Chapter Fourteen

The door to the bedroom banged open, smacking against the wall behind it and causing us both to snap awake and sit up, alert for a threat. I huffed and relaxed when I saw Varin standing in the doorway, a frown forming as I noticed the worried look on his face. Silas stood up and pulled on his jeans from the floor and looked at his Beta.

“What’s going on Varin, why are you worried?” Silas asked as he quickly pulled a shirt over his head.

“The council member Magnus Horne is here with Alpha Kane and some of his warriors. They won’t say why they’re here until the two of you come down to meet them.” He spoke quickly, his eyes flickering to me before he focused on Silas, his face giving away nothing.

That’s an interesting perspective. With Jax it was a hidden relationship and everything had to be kept secret, they also both changed and nothing was done maliciously. They just grew apart. With Silas, she is struggling with the bond and trying to come to terms with her feelings for him.

It’s not supposed to be perfect because people are not perfect. She’s a real person and she makes mistakes. She is being influenced by a bond that is sometimes more than she can control and a part of her does have genuine feelings for Silas, which makes everything much more messy

She threw a fit when Jax said he was jealous and said how dare he imply she would ever give in to the mate bond or how dare he not trust her prior promises to him and yet that’s exactly what she did. She then turns the tables and makes the other feel guilty. She gaslights men - Jax and Silas
