Smoke still lingered in the cold morning air, the scent of char and damp earth clinging to the compound like a shadow that refused to lift.

Raven stood in the training yard, watching as her warriors and Thorne’s wolves cleaned weapons, patched armor, and shared quiet conversation. The sounds were softer today, laughter hushed, eyes darting to the tree line as if expecting another attack.
