CHARLES

I stared at Mrs. Agnes, and her body language wasn't mixed; she was certain of what she was saying right now.

She wasn't kidding when she mentioned Amy, was she? But how, how did he see Amy? I wasn't planning on hiding her, but I didn't want them to see either.

“I was coming out towards the hallway, then I saw Mr. Reed yelling at Miss Amy, asking him who she was and what she was doing in the castle!” She said, and I looked at Reed, who was having fun.

No wonder he was calm! No wonder he was not looking for trouble when I insulted him earlier. He was driving to find out who she was.

He wanted to drive me to the point of knowing how important she is to me.

“Miss Amy refused to speak out her name, but she was not giving in to his intimidating aura either!” Mrs. Agnes said and knelt down immediately.

“This is all my fault. I should have been there earlier, and I should have assigned a maid to Miss Amy to guide her. I am so sorry, your majesty; please pardon me!” She said, and I sighed.

“This is not about you! You can leave!” I said, and the butler looked up at me with shock. Even though I was not looking at her, I could tell by her expression.

She was surprised that I wasn't saying much even after knowing that Reed is after my woman. I know Reed.

This was the plan all along. I can easily guess what happened out there before he came here. He must have been wandering around them to meet Amy.

Seeing she was not dressed like a maid, he wanted to know who she was, but Amy was quite stubborn.

She refused him, and he could easily guess that she didn't know him, and for her to be here, she must be my friend.

So he decided to play this crazy game to know if I was in any kind of relationship with her or not.

If she were my woman, I would expect myself to overreact and make a fuss with him, but I don't think I will do that.

Playing his game is the only thing he wants, and he can't get that from me; I won't allow that. He can do whatever he feels like, but I won't give him the pleasure of making it out of here.

“My brother!” I said and chuckled. He was slightly stunned, but he didn't reveal it, as he didn't want me to think that my plan was working.

He was obviously thrown under the bus by my reaction, but I won't be the one to poke him faster. Slow and steady wins the race.

“You really do admire good and great things. I must say, I love your taste too!” I said, and he looked at me.

“What do you mean?” he asked, and I smiled.

“Amy isn't a maid; she is a friend. So she is not meant to give out! You want her; you need to pursue her!” I said, and Danford, who was behind me, was shocked.

I could feel his glare on my shoulder, but I didn't pay attention to him.

“What!” Reed exclaimed, and I nodded.

He could believe what I was saying! He thought I would fight with him and argue that she is mine or she is my mate or whatever, but that isn't the case now.

I won't fight with him. He loves games; why not allow him to play some games with me too?

“She is a lady; she doesn't even love arranged marriages! If you like her, you have to pursue her like a man, not come up to me like a child that I should give her to you!” I said, and he frowned.

“Since when did my brother begin to have friends?” He asked, and I laughed.

“The last thing you knew about me was the fact that I became thirteen. Since then to date, you do not know who King Charles is.” I said, and he sighed.

“So don't speak like you know me, brother! I am doing what is best for you. So you want her, you pursue her!” I reminded him, and he looked at me for a while.

“Does this mean I can stay back at the castle?” He asked, and I looked at him and then at Danford.

“No, you can't!” I replied in a calm tone, and he frowned.

“What! How can I pursue a lady when I am not in the castle?” He said, and I chuckled.

“The old-time way, and you only asked for a maid, not a space in the castle. I will arrange with Mrs. Agnes to send you a maid when you are leaving!” I said, and he frowned.

“Charles, you!!!” He yelled, and I looked at him innocently, like I was not doing anything bad to him.

“I told you to think wisely before you chose. You chose a maid, and now a maid you shall get!” I added, and he looked at me for a while.

“I want to pursue Amy!” He said, and I felt my blood boil as my wolf threatened to come out and bite his head off.

I could feel the tension seeing him declare his intention.

“Let me out! Let me kill that bastard! He is doing too much!” "My wolf said, and I swallowed hard, trying to ignore the voice in my head, 'You've got it right now.'"

I could tell that Reed was intentionally making the declaration to provoke me. He still believes that I have something to do with Amy.

And she is my woman. Even though I try to debunk the news, he is still pretty adamant, and he wants to believe that she is someone very important to me.

“You bastard!” Balard yelled within me as my eyes turned red all of a sudden.

“Brother, do you want to say something?” He asked with a glaring gaze, trying to provoke me.
