LOGINWilliams POV
"Age has not caught up with you one single bit Williams." Logan said, the moment I entered the council. "What are you doing here Logan?" "Isn't my brother happy to see me?" He asked with a smirk on his face. "Don't you dare speak of me as your brother again. I am no brother to a disgrace like you." I responded and he laughed like a maniac. "Do you think I care what you think about me?" He asked. "Anyway, that discussion would be for some other days. I demand to know why my lands are being forcefully taken away from me." "You don't have a land here Logan. You are a rogue and so are the pathetic people you call minions." "They are not minions, they are people that your stupid Alphas have sent out of their pack. I am their leader and they look up to me." I stared at him for a moment and slowly made my way down from the throne to meet him. "What happened to you Logan? You were never like this. As brothers we used to travel the world, enjoy the brightest view, go to the greatest parties. We are now strangers and worse of all enemies." "You became my enemy the moment you supported father in is decision to hand over the throne to you. We both know that I am the legitimate son of father and you are the son of a whore that he slept with on one of his random nights." I chose to remain calm because I have heard a whole lot from Logan. "I understand hate for my mother, but what makes you even think for a split second that you are fit to be king. I would really like to know what you have done for this kingdom before you created your own path and started calling yourself King of the Rogues." He remained silent. "You never went with father for all council meetings. Indeed we had a good time, but when it comes to my work, we both know that I try as much as I can to be committed, while you keep up with your lazy attitudes." The silence that now took over was a tensed one and I could see that my hard hitting truth has really struck a nerve inside of him. "You address everything else but the main point; I am supposed to be the Alpha King and father flaunted the ancient rules of the pack to put you in this position. I want you to have it at the back of your mind brother, when the time is right people would see you for what you truly are...." He paused and from his eyes, I could tell what he was about to say. My wolf was eager to take over before those words would leave his lips. "People would see that you are the son of a whore!" He screamed the word in my face and my claws came out. He also had his claws out and the tension in the room became beyond palpable. I did not want to make the first move. I did not want to make any move at all because I knew the implications. "I would let your words slide for today. I want you to get out of my mansion and my pack. If I ever see you or your rogues on sight, I promise to wipe every single one of you from existence." "There is nothing you can do because we both know that even though you have a powerful wolf living inside of you, the Alpha King is no experienced war lord." He finished off and walked out of the council. I returned back to my throne and take my seat, contemplating on the words that has just been thrown around by me. Logan is known for playing mind games and getting reactions out of people, I am certain he has gotten the reaction he needs from me. "You look disturbed Alpha." I turned around and Justin stood by the door. "Logan is becoming a very big problem to me." "I think it is time you declare the war on all rogues. We cannot have these menace disrupting the peace of the kingdom. Everyone is looking up to you." Justin revealed, after he had stepped forward to face me. "Defeating Logan and his minions is not as easy as you will make it sound. If I take any actions now Logan will see reasons to ascend the throne." I explained to him. "But that is not true. None of the Alphas would accept Logan as the Alpha King." "Logan doesn't need their support. He can make himself King even when the people don't want it." There was a brief silence, before Justin cleared his throat. "I think it's time to start rallying every pack soldiers across all the packs and start preparing for war. I have seen what you can do with your wolf my King. Your wolf is called the pet of the moon goddess for a reason. He has the strength to engage in combat and win easily." He explains. "Justin, I will find another way out of this situation." From my tone he could tell that I did not want to talk about it again. "By the way I asked you to watch over the Luna." "She is reading a book in the library." The door opened and Derek entered the room and from his breath I could tell that something was wrong. "The library is in flames." "Maya!" I said in realization and rushed out of the council, following Derek till we arrived at the library section. The soldiers were trying to put out the fire when we arrived. "Where is Maya?" I asked, growling at Derek. "She is inside the flames." He shoved him aside and walked towards Justin, pinning him to the wall, as I allowed my wolf to take over. "I asked you to take care of her." He was struggling to breath but I could care less because I want to kill him. "My King look," I turned around to the burning library and stare in disbelief as Maya walks out of the fire alive and without a single bruise. "Impossible." I said in disbelief.Maya’s Pov.Even I was curious to know who it was but the door slammed behind him, the echo still trembling through the walls long after Alpha Williams had gone.I sat there on the edge of the bed, still half breathless from our kiss, staring at the empty doorway, wondering what was going on.His scent—earth and smoke—hung heavy in the room. It always lingered after he left, like his presence refused to fade. That was my cue.*Follow him. He could be in danger.*Outside, voices rose—men shouting, the clanging of metal, the growl of wolves. Seeing this, my pulse quickened. What now?I wrapped a cloak around myself and followed the sound. The outside was alive with noise from chaos—guards shifting, weapons drawn. Williams stood at the center, his broad frame was rigid, eyes dark and facing him was a man I thought we were done with.Logan.His freaking brother. His hair was matted with dust and sweat, his eyes burning with fury and heartbreak. I got closer and noticed that every muscl
