**Indicates a dream****The light from the full moon bursts through the window. Alexander rolls over to me and scoops me into his arms. He nuzzles his nose in my neck and breathes in deeply. Following the scent of my mate, my feet wander through the forest, guiding me to him. Once again I find myself on the familiar trail that leads me to the spring. I find myself standing on the large boulders near the spring, my eyes hopefully scanning the area for Victor. I lift my nose to the air and inhale deeply. The smell of citrus and pine hangs heavy in the air but he is nowhere to be seen. Taking a seat on one of the large rocks I allow my toes to dangle in the cool water of the spring. The night is unseasonably hot, and the cool water is inviting. I peek over my shoulder to make sure that no one is looking as I strip off my sleeping gown and fold it neatly on the rock beside me. The warm sun beats down on my skin as I stretch my arms and legs against the cool grass. A round of tingles erupt over my skin as my eyes flutter open. The sky is a perfect shade of red and orange, with tiny white wisps of clouds breaking up the colors. An arm snakes around my waist and pulls me in closer. I close my eyes hoping that this is not all just a wonderful dream. Waking up in the arms of my true mate is not something that I thought would ever happen. Margaret follows me into our bedroom and slams the door behind us. I drop my towel from around my body and it falls on the floor at my feet. The day's chores went better than usual. Margaret was surprisingly lenient on me. She even met me with a few smiles. I cannot help but think that maybe she is trying to bury the hatchet after I told her that I was not trying to get into Alexander's bed. But there was one thing for sure. Margaret is shaking as she takes my hand and walks through the door to Alexander's bedroom. I inhale deeply trying to remember the scent that used to hang heavily in the air. The faint scent of vanilla that used to be so alluring to me now makes me feel sick to my stomach. His bedroom is decorated just as I remember. Large dark wood furniture engulfs the space of the bedroom. Dark burgundy blankets and pillows cover the massive four poster bed that is nestled in the center of the room. Curtains of the same color of burgundy hang heavily over the windows, blacking out any light that might shine through them. All in all the room is dark and depressing. I cannot remember what I used to find so enticing about it. Dragging me to the center of the floor, Margaret releases my hand and stands awaiting directions from Alexander.
