AKIRA

I got to the palace even before I could catch my breath, I was close to getting to my room when I saw Zane coming out of my room perplexed, and a maid behind him.

“Where could she be?” He questioned, his face was slightly squeezed.

Was he looking for me? I thought, hiding behind one of the pillars. When he was gone I ran immediately into my room, closing the door behind me, and almost stumbled over.

I placed my palms on my knees and tried to catch my breath. After getting a steady breathing and my body has relaxed a bit, I straightened myself.

I pulled off the cloak and the maid dress I was wearing and dumped them in a corner where eyes couldn’t possibly meet but I will have to dispose of them later.

I felt a sharp pain on my side and when I looked at it, my skin had turned dark purple, it was the place where the man had hit.
