started calling yourself King of the Rogues." He remained silent. "You never went with father for all council meetings. Indeed we had a good time, but when it comes to my work, we both know that I try as much as I can to be committed, while you keep up with your lazy attitudes." The silence that now took over was a tensed one and I could see that my hard hitting truth has really struck a nerve inside of him. "You address everything else but the main point; I am supposed to be the Alpha King and father flaunted the ancient rules of the pack to put you in this position. I want you to have it at the back of your mind brother, when the time is right people would see you for what you truly are...." He paused and from his eyes, I could tell what he was about to say. My wolf was eager to take over before those words would leave his lips. "People would see that you are the son of a whore!" He screamed the word in my face and my claws came out. He also had his claws out and the tension in the room became beyond palpable. I did not want to make the first move. I did not want to make any move at all because I knew the implications. "I would let your words slide for today. I want you to get out of my mansion and my pack. If I ever see you or your rogues on sight, I promise to wipe every single one of you from existence." "There is nothing you can do because we both know that even though you have a powerful wolf living inside of you, the Alpha King is no experienced war lord." He finished off and walked out of the council. I returned back to my throne and take my seat, contemplating on the words that has just been thrown around by me. Logan is known for playing mind games and getting reactions out of people, I am certain he has gotten the reaction he needs from me. "You look disturbed Alpha." I turned around and Justin stood by the door. "Logan is becoming a very big problem to me." "I think it is time you declare the war on all rogues. We cannot have these menace disrupting the peace of the kingdom. Everyone is looking up to you." Justin revealed, after he had stepped forward to face me. "Defeating Logan and his minions is not as easy as you will make it sound. If I take any actions now Logan will see reasons to ascend the throne." I explained to him. "But that is not true. None of the Alphas would accept Logan as the Alpha King." "Logan doesn't need their support. He can make himself King even when the people don't want it." There was a brief silence, before Justin cleared his throat. "I think it's time to start rallying every pack soldiers across all the packs and start preparing for war. I have seen what you can do with your wolf my King. Your wolf is called the pet of the moon goddess for a reason. He has the strength to engage in combat and win easily." He explains. "Justin, I will find another way out of this situation." From my tone he could tell that I did not want to talk about it again. "By the way I asked you to watch over the Luna." "She is reading a book in the library." The door opened and Derek entered the room and from his breath I could tell that something was wrong. "The library is in flames." "Maya!" I said in realization and rushed out of the council, following Derek till we arrived at the library section. The soldiers were trying to put out the fire when we arrived. "Where is Maya?" I asked, growling at Derek. "She is inside the flames." He shoved him aside and walked towards Justin, pinning him to the wall, as I allowed my wolf to take over. "I asked you to take care of her." He was struggling to breath but I could care less because I want to kill him. "My King look," I turned around to the burning library and stare in disbelief as Maya walks out of the fire alive and without a single bruise. "Impossible." I said in disbelief.Maya's POV.“What are you…what are—The words stopped midway, my throat tightened, I could barely breathe. My knees buckled and my vision, it blurred for a second.“Why?” I managed to whisper.*What do you mean by “why?” Sarah rolled off the bed. Her heels clicked gently as she swayed her hips gently, her walk seductive and slow. The lingerie she wore was made of red lace everywhere except for the nipples that were marked by a bold ‘X’Sarah’s thighs were bare, her cleavage deep and exposed, her hair flying free and lush on her shoulders. She had on her lips a red cherry lipstain with a bright smile.“I came to see you.”“W-what do you mean you came to see me?” My lips quivered, fear dancing through my body.Sarah stopped right in front of me, her shoulders did a little dance forward like she was trying to show me her boobs. She dangled them long enough to her satisfaction before she stopped and then laughed.“I can't believe you actually thought I would be leaving you. I told you, I
Maya's POV“That's the reason why you and the alpha couldn't have mates. You were meant to be together. You both are meant for a greater cause.”The seer's words kept repeating over and over in my head, echoing in my memory.“Greater cause.” I scoffed. “Greater cause and he brought a woman here.”The gossip from the maids didn't add to what I already knew.Whoever the guest was, ‘it’ was a ‘she’. She was not related to the alpha and he was having her stay in his room.“This is all your fault.” My wolf, Melissa warned me, but I paid her no mind. For all I knew, I did nothing wrong but test the alpha's commitment to me. “I am not about to throw myself into the arms of another man and get rejected again.”“You pushed him away and bruised his ego, of course he's going to reject you.”Her words became too loud, they drowned out my confidence and invoked more fear in me.“I'm sure I have nothing to do with this.” I affirmed my stance, my fist tight as my fingernails dug deep into my palm.
