CHARLES.

“You can't be serious, can you?” A voice said as I walked near the conference hall.

I could already tell who it was and why she was speaking with so much irritation and anger. I sighed and kept walking.

“I am so sorry, ma'am, but I can't reach the king at the moment. You might have to wait till he is done with what he is doing and comes around!” Another voice said, and I could tell it was a maid.

Mrs. Roseline! My stepmother acts like the world is at her feet and she is liable to do anything she wants at any point in time.

Well, it annoys me that such is the case, but what can I say? She was born with a crazy attitude, or should I say she got her attitude herself?

“I need to see that boy right now. I know you can find him. Find him for me right now, or you will not expect what I will do to you right now.” She yelled at the poor maid, and I could already see them, but I stopped to see what her actions would be.

“I am so sorry, ma'am!’ The maid replied to her, but I was certain she was not satisfied.

“Do you even know who I am at all? Are you new here or what? You are daft, and you will not be able to stand what I will do to you right now!” She said as she threw her purse towards the maid.

The maid was smart and fast enough to dodge, causing her purse to fall on the floor, and it was towards my direction.

“You bitch! Do you know how much my purse is worth? I will show you the stuff I am made of right now!” She yelled again,

I walked out at this moment and went straight to them and picked up the purse. “For a woman who was sent out of her position, you should know what to do and what not to do!” I said, and the two of them looked at me.

I didn't pay attention to them as I was looking at the purse in my hand.

“This is so expensive and rare, but I think Mrs. Roseline didn't consider that when she decided to send it flying towards the lady who is attending to her at the moment!” I said,

I looked up at this moment, and I was faced with her horrified face. I sighed, and she immediately changed her expression, trying to prove her seniority.

“Is that how you say hello to your seniors, Charles?” She asked, and I chuckled and walked towards her.

She subconsciously moved back, and I stopped. I didn't want to scare her, but I needed to be sure she understood that I am still the man in power at this very moment.

“Well, I only accord respect to those who deserve respect, and Mrs. Roseline, you didn't pay for my respect!” I said and placed the purse in my hand on the seat very close to where I was.

I walked towards my seat and sat down.

“And why did you come here against my orders?” I asked, and she frowned.

“We are family, and technically I am still the Luna of the clan. You can't write to us just like that! Charles!” She said and walked towards the place where I left her purse.

“Really!” I said and raised my head. I rested my back on my seat nonchalantly, seeing that she was so nervous about what I wanted to say.

“Well, you were the Luna of the clan, no doubt, but your time has gone. You are no longer a Luna. Right now you are the one that we are raising our fence against!” I replied to her without holding back anything in my mind.

“Charles, what is my offense? You have to think of royalty and shut everything in your head off. We are still family!” She said, and I laughed.

I knew she would come up with something like this every time she showed up. She's always trying her best to blackmail me into doing something crazy or stupid, and I just can't help but laugh.

“Really!” I exclaimed, and she went mute.

“Did you really think of us as a family before?” I asked, and she looked around like she was lost for a minute.

“Ohh, answer me. Have you ever? In your slightest thought, think of me and you in the same sentence and as a family.” I asked, and she didn't say anything.

“I thought as much!” I said, and she sighed.

“Bygones are bygones, Charles. Do you think your father will be glad that everything is going the way it is right now?

Think about it, Charles!” She added, and I chuckled.

“Is this what you are here for? If you are just here to tell me to think about what my father saw fit, I think he will be realizing his mistakes in his grave, and he will support anything I am doing now!” I replied to her without allowing her to think she had leverage against me.

“So, if you are done talking, you can leave!” I said, and she sighed.

“Charles, when did you become so hard? Being a light doesn't make you so hard! You are still my son.” She said, and I laughed.

“Don't repeat it again!” I said it with a straight face the next minute, and she wasn't expecting it, as I was laughing earlier.

“Never call me your son because I am not. You know your son, and that is not me!” I said, and she sighed.

She looked away, and I looked around.

“Speaking of that son of yours, I was told you came with him, so where is he?” I asked, and she looked around like I was not speaking to her.

“You can hear me, Mrs. Roseline. Where is your son?” I yelled, and I could tell she didn't know.

“If I find out he is doing something crazy in my castle. I will not hesitate to behead him!” I yelled and signaled to Danford to look for my stepbrother.

That bastard!

I am sure he is where I don't want him to be! That is who he is!
