Alexander POVThe sun peeks through my windows and my arms reach out to my sides only to find a cold bed beside me. Every morning I reach for Gloria even though I know that she isn't there. FlashbackThe morning sun rays awaken me from my slumber but the soft breathing of my mate on my chest lets me know that she is still sleeping. Softly I wrap my arms around her tiny body and give her a tight squeeze. I press my lips firmly to her forehead as she sleeps. Peering down at her dark eyelashes begin to flutter open as she awakens from her slumber. Her eyes open lazily and she peeks up at me through her lashes and gives me a seductive smile. "Good morning, My Prince," she says sweetly as she stretches her arms out to her sides before rolling off of me. "Tonight," I chuckle as I tackle her in her bed. "I will be your King." "Are you nervous?" She asks and I know exactly what she is speaking about. My prophecy. "What do I have to be worried about?" I brush off her question
Natalia POVMy eyes are wide with shock as I stare at my mate. "What do you mean you all stay inside?" I am so confused I cannot think of anything else to say. Victor holds my hand in his own and traces small circles on the top of my hand. "We stay inside during the full moon because it isn't safe for us to go out," I still cannot wipe the confused look off my face as Victor tries to explain the traditions of the rogue camp."But if werewolves don't leave their houses how will they ever find their mates?" My head cocks to the side and I bat my eyelashes. "That's just it," Victor says with an air of frustration in his voice. "What if our mate is part of the Kingdom? Our wolves could take over and we could find ourselves in trouble with the King." Biting the inside of my bottom lip I consider the consequences of going outside on the full moon versus never being able to find your mate at all. "I still think it is silly," I fuss at Victor. "All of the guards are watching the L
Alexander POVStraightening the front of my coat I button the top button and place my hands in my pockets. I nod my head to the two guards on either side of the massive castle doors and they open the doors. The scuffing of the wood against the stone floor sends a shiver down my spine and the loud creaking of the wood protests at being opened after all these weeks. The doors open to reveal a large balcony and a gathering of people down below. The murmurs of the crowd echo through the night air as I step to the edge of the balcony and place my hands on the stone railing. The buzz of the crowd turns into claps and cheers as their eyes land on me, their King. I raise my hand to quiet the crowd when I hear it. "Boo," someone yells out as the crowd quiets down. "Boo," their voice resonates loudly against the walls of the castle. A scowl crosses over my face and my eyes scan over the crowd to see where the sound is coming from. Soon another voice joins in and then another. Before
Natalia POVVictor chases me from his house pulling on a pair of pants and shirt as he runs wildly through the rogue camp after me. I have already made up my mind that my first stop is to be with Violet. She could definitely use some cheering up and a party is just the way to do it. Plus, she knows more members of the rogue community than I do so if I can get her on my side, hopefully I can get the rest of the rogue camp on my side as well. Victor races to catch up with me just as Violet opens her door and greets me with a weak smile. It is clear that she is still mourning the loss of her sister. Peeking around at her one room cottage she has thrown her clothes and trash all over the floor, no longer caring what the state of her home looks like. Grabbing her by the arm I pull her from the cottage and give her a bright smile. "I need your help," I say as cheerfully as I possibly can. "Oh yeah," she says sadly. "What for?""We," I say pointing to her and myself, "are going t
Natalia POV“Margaret?” Her name leaves my voice in no more than a whisper. She shuffles uncomfortably where she stands. “It’s me,” she says with sarcastic enthusiasm. “Oh my Goddess,” I breathe out as I pull her into a strong embrace. Stretching my arms out in front of me I hold her there, looking over her body, unable to believe that she is actually there. “I thought you were dead.” Tears threaten to stream down from my eyes I as hold her closely to me once again. “I should have never left you alone that night.”“You couldn’t have known what he is capable of,” Margaret says uncomfortably against my shoulder because I refuse to let her go. “I am sorry I did not tell you that I was leaving,” she pulls herself away from me as speaks. “I just couldn’t…”Pressing my fingers to her lips I refuse to let her say another word. “You did not know who you could trust,” I fill in the blanks for her. “That is completely understandable. Are you here to find your mate?” I ask curiously
Victor POV After a long night of keeping watch on the border, it went exactly like Natalia said it would. None of the rogues tried to get into the Kingdom and only a few werewolves from the Kingdom filtered past the border. Their noses were stuck in the air, hunting down their mates. The sky is turning into a purplish hue indicating that the sun is slowly rising in the East. Letting out a loud sigh, I stretch my arms out to my sides and head back to the rogue camp to get some much needed sleep beside my mate. Jax is already purring gently in my head with excitement. Slowly I walk back to the rogue camp with Jax chattering loudly in my mind. He is complaining that he had to spend the full moon away from his mate because I did not trust her judgment. I have to admit that she was right. There was no threat from the Kingdom tonight. As I walk back towards the center of the rogue camp it is deserted. Everyone dispersed and went home after the night's festivities. Assuming tha
Natalia POVMy eyes have difficulty opening. I am laying on my side and there is a gag wrapped around my mouth, keeping me from making any noise. My hands and feet are bound together and I am unable to move. The air is thick with a woodsy smell and I am having a hard time breathing. The gag in my mouth keeps me from being able to gasp for air. Slowly my eyes adjust to the darkness around me and they widen at the sight around me. I am surrounded by purple, bell shaped flowers. Wolfsbane. I am surrounded by wolfsbane. Reaching back into the recesses of my mind, I search for Adeline. 'Adeline,' I whisper weakly in my mind. 'I am here,' her voice and presence is weak within me. 'What happened?' I ask her hoping that she remembers more than what I do. 'I don't know,' Adeline's voice is fading softer and softer. 'But I feel myself fading away.''Adeline,' I call out in my mind as loud as I can but there is no response. 'Adeline,' I whisper again but she is gone.I look aro
Natalia POVI stretch my arms out widely to my sides and roll over in the most comfortable bed that I have ever been in. It feels as if I am sleeping in a cloud with the softest blankets covering my skin. A series of giggles reach my ears and my eyes flutter open. Opening my mouth into a big yawn the giggles turn into shrieks of fear. Propping myself up in the comfortable bed I see little flowered heads with pointed ears peeking over the end of the bed. Their bright green eyes are shining with both fear and wonder. I have no idea where I am and who these children are. "Hello?" I say as I look curiously at the children at the end of my bed. "Where I am?" I cock my head to the side and look at the children with a smile on my face. "Where are your fangs?" One of the children asks quietly before ducting back down below the end of the bed where I can no longer see her. "Fangs?" I ask in confusion. The two children look at each other and burst into a fit of giggles. "Aren't
