Chapter 18: Before Leaving the Arena

Gray sensed Judah was tense like she was going to escape or anything. There will be a time for that. She only wanted to relieve herself.

The smell of the forest, especially after a heavy rain, tickled Gray's nose. The remnants of the humidity from the night before lingered on her skin. She shut her eyes and rolled her head back.

Ah, she could hear everything. Her ears caught the cry of early birds overhead, the sirens of crickets still singing their songs after a long night, and she could hear the small fish jumping off a lake nearby.

She stretched and painlessly slid into her wolf form. This was how she felt most comfortable and how she started every day. Her claws dug into the earth and shook her coat out.

Gray relieved herself and began to pace. Usually, she does her business inside her room in her human form, but since she's not at her house, she does it with her wolf. She wanted to do some morning runs, but her new Alpha still needed to trust her. She could bet everything she
