LOGINSloane
I had gone through pain all my life and right then, revenge was the only thing I wanted. The only thing I craved, but not at the expense of letting them use me. They had gone outside that time, leaving me free access to the window. I should have escaped, but I didn't. I didn't move. Instead, I stood in the middle of the room while I thought about everything that had happened, about the plot from Kylie and Barry and how I wanted to make them pay. Then I looked back at the contract in my hands. My name was boldly written on the heading. Did I really want this? Did I really want them to use me like a piece of furniture? No, I did not. I looked back at the open window and out the door. I walked toward the door and closed it after making sure no one was nearby. I walked back to the bed, pulled off the sheets, and tied them to the window. Slowly, I put my legs out the window, hands tight on the sheets properly tied to the window. I slowly slid down, my hands holding the material with every fibre of my being. After what seemed like hours, I got down, falling straight into the bush, hitting my knee in the process. “Ouch! Shit!” I cursed under my breath but stood up and walked toward the gate. My walking was weak, seeing as I had just sprained my knee or some shit. But I needed to leave there before anyone saw me. As I got closer to the gate, I looked back, just making sure none of them were following me. Good. I would leave, probably look for a way to get back to the pack and beg Kris to give me a listening ear. I limped forward, taking each step slow and steady until I bumped into a large wall of muscle. I turned and my eyes met Logan's. He stood in front of me, hands in his pants pockets, head tilted to the other side while he watched me with that jester expression on his face. “Where are you going?” he asked, eyes trailing down to my knee where I had placed a hand. “Were you trying to…?” I immediately put my hand over his mouth, trying to shush him. “Shhhhh,” I whispered, but he only smiled under my hand. I pushed him so far until his back hit the gate and after a few minutes of silence, I slowly pulled my hand away. He caught it immediately, startling me in the process. He sniffed, eyes closed. “Strawberry and moose. Fun.” My breath hitched as I doubled back. “Where were you trying to leave, Sloane?” The way he called my name with so much tenderness, for the first time, I didn't feel like shutting him up. “Yes, I was,” I admitted. “I wasn't going to stay there and let you people impose your decision on me.” “What decision?” I rolled my eyes as I saw that stupid smirk crawl up to the side of his lips again. He was so infuriating. Urgh! “I won’t answer that. Fuck, no.” I tried to reach the gate locks but he stood in front of me, blocking my path. He did it again and again while I tried my best to unlock the gates. “It's past midnight; you wouldn't be able to unlock them.” “I don't care,” I said. He moved aside, both hands above his head in surrender. I launched at the gates, forcing myself to open the locks, but it looked as if they were screwed shut. I continued trying and, out of frustration, screamed, hitting the unopened gates over and over. “See, I told you. You can't open them.” I felt his breath on me and I shook, turning quickly. He was so cold; I could smell his scent. He smelled like cigars and expensive cologne that smelled so manly. Of course, he smokes. “Move,” I warned, but he stood there, both hands behind his back as he stared at me with so much interest. “You are funny, little wolf,” he said and my breath hitched. Fuck! What was going on with me? Focus, Sloane. You need to get out of there. That was all that mattered and not some redhead calling you nicknames. “I need to leave. I can't stay here, and you're not going to stop me.” He chuckled, soft at first, then turning into a fit of laughter. “You really are feisty,” he said. “Come on, we have to go back inside, or Dean will come looking for you.” “Dean,” I said, as if remembering his imposing nature. I called him to help, and he offered something I couldn't bring myself to agree to. At least, I think so. I looked back at Logan; his eyes were on me now. I didn't want to give in, but there was something about his grey eyes that captured me. They somehow enthralled me. I breathed him in, taking a whiff, and oh my God, my eyes rolled to the back of my head. I swallowed hard as I tried to think straight, but I couldn't move. I tried again, pushing a leg forward, but I tumbled on my heels and fell back into Logan's arms. I held his large frame while he held me, his hands in my hair. My hands trailed down, he felt so strong and so near. “You're exhausted,” he said after a long beat of silence. “We should get you back inside.” Suddenly, a wave of weakness washed over me, and I nodded. I let him pick me up, and we walked back to the estate until everything turned black.Sloane I ran and ran until my heels ached. I pulled off my boots, my toes scratching the bush twigs and whatnot. I didn't have any direction and didn't know exactly where I was going, but I kept running, that adrenaline rush moving through my body. They were behind me, following until I couldn't hear their footsteps anymore. Exhausted, I stopped at the base of a tree, holding the trunk tight with all my might. I tried to calm my ragged breathing but I breathed heavily, hands on my chest as I tried to settle. I closed my eyes, imagining them running toward me with so much intensity that my pussy clenched with want just from the thought.I needed them near me. Just when I was about to take a step forward and continue the game, a hand came over my mouth from behind, covering it while I screamed into it. Slowly, Hunter walked to my front, a dangerous glint in his eyes.He looked gorgeous, tattoos peeking out from under his long-sleeve shirt, piercings glittering under the moonlight. He s
