I exchanged looks with the butler and Reed. He had a smile on his face. Didn't quite understand.

“What sort of joke is this, Reed? Why did you say you are interested in a maid and you don't know her name, and now the butler doesn't even know her?” I asked.

“Are you hallucinating?” I asked, and he shook his head, still with the same smile on his face.

The more I looked at him, the creepier the smile got, and I suddenly sensed conspiracy, and I don't know why!

“Ohh, I am not lying to you, brother, but it seems that the butler has forgotten who the person is!” He said, and even the butler looked at him with a confused gaze.

“What do you mean?” The butler asked him.

“You met me with a young lady before you told me that the king was looking for me! I am speaking of the young lady!” Reed said, and we all turned to the butler.

She was shocked and startled at the same time. She went mute for a while before staring at him with a confused gaze.

“She isn't a maid! The person you stood with isn't a maid, Mr. Reed.” She said it with a harsh tone, and I was confused.

There is a lady in the castle who isn't a maid, and I didn't know her!

What is going on here?

“Did I say maid?” Reed said with a smile and a confused face.

“My bad, I meant a maiden. She is the fairest and the finest of all the maidens I have seen! You know her now, don't you!” Reed added,

“What!” I exclaimed, looking at him.

“What the hell are you talking about? You said a freaking maid! And a maid it will be. I wasn't the one who told you not to know the difference between a maid and a maiden.” I yelled at him.

Your mistake, your loss.” I said to him adamantly,

“Calm down, brother. It was a silly mistake. I didn't get it correctly in my head, but you can't go back on your words, can you?” He said, and I rolled my eyes.

“You asked for what you asked for!” I said it back to him, and he smiled.

“You haven't even checked who the lady is. I am sure you don't have any business with her, and you can release her to me because we love each other!” He said.

Immediately the butler turned to him and shook her head.

“Love! That's a strong word and irony for a lady who almost puked seeing you! Can you not be a shameless Reed?” She said, without holding back her tongue.

She was not having what he was saying at all, and at that very moment, I wanted to know who the lady in question was.

“Who is this lady?” I asked, and the butler turned to me and bowed her head.

“Just promise to give her my like, like you did before! You don't have to know her first!” Reed said in a rush, and I looked at him.

His hyperactivity about this matter makes it more suspicious, and I don't want you to give the lady to him at all.

“She is not a good read. She is not a service that I will just hand over to you just like that. The butler said, You are not in love with her, and even if you are, we have to ask the lady!” I yelled at him, and he shook his head.

His smile disappeared, seeing that I wasn't ready to give the lady in question to him.

“You can't be heartless. You bluntly promised to give her to me just now, and in return, I will never bother the clan again, but now you are going back on your words.” Reed yelled, and I rolled my eyes at him.

“That is not done!” he added, and I rolled my eyes at him.

“You said a maid, and now that she is not a maid, and from the butler's words, she is not interested in you, I can't give you my word for a lady that doesn't want you!” I replied to him.

The room was getting heated as we spoke, and I was wondering what was going on!

“You are kidding me, right? What does this matter to you? Who is she to you that you are defending her this much?” He said, and this time we were both raising our voices.

“Are you listening to yourself? Even if she is a slave or a maid, there is something called consent, and you are not familiar with that because you take things by force.” I yelled back at him.

“That isn't me at all! I won't give you a lady because you want her, and worst of all, she is not even a maid!” I said, and he chuckled.

“Then who is she?” He asked, and I was confused.

I don't even know who this young lady is; I just didn't feel it was right with my soul that they should be together or I should give the lady to him.

“She is Lady Amy!” the butler suddenly yelled, and I turned to her immediately.

Did I just hear Amy? Probably I am just thinking too much about everything. Why would he want to take Amy?

How could he have seen Amy? What is his business with Amy? And I am sure Amy went to her room, so how could he have seen Amy?

So definitely it is not Amy?

“What did you just say? Mrs. Agnes, it seems I heard wrong!” I said, and she looked up gently, and I could see the soberness and sadness in her eyes.

What?

Has he met with Amy? How? I just sent her off before coming here, and how did he wander to his side of the castle?

This is not the plan at all!