Alpha Williams POV.The night was burning with the smell of blood and mud after I finished beating the hell out of Thomas. All around me, the forest was a graveyard of broken bodies and trampled earth. The cries of dying men faded into the distance, replaced by the deep growls of wolves retreating.Thomas lay in the dirt before me, coughing, blood streaming from his mouth. He tried to crawl away, but I caught his leg and dragged him back with one hand.“You think you can run from this?” I said, my voice rough and low. “After everything you’ve done?”He groaned, barely able to speak. “Williams… I—”My fist met his jaw before he could finish. The crack echoed. He fell onto his back, gasping. My chest rose and fell like thunder, my breath filled with rage that had been building for years.“You killed my men,” I snarled, striking him again. “You burned villages. You made my mate bleed!”He spat blood and laughed weakly. “You would’ve done the same…”That laugh was all it took. I lost wha
Alpha Williams POVThe moon was just coming into the sky when my men returned. They brought good news, but along with the news, mud streaked on my gamma wolf’s face, his breath sharp and ragged, but the fire in his eyes was all I needed to see.“They’re there, Alpha,” he said, bowing low. “Thomas and the woman—Sarah. Camped by the northern riverbank, less than half a mile from the ridge. At least thirty men with them.”I didn’t waste a second. “Sound the call,” I ordered. “We move tonight.”Justin, already armed, caught my gaze across the campfire. No words were needed; he understood what this meant. For days, we’d been chasing ghosts—rumors of Thomas’s movements, scraps of scent trails gone cold. And now, finally, we had them cornered. As my men stirred into motion, I glanced over my shoulder toward the tent for Maya and I.The light inside told me Maya was still awake. She had wanted to come, of course—she always did—but I couldn’t risk it. Not this time. Not when her sister was
Sarah's POV.The plan was not coming as Thomas and I thought it would. There was too much conflict, too much drama and like Thomas pointed, too much ‘nagging.’The moment Thomas stormed out of the tent, silence swallowed everything. The fire blazing outside was the only noise I heard on the entire forest. That and the distance laughter of the maids and guards enjoying their rest.I laid where Thomas left me, staring at the tent’s ceiling, my mind a mess of anger and confusion.Everytime I tried to relax, Thomas' words kept coming back to me.“You're getting on my nerves, do you know that?!”Me?!The same woman he loved. The same one who almost died taking a blow for the both of us was the same one he called a nag.I clenched my jaw until it hurt.My fingers twitched a little, I was tickling to leave a little spell for his surprise but I refrained myself.Instead, I reached for the witches’ ointment and massaged the numbness away. The distraction helped for a while until his words ec
Thomas' POV.The air in our new hideout was heavy– thick with herbs, old wood and the faint scent of blood.A lot of the staff that agreed to follow us were tired, they protested for a little rest or they would turn back. I had no choice. We had to stop for a little. While they got comfortable enough to stretch their legs, Sarah and I set up tent somewhere north. The trees there were still, the bird too quiet. It made me uneasy.I paced back and forth inside the tent while Sarah laid on the bed. Her hair clung to her forehead with sweat. The witches had just finished rubbing some of green mixture on her legs. She groaned when one of the witches pressed too hard but didn't complain. For days, she’d been drifting out and in of that same pain but tonight, her eyes were sharper. “Stop pacing around, Thomas” she rasped, her voice low but commanding. “You're making me dizzy.”I turned to her, sighing. “You think I can sit still when I know they might be out there watching? That they have
Alpha Williams POV.Maya and I hadn't talked since the last encounter and I decided to give her space.I spent the evening in my room alone, resting like the healers and Doctor had said but my mind was far from peace.Eventually, I had a maid call my mate in. Just her presence alone was enough to keep her grounded.Maya held an unreadable entrance as she entered, she found an empty seat by the fireplace and hadn't said a word.I watched her for a while until my eyes wandered into the fireplace. It's low crackles and shadows that danced by the wall.Maya stretched her hand forward and rubbed them together. She tasted warmth enough to satisfy her before she shifted to the chair beside me.Her hand was busy with a scroll now, I got a closer look at her— the lively Maya was gone. Her eyes half-lidded from exhaustion but still alert. The Maya was different. Graceful despite her worries, elegant when she wasn't planning to be.I watched her for a while wondering how we had come this far. Th
