GIDEON

I was fascinated, attracted, and confused about the she-wolf I met last night. But when I woke up, she was gone. I couldn’t even get her name. She’d been drunk to the point of stupor last night and by the time we reached the hotel room, she had passed out.

She was painstakingly attractive and beautiful. While I watched her sleep, all I could think about was every curve on her body. I so desperately wanted to drive my dick into her. My wolf also rambled in my head, desperate to claim her.

I had to push him down to the back of my mind.

Unable to do anything without her consent, I slept off the frustration.

According to what she said last night, she had a mate, which was strange and confusing because my wolf, Storm, recognized her as our mate.

I had been searching for my mate for years and had almost given up on finding her. Only to realize now that I shared her with some dick. I couldn’t wrap my head around the weird plot twist and wondered if this was a punishment.

“Who is she?” Ethan suddenly asked me during our sparring session. Ethan was my best friend and the Beta in line.

“Who is who?” I groaned, confused as our metals clanked against each other.

“Her smell is all over you. And I know she’s not from this—”

“Alpha Prince…” Jack suddenly called, interrupting him.

I stopped the training immediately, jogging towards him and leading him to my office for privacy.

Jack was the private investigator I’d assigned to find out who the woman was. All I’d given him was a vague description and the pack she had mumbled in a haze the night before.

I shot Ethan a glare when he followed us into the office, but I allowed him to stay anyway.

“What do you have?” I asked Jack, taking the brown envelope he had with him.

Ethan clicked his tongue, folding his arms across his chest. “What are you onto again?”

“None of your business,” I groaned, pulling a photograph from the envelope.

When I saw her picture, something in me tightened. Heat rushed through my veins and my wolf let out a low, eager sound.

“Wait. Isn’t this Daisy Northwood?” Ethan took the photograph from my hand and squinted.

My brows furrowed. “The hybrid?”

I had heard about her before, but I never cared to check out her pictures or watch the news when she pulled off the hero move.

“Yes, Alpha Prince. At her birthday dinner a few days ago, she apparently met her mate. Alpha Aldric of the Bloodstone Pack.”

Rage boiled through me. They had just found each other and he had already betrayed her. That was to my advantage though, because I was going to make her mine.

“What’s their relationship like? Daisy and Aldric?” I asked.

“Seems fine on the surface,” Jack said. “But there’s a woman who’s always with Aldric. Lilith. They say they’re best friends, but rumors…” He stopped and let out an awkward cough.

“That fucker!” I ground my teeth. “Get more information on that matter and get back to me.”

After Jack left, Ethan fixed his gaze on me, suspicion in his eyes. “Gideon. Why are you so interested in her?”

“Because I intend to claim her,” I answered flatly. I walked around my desk and sank into my chair.

“Was she the one you were with last—” he trailed off and shook his head. “No. You cannot. She’s mated!”

“I don’t care.”

“If you want a fuck, there are plenty of willing whores. Not someone’s Luna. Do not make that mistake.”

“He lacks the capability to care for her, so I am just helping with that.”

He shook his head in disbelief. “Do you even know what’s at stake here? The people would hate you if they found out that you took his mate and Luna. You wouldn’t want to make an enemy of them when you are the heir to the throne.”

I lifted my brow. “Did I stutter?”

I had the power to take her and I was going to make her mine. Consequences be damned.

He sighed in frustration and rubbed his face. “What do you intend to do with her afterward?”

I shook my head, not knowing the answer myself. “I don’t know.”

All I knew was that I wanted to fuck her until she couldn’t walk anymore. I was so fucking attracted to her that I couldn’t stop thinking about her all day.

Later that night, at my father’s birthday celebration, my heart stopped when I saw her stepping into the building with Aldric. There was a woman beside them, presumably Lilith, but I paid no attention to her. My eyes locked on Aldric’s arm that rested on her back.

My nose flared with rage, and my hands balled into fists. I was about to lose it all and yank his arm off her when Father approached them. I never took my eyes off her.

“Gideon. Don’t,” Ethan warned through the mind-link. I ignored him.

After a while, Aldric left with Lilith. I continued watching Daisy’s every move. And when I saw her going outside, I took the opportunity to follow her.

“Hello, Daisy,” I muttered with a smirk on my face when she abruptly turned to look at me.

“You... you...” she stammered, her eyes widening in perplexity.

I tilted my head, a teasing smile on my lips. “How do you intend to pay for the service given. Cash or transfer?”

“What are you doing here?” She wrapped her arms around herself, shivering. I noticed how her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

“Are you a warrior in this pack? You are strong. Maybe the head warrior?” She continued.

