Hours later,
Xavier cracked the door to the study open and stepped inside. He would carry on with the day as if nothing happened. Something did. His heart was crushed, but he had to hold his head up and move on from all of it. It would be for the best.
He gave the guards instructions to not bother him unless the matter at hand was an urgent one.
He picked a new book from the shelf titled: You And The Three Stars. It looked like an interesting book, and he needed to keep his mind preoccupied. If he succeeded in clearing his mind, then he would try to figure out what to do with the threat letter he got.
He flipped the pages open and took a seat to read the first page.
It was a brilliant book, but sadly, it was a romantic one. He didn’t put it down, though. He kept reading how Ivan lost Tomi to the three stars. It was a pure case of negligence and he wished he could see Ivan and tell him how dumb he was for not seeing all the signs To
So Edward isn't the bad guy. So we will cross him off the list of suspect.... So we have Chike and Elliott. It was amazing writing these chapter. The Ainsworth brother always falling out... Also Xavier isn't only taming himself around his wife, but everyone he cares about and that include Edward.... Thanks for the votes.... Oh my god the comments keeps me grinning from cheek to cheeks. Thank you guys for the overwhelming support. Thank you
The ray of the sunlight peeking through the slightly parted window flickered on Mia’s face. She moaned and twisted a little in bed before parting her lashes and becoming conscious of her environment. Her brain felt hazy while she tried to wrap her head around the events that took place last night. It seemed blank. Yet, something told her so much had happened. She swam her hands on the bedsheets, and they ran over her naked body. Then it hit her. It wasn’t a dream. She had given herself to the alpha king, and he had taken her. He had claimed every part of her. He also took her surrender, and she took his. She turned her head to the other side of the bed. But Xavier was no longer there. She didn’t expect him to be. He took her to punish her and seeing him would have been awkward. She didn’t want to think about it, but she was certain he had moved on from it and already marched into the next conquest like she knew he would do. That thought made her heart sting a little, and she groane
She stayed silent, pondering over what he just revealed and when her alluring amber eyes finally lifted, she asked, “Does that change anything in our agreement?” It changed everything. From their bond to their needs and vulnerabilities. The first union amongst married couples wasn’t just mating, it meant they will give out a part of themselves, leave themselves vulnerable to the other party. Mating was an act of vulnerability, as it was of control and dominance. He trusted her enough to be vulnerable with her, but she didn’t do the same with him. That was what drove him away and the reason he kept off. He knew that wasn’t what she wanted to hear and so he shook his head. “No, it changes nothing. Take a walk with me.” he stretched his hand out to her, and she reluctantly took it. “When I was little, I’d hide out here whenever Edward and I played.” He said, pointing to the path that led to the forest outside the palace. It now had a palisade for protection of keeping intruders out an
Mia saw Xavier struggle as he revealed a part of his past, especially his estranged relationship with his father. It seemed to have begun many years ago, and she understood why he had a difficult time getting along with him. He didn’t have to tell her. Those were parts anyone would try to hide away, yet he wanted her to know. He trusted her. He didn’t want to be like his father, though, and looking at Xavier now, she knew he was nothing like him. He was a good man and king, and every day he worked to get even better. She didn’t want to shut him down. He communicated healthily and encouraging him would go a long way. He had given up so much for the throne, some of which she still didn’t know about. If she could help him gain back even a little, she wanted to try. She wasn’t just his wife and Queen; she was his Luna now. “Have you ever wished for another life?” her head swivelled to give him an angled glance. “More times than I can count,”
“Dying wasn’t part of our agreement.” The reply he had given a while ago echoed in his ears as they made their way through the palace hallway and towards her chambers. Things got a little awkward since he said those words and they couldn't deny it. But if he had the chance to go back, he would still say the same thing. He didn’t want her dead because he no longer saw a world without her in it. That world flashed in his eyes when he saw the stake launch towards her earlier. It was an unbearable life, one he wouldn’t want to be in. So he saved her. He needed her, he still wanted her and the nightmares she brought him. It was a scary reality he was getting used to. He knew his feelings were genuine and strong for her, and they grew every day, but he didn’t want to project that on her or put them in a complicated place. So, he gave the excuse of the agreement to her. Once they reached her door, he broke the silence. “Are you sure you didn’t hurt something? You don’t want me calling t
Her eyes were still shut when he pulled out of her. He took his cum-covered hands into his mouth and sucked it dry. “Turn around,” he ordered and her eyes fluttered to see him already off the bed and staring down at her. “What?” she dragged out. Her orgasm had knocked the air out, and her senses only started returning a few seconds ago. She doubted she could do what he wanted. She was still trembling and sensitive, but the look on his face told her he wasn’t giving her much option. This felt like yesterday. Only he gave her time to recover her strength before telling her about his plans to go again. “I need you. I need to have you. Do it now!” he growled, his need getting the best of him. Her core clenched at his possessiveness, coming to life, and she scrambled onto her hands and knees, awaiting his entrance into her. He took his time, gazing at her from behind, and she felt his eyes trail from her legs up to the back of her thigh and further up. He liked whatever he saw because
Mia's eyes fluttered at the ray of sunlight in her room. She twirled around a little in bed, but when her head turned around, she didn’t find Xavier beside her. Her heart tightened painfully in her chest, but she quickly told herself to get over it. It wasn’t his first time leaving and it shouldn’t surprise or hurt her anymore, but it did. No matter what she told herself. His actions were always going to hurt her. However, she would not show it. She would not confront him. That would only make her look weak, and she didn't want to look weak. The door to the bathroom opened while she contemplated how to get out of bed and behold, Xavier stood before it. He had his trousers on but had nothing covering his upper body but for his long back hair which fell over his shoulders. His gorgeous shoulders which she'd trailed kisses on last night. He rested his shoulder against the wall and crossed his hands over his chest and his biceps flexed as a result. Mia dragged a
Mia saw the way Xavier stared around the temple and his body language denoted that he didn’t want to be here. She had practically dragged him along like always, but she couldn’t come alone. Today, Jared and Lydia would unite as mates in holy matrimony and she had to honour their invitation. They sent a letter a month ago informing her about the set date and time of their union. Mia was excited and happy for them, and she informed Xavier about their invitation. He barely gave a reaction to her news. Mia didn’t blame him. He barely knew Jared or Lydia. She, however, knew them both. Being in attendance was the least she could do and Xavier came along because he was her husband and, more importantly, because he wanted her to be safe. Who better to keep her safe than her possessive gorgeous king? Jared and Lydia chose the temple at the south capital and they wanted a simple union, but there was no such thing as simplicity when the king and queen were in atte
“Mia!” he repeated, his fascination lingering in his deep voice. “It’s nice to meet you.” He stretched his hand out to her and when she took it; he brought it to his lips and placed a tender kiss on it. Mia's skin crawled at the contact of his lips on her skin. She thought he would just shake her hand and she didn’t expect the kiss that followed. She knew at this point Xavier was red with anger, if not more, but he had to behave. They were in an open gathering and he couldn’t act out. This would get her into deep trouble, but she didn’t care. She wanted the trouble. “The pleasure is mine,” she said, forcing on a smile. The young server returned with her grape wine in a golden goblet and he handed it over to her. His eyes took notice of her and then Blake beside her before travelling to the back where the alpha king stood and his eyes displayed panic as if he was the one in trouble. Mia smiled at him, took the cup, nodded at B