Maya's POV.“A joke?” The alpha got in front of me on our way out of his living room.“A joke? Is that seriously all you have to say?”I swallowed hard, greasing my parched throat for the rest of the words to come.“Yes.”“Why?”‘Tell him it's because you have trust issues.’ Melissa whispered in my thoughts. ‘Tell him it's because you were rejected before.’I moved my lips to speak but the words rolled to the back of my throat.“Speak!” Alpha William grew impatient.“The seer says we were destined for each other. Do you really believe in that nonsense?”“Nonsense?” He raised an eyebrow. “You call that nonsense?”My stomach sank. My words weren't intended to be as deep as he was taking them.“No one was made for another. Werewolves don't have soulmates.” I answered.“The seer is trying to fool us.”Alpha William looked at me one last time before he nodded and walked away.I watched as he continued, not a single glance at me until he was at his door, then, with a sharp pull at his doork
Alpha William’s POV.“Give it to me straight. What is wrong with her?” I told the seer after I had made the guards take Maya to the next room.“What did you mean by ‘this is way beyond us’?”The seer, a fragile old woman whose physical appearance had been that way since I'd known her, stared at me straight in the eye before she looked away momentarily.“Nothing is wrong with her.”“Okay? So why did you say it is way beyond us.”She hesitated with an answer. “Her wolf… it's not regular.”The walls of my stomach tightened, “Is she cursed?”“No! Far from it. She's not cursed. She is just…just so…”Her words trailed off before she had the chance to complete them which made my anxiety skyrocket through the roof.I had no control of my body and had no idea when I grabbed her arm tightly, glaring at her. “Tell me!”With horror reflecting in her eyes, she parted her lips and the words came flowng down.“Her wolf is the strongest wolf I have ever seen.”Interesting.My grip on her arm loosened
Maya's POV.The alpha had not mentioned a single word of what had happened to me yet.All he did was ensure I had my clothes on and was properly invested in my bed before he left.I could see him from the side of my bathroom while I changed into my nightwear checking for marks on my bodies. Scars, burns, anything at all. He must have peeped over a thousand times before I called his name to ask if there was something wrong.“No. Nothing at all, get some sleep. Goodnight.” But then he left me and closed the door. The moment his footsteps disappeared into the silence hallway, I adjusted out of my bed and sat up straight.“Melissa.” I whispered. “Melissa, are you up?”“Hey Maya, what's up? What's going on?”“The coast is clear. We can talk now.”Before the fire started, Melissa stirred within me. She tumbled, scratched and howled inside of me.I thought of it as nothing, not until the fire blasted quickly and she took over my body without my control, shielding me off from the fire with a
Alpha Williams’ POV.It was minutes after I had just witnessed what was before me and yet, my mouth lips wouldn't join.“What in the hell…”Justin murmured from underneath me. It was his voice that dragged me out of being lost.I looked down to see he was still pinned on the ground, nearly strangled by my grip but his eyes were in the same direction like mine, confused by what he was seeing.Just as I was.I loosened my grip on him, letting go of his collar so I could stand up to approach Maya. The untouched Maya.“What…what happened?” I was still in shock as I approached her. My Luna, May was untouched by the engulfing fire that had now burnt my Library into ashes.Everything had been burnt to ashes but yet, Maya had looked like she had been hidden in a compartment somewhere, shielded from the furnace.Even her dress was untouched. The hair on her head was untouched, her skin was shining and her face, beautiful.I reached for her arms, turning it side to side, just to make sure but