Sloane I walked until I reached where they all stood, their eyes watching me as I got closer. My fingers tugged at the edge of the skirt, pulling it down as I reached them.“Sloane,” Dean greeted, something like hunger grew in his eyes.“Dean. I hope I'm not too late.”“You're just at the right time, mami,” Hunter said, taking me aback.Wow… that's… new.I was about to say something when a lady with sharp red hair used two spoons to jam on each other, creating a noise that caught everyone's attention.“Hey y’all! Thank you all for coming to our party. It's been a blast and I just want to specifically thank our Alphas,” she said, turning to us. “Alpha Dean, Alpha Logan, and Alpha Hunter. Thank you guys for showing up.”“Anything for you, Viv,” Logan said, catching a kiss as she blew it his way.Why did I hate that? It made my heart bang loudly in a not-so-appropriate way.I looked forward, shaking the thought from my head. They pulled out chairs for everyone as we sat around a large,
SloaneShe stared at me as if I had suddenly grown two heads on my neck. Her face was still twisted with disgust as she looked, that aura radiating from her.“You have some nerve talking to me like that. Wait until my son's return and I will make sure you get thrown out of here.”“Fine,” I said, shrugging. “Let them know and see who they'll listen to. I have no idea what I've done to you that makes you so mean to me.”She groaned, a low sound.“Now, if you'd excuse me, I have somewhere to be,” I said one last time before I walked past her, mouth agape as she stared at me.That wasn't so hard, now was it? I'm not the type to sit still and watch someone insult me or disrespect me. I believe that respect should be reciprocated, so if you respect me and my presence in this pack, then I will do the same.—------------------------------------------The knock on my door jolted me awake. I stood up, a cookie plastered to my cheek, and shook it off. I looked at the littered crumbs on my bed; o
Sloane Can I touch it? That was so stupid, especially since he's been ignoring me since that day. What the fuck was I doing? The triplets had gone out to work and I was home alone, trying to bake. I had told the maids to let me do it because I wanted to surprise them.I sighed for the fourth time as I pulled out the fourth tray of burnt cookies. I suck at this, really. I can get an MBBS, but this? This is so fucking hard.My mom didn't teach me how to cook, so I wasn't used to it.“Excuse me, miss?” Genevieve, one of the maids, poked her head into the kitchen. Her eyes roamed over the burnt snacks.“Do you need help?”I smiled awkwardly. How long had they been watching me? I glanced at her and then back at my so‑called work of art.“Kind of.”She walked slowly toward me, hands on her sides, carrying a tray of muffins. She placed it on the countertop.“I've been watching you, and you don't know how to bake, do you?”“I suck at cooking or anything in the kitchen. I mean, I can heat up
Logan She was drunk, and I wasn't going to take advantage of her. She took a few steps toward us and we took a few steps back.Just when she was about to say something, she fell, but I was quick enough to catch her. She dozed right in my arms, her hands limp against my body. I carried her up properly and headed straight to the bed, tucking her in with a pillow placed neatly beneath her head.“She's been making terrible choices lately,” Dean said. I smiled, staring at him and Hunter.“Give her a break. She's only twenty-three,” I said, staring back at her.“We have to find a way to keep her from finding out more. She's been a little nuisance lately,” Hunter said, staring at her this time. Sometimes I wonder if he even wants her here. So far he's been acting distant, but that's not new for Hunter. The guy is more in his head than with anyone else.“I want to protect her, and if it means taking her away from her pack then trust me, I will,” Dean said, big-brotherly. He's the first to co
Sloane“I told you we were handling it. You didn't have to come back here.“Sure, this is definitely handling it,” I said, sarcasm filling my tone. That only annoyed him more; his jaw tightened. He grabbed my wrist, stopping me from moving away. “Get in the car, Sloane.”I tried to pull free.“Let me go!” I shouted.“Dean,” Logan and Hunter called, Logan touching his back. He let go of me, his eyes softened.“I don't even know who you are anymore!” I shouted in his face, then ran off. I would walk back on my own. I don't give a fuck.__________________________I've been walking for a long time. My knees hurt, and my ankles ached from the distance. Fortunately, I spotted a bar from afar and ran inside. I took out Dean's card—the one I had snuck out with me today—and ordered a whiskey.I drank until I was numb, loving every bit of it. There was no one here with me, just me. No one to treat me like shit anymore. It's just me and my sad life. My life was a sad one.In one day I lost my
