Sorry for not updating earlier. My day has been hectic. Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Another coming up now
Xavier took her hand and led her through the open pace and into the woods as the lunar eclipse moved to set. He wanted to move her to the highest ground, around where they would be on top of everything, with her beside him. He could hear it with the way her hearts pounded and blood raced through their veins and how alert his senses became. The ground beneath Mia’s feet felt lighter than ever, and her heart was racing. She glimpsed the alpha king and watched the wind of the chilly night blow over his face and through his hair. She wanted to capture the moment, or at least pause it so she could run her fingers through it. The full moon set, and she felt the change through her body, trying to adjust to the times and their effect on her. Xavier picked up the change, he could tell. The little cracking noise her bones made told him she would shift in no time, perhaps faster than he expected. With many years of practice and training, he had more control over his wolf more control than she
***Flashback “Where is your brother?” Robb asked, stepping towards him with a scowl that showed how much displeasure he had from asking the question. Just like always, Xavier was telling their father, fuck you, and Robb could do nothing about it. The relationship between Xavier and Robb had gotten worse after the death of the Queen and at this stage, there was no repairing it. Xavier would happily do as he pleased just because it was sunny and Robb would feel the more disappointed. Today was the feast of conquering, thrown to celebrate the victory that led to the Reign of the alpha king, Robb Ainsworth. The palace hall was crowded. Every noble and lord came to celebrate with the royals, yet Xavier absence seemed deliberate. Elliott Ainsworth stood behind him with a look of worry on his face, but Edward could read through it. He wasn’t really worried. He hated Xavier just as much as Xavier hated him and Edward knew Elliott was probably praying Xavier never shows up. “I don’t know,
“When were you going to tell me, alpha Zayn invited you to his wife’s birthday party, and you accepted?” Xavier asked, stepping into the garden and making his sudden presence known. She noticed his voice seemed too calm for someone who would get dragged off to some place this evening without proper notification. She lowered the cup of tea in her hand onto the small glass plate Toni held out. The maid nodded and immediately departed from the garden, making the alpha king and Mia the only ones left. “I was going to tell you tonight.” “Tonight?” he repeated in disbelief, a scoff following right after. “You were invited a week ago, but you were going to tell me tonight. You hoped to take me by surprise because you knew I would refuse the invitation.” She narrowly stared at him. “He’s an alpha and a member of the council of elders. What was I supposed to do?” “Refuse his invitation as luna and as Queen,” he replied as if it
The party, just as expected, was a simple one with a few guests present. This was less crowded than what Mia had gotten used to recently, but she was happy about the change. When she glanced at Xavier, she noticed he had a grumpy look on his face. It didn’t surprise her, Xavier wasn’t a fan of people and he had the “hate them before they hate you” motto. Xavier remained glued to the corner of the room after they stepped into alpha Zayn’s house where the celebration took place. He was unwilling to move. No one among the present guest glanced at him and unless he beckoned to the servers, none dared came close. He had that terrifying aura, but Mia saw past it. She didn’t want to push him, though. She knew she had used up all her anger-free trials of him. She left him and tried to meet up with a few ladies she recognised from the maidens’ council. Those she saw were pleased to see her, and she felt the same. She couldn’t ignore the heated gaze of Xavier on her while she
She dragged a sharp breath as he finished explaining. He had painted such a picture that she easily imagined every single thing he had said in her head. It felt great. Her lips parted as she breathed raggedly through and her eyes fluttered a few times. She could hear her heart was beating faster. Her nipples were hard and pressing against the fabric of the dress and between her legs, damp with needs. “I didn’t know that.” “Well, now you know.” “You never told me who to think about when I pleasure myself,” Mia spoke up, when Xavier was about to take his leave. He gave her a smile that made her breath cut in her throat. “You can think about whoever you want.” He replied, and he kissed her forehead tenderly, making her body spark up. His soft lips didn’t linger for more than a few seconds before pulling away. “Good night.” She retired to bed in her white singlet and tucked herself in. Her mind raced with thoughts about what the alpha king had told her about her body and wh
Xavier, who saw Mia’s desire for reading, had converted his mother’s spell room into a study for her. In the last few months, Mia had successfully read all the books on the shelf in her room. When she relayed it to Xavier, he seemed obliged to find a way out for her sake. He borrowed her a few of his books from his study and in the little free time she had to herself, Mia finished them and returned them two days later, and that blew him away. He knew she loved books, but he didn’t know she loved them that much. This prompted the creation of the study, and after three days, it was almost completed. Mia stood at the window of her study, which had a thick brown curtain to control the flow of light in the room. She watched as the workers placed the last book on the shelf and she looked impressed with the progress and speed of its transformation. The study desk was being adjusted when the door flew open, startling the eight people in the room. All eyes
As soon as Xavier departed from Mia’s study, he returned to his chambers and picked out a long black hood before leaving the Palace. It was barely dark outside, and this wasn’t his usual routine when he visited Zara, but he needed to see her. He made the decision and every nerve in his body agreed to it. The last time he visited Zara, they shared so many intimate moments, yet something felt missing. He couldn’t wrap his hands around what it was, and when he got ready to leave, the kiss of her lips didn’t make him want to stay. Something had been happening to him, something insane, and it was the disappearance of the feelings he once had for his lover. A few months ago, the echoes of her name would send him wild and the thought of Zara’s fairness and body would send chills through him, but that was no longer the case. He didn’t know if she felt the change as well, but if she did, she said nothing about it. At first, he didn’t think it had anything to do with his wife, but today made
Flashback The door of Xavier’s room flew open and the loud bang of it caused his head to slam heavily. He tried peeling his lashes apart, but the much light in the room made him shut them back. “You good for nothing idiot!” Robb roared as he stormed into his room. Xavier did not know what he did to deserve this name-calling. Could it be him getting drunk in the tavern until this morning, or being brought in by the guards? Or was it from taking a bag of gold from the treasure room? Or from spending over 600 talent on drinks for himself and his friends? Whichever it was, he had pissed his father off big time. “Father!” “Somehow you’ve dragged the Ainsworth’s name through the mud with your careless acts! I am ashamed to call you my son.” “Then don’t call me your son, call me, Xavier!” he slurred, staggering out of the bed and falling face-first on the floor. He groaned in pain and forced himself up to his feet, before leaning against the bed stand. There were two phases to him: bei