A small smile touched my lips as I shrugged off my jacket and wrapped it around her.

“I am not cold,” she muttered, but clung to the jacket regardless.

“Yes. The head warrior,” I replied, having no idea why I had lied.

“Daisy?” Aldric’s voice echoed from a distance.

I swallowed back a growl. That motherfucker. I literally had to push my wolf back. He howled in my head, begging to be released. He wanted to rip Aldric’s head off for claiming what was ours.

“I have to go now. Thank you,” she said, quickly handing me the jacket and starting to leave.

“Wait…” I grabbed her arm, forcing her to a stop. “I want to see you again. Tonight. After the party. At the bar.”

She looked at me with hesitation in her eyes. Without muttering a word in response, she caught her arm and bolted away.

What happened when I returned to the hall shocked me to the bone.

DAISY“Did you think this barrier could hold me back, kiddo?” Gabriel lifted his brows, seemingly confident.“You’ll lose that mouth of yours by the time I’m done with you.” I flicked my gaze to Mother. “Please, the handcuffs...”“I’ll get them right away,” she said, not allowing me to finish my sentence. She teleported out of the room and was back in less than three minutes.Taking the cuffs from her, I flung them through the barrier, using my magic to hook them around his wrists. Now he couldn’t perform any magic whatsoever. DAISYGideon had some pack matters to sort out, so I returned to the bedroom. I sat on the bed, racking my brain, trying to interpret the sudden dream and the dark aura I had felt.We all believed Gabriel was dead. Could he have lied about the secret to terminating him forever and only made a fool of us when we gathered those three ingredients and used them to stab him?Frustration consumed me, and I raked my fingers through my hair, tugging at it tightly. I should’ve fucking known he wasn’t stupid enough to lay bare his secrets like that when he knew I could use them against him.If Gabriel was truly alive, we were back to ground zero, and getting rid of him would be even more difficult now.Think, Daisy, think! DAISY“Pregnant?” I repeated.“Yes. I had suspected it, but I wanted to confirm it before telling you. I think I can sense another life growing inside us,” Kira said.An overwhelming sense of joy engulfed me. If we were truly pregnant, then I would be the happiest woman alive today. I needed to go to the hospital and get confirmation. With that, I dragged myself into the bathroom, took a shower, slipped into a floral maxi dress, and headed to the hospital to get confirmation from the doctor. My blood sample was taken, and the necessary tests were carried out while I waited in a private waiting area within the hospital.Several minutes later, the doctor returned with a white envelope, a wide smile spreading across his face.“Congratulations, Luna Queen. The pack’s heir is on the way!” he beamed.“Really?” My eyes widened as I snatched the envelope and pulled the sheet of paper out, reading the result. It said I tested positive for pregnancy. My lips spread into a big smile as I slipped

  • The Alpha King’s Special Mate   123| Blinding and Intense.

DAISYBack in the bedroom, the massive bed had been decorated beautifully. There were petals arranged in the shape of a heart on the bed, gift boxes placed on it, and balloons hanging from the ceiling. Petals and candles were scattered all over the floor.A wide smile spread across my lips.“Oh, shit!” Gideon groaned. “I forgot to ask the maids to light the candles on our way here. I had asked them to hold on.”“It’s fine,” a soft chuckle escaped me. “I can just do it.”My hand stretched forward, and I cast the spell that made fire light up the candles.A sense of satisfaction spread through me, not because I had lit the candles, but because I had done it successfully and effortlessly, without blowing up the entire building. I now had full control of my magic, even when it was at its peak.“Perks of having a witch by my side,” Gideon chuckled, and I winked at him.I ventured further into the room and sat by the bed to unbox my gifts. They were collections of bags, shoes, dresses, jewe

  • The Alpha King’s Special Mate   122 | A Surprise for You

DAISY“Why would Lila help us?” I muttered as I slowly inched closer to my mate, took the note, and glanced at it.Before Gabriel’s death, she had betrayed us and given her loyalty to him. Unless...“Perhaps she never betrayed us after all. Maybe she just wanted to get close enough to him to attack him,” Mother voiced out my thoughts.“But she helped Gabriel torture me while I was in captivity. And she was there when he almost killed Violet. If she hadn’t betrayed us, then why didn’t she stop him? And why isn’t she coming out to explain now that Gabriel is dead, instead of slipping us a note with a spell?” I muttered. Before anyone could respond, I moved toward Violet and crouched beside her. “We can think about that later. Let’s worry about reviving Violet first.”I looked at the spell again to memorize it.“Are you sure it will work? What if the spell contains something that would make her condition worse? We cannot trust Lila.” Axel said.“I agree that we cannot trust Lila, but tha
