Chapter 4

ผู้เขียน: TP
As the wound tore open, it burned with a sharp pain that pierced the bones, but it was nothing compared to the chill in my heart.

I looked at Conan, the pup who stood shielding Sadie, baring his blood-stained fangs at me. In his eyes, I was the enemy.

I felt something inside me finally snap—the last fragile thread that had bound us together as mother and son. Over these ten years, he had been thoroughly ruined.

If he wanted to claim the liar as his mother, I was fine with having to discard him, too.

Cold sweat broke across my skin, but deep down, I was terrifyingly calm.

I knew I had to leave, and for good. If I openly fought back, Lucian would never agree to dissolve the bond, and he would also imprison me.

So, I swallowed the pain and forced a look of submission and defeat. Looking down, I whispered, "Fine… I'll stop. I don't want Conan to hate me."

Lucian relaxed. He wore a smug, victorious look as he thought he had once again found my weakness and pinned me down.

"That's right, Ylva."

After helping Sadie sit, he pushed further, "Since you've come to your senses, you'll begin Sadie's prenatal care the moment you're discharged. You're best suited for this, and it'll keep the pup healthy."

He wanted me to nourish that bastard pup. The audacity was almost astonishing.

"Fine. I'll do it," I said, and expressionlessly nodded.

For the next month, I played the part of a soulless doll. I complied with treatments, took medicines on time, and showed no reaction even when Conan came by to taunt me.

Deep down, I was secretly planning every detail of my escape. This time, I wasn't letting anyone hold me back.

A month later, I was discharged from the hospital. Coincidentally, Sadie had a prenatal checkup, so Lucian took her and Conan to the hospital.

The vast pack house was empty when I returned.

Instead of taking any jewelry, I retrieved my identity papers and withdrew an old wooden box from the back of the wardrobe. It contained the necklace Mother had left me.

That was all I needed.

Before leaving, I spotted Lucian's private journal in the study.

The most recent entry read. "She may have despicably forced the mating ritual through her family's powers back then, but after these past six months, I've started to grow used to having her quietly around.

"Perhaps I can try to love her, as long as she behaves and stops being jealous of Sadie."

Tried to love me? That was the best joke I had ever heard.

Up to this day, he still believed Sadie had saved his life and that I had forced him into his bond.

I picked up a red pen and slashed a massive cross mark over the page, so hard that the tip tore through the paper. Beside it, I wrote a single line.

"Your love is cheap, idiot. Save it for the liar."

From my bag, I took out a vial of dark green liquid and drank it in one gulp. It was a costly potion I had acquired as a temporary blocker for the mate bond.

As the liquid slid down my throat, Lucian's presence vanished from my mind. Then, I left a final letter. "I will sever what ties us together at any cost."

After placing it on the desk, I picked up my bag and walked out the door.

The sunlight was harsh, but I had never felt so free.

At the hospital, Sadie gazed triumphantly at the ultrasound showing a healthy fetus. She nestled in Lucian's arms and cooed, "Look at how strong the pup is, Lucian. He's going to be a powerful wolf one day—"

Before she could finish, Lucian's expression changed drastically. He clutched his chest, and his pupils contracted violently.

In that instant, the deep-seated bond in his mind, which he shared with me, ripped away. A sudden, horrifying emptiness tore through him.

"Something's wrong! Ylva's in trouble!"

He shoved Sadie aside mid-sentence and bolted back to the pack house like a madman.

"Ylva! Ylva!" he shouted after throwing open the front door, but dead silence was the only response he received.

When he rushed into the bedroom, everything was there, except the box that held Mother's keepsake.

Finally, he stormed into the study and saw the letter.

  • The Alpha Wants Me Back? Denied.   Chapter 10

Lucian stood in the rain for three days and nights before he finally collapsed. He was thrown into an off-road vehicle by a group of half-breeds who found him. When he woke up, he did not give up either. His regret had mutated into a frantic, obsessive desperation. For the next week, caravans of rare treasures and lavish gifts arrived at Erick's pack grounds in a steady stream. He even issued a public proclamation across the packs to admit his wrongs and declare that I was his only true mate.To me, everything he was doing was just harassment. Every gift was returned untouched, along with a letter that only had two words—"Stop it."Half a month later, a grand ritual was held in the camp. I was arranged to be mates with pureblood Alpha Erick.Lucian snuck in and hid in the shadows, staring at the high platform with greedy, desperate hunger. He watched as the tall, powerful Erick took my hand and gently slid a ring onto my finger.A radiant crown was placed on my head and caught l

  • The Alpha Wants Me Back? Denied.   Chapter 9

When Lucian kicked Sadie's door open, she was frantically packing her bags in an attempt to flee. When she saw him standing there, shrouded in terrifying fury, she collapsed onto the floor in fright. "Lucian… Let me explain, my dear. The head healer framed me…""Shut up."With a flick of his wrist, he hurled the report in her face. "A hysterectomy? Healing magic?" he said, advancing step by step. "Sadie, every word you've spoken these ten years has been a lie."Realizing the game was up, the fear in Sadie's eyes shifted into venom. In one sudden lunge, she seized Conan, who was cowering by the door, wrapped an arm around his neck, and pressed a dagger to his throat."Don't come closer, or I'll slit his throat! He's not even mine anyway!"Lucian froze, but Conan, who had been sobbing quietly, suddenly glared with pure hatred. He opened his mouth and sank his fangs into Sadie's wrist. When she screamed and dropped the dagger, Lucian seized the chance to shatter both her knees.

After returning to the pack grounds, Lucian seemed to have lost his soul. He shut himself in his study as the cold detachment in my eyes at Luminal Concord played on a loop in his mind.Meanwhile, the humiliated Sadie took out all her rage on Conan. "Stop crying! All you ever do is cry! Even your deadbeat mother doesn't want you anymore!"She dug her nails into his arm and left deep marks, while Conan curled into a ball from the pain.Late that night, Conan grew so desperate for my scent that he sneaked into the master bedroom and hoped to find a piece of my old clothing. The closet door was ajar. He was about to slip inside when he heard Sadie enter, already on the phone.Terrified, he hid deep within the hanging clothes. "Lucian is such a fool. He hasn't even noticed a thing," she said, her venomous voice dripping with contempt. "Pregnant? Please. Thanks to the dark magic potion I used daily to mimic a pregnant scent, and a little illusionary magic to make my stomach look r

  • The Alpha Wants Me Back? Denied.   Chapter 7

Three months later, the neighboring packs gathered for Luminal Concord.Lucian brought Sadie and Conan along. On the surface, it was a trip to soothe the pregnant Sadie, but in reality, it was his desperate attempt to search for my whereabouts. For three months, he had searched like a madman and scoured every single corner of the pack grounds, only to find nothing. Luminal Concord was his final hope. The square was bustling. Sadie squeezed into an ill-fitting gown as she arrogantly bossed Conan around, making him fetch treats and trinkets. He scurried back and forth with a timid, weary look in his eyes."Have you heard? A new healer arrived in the free trade zone.""They say she's a miracle-worker. My broken leg has been aching for three months, and the pain vanished after she touched it once.""And she's beautiful. I heard even a pureblood Alpha has taken interest in her…"Murmurs of the crowd reached Lucian's ears. Driven by an irresistible instinct, he shoved through the crow

After leaving the pack house, I headed straight to the neutral zone. There, I found a reclusive witch and sought her help to completely sever my bond with Lucian."Forcing a one-sided severance will wound you deeply, my pup,"I stared at her with an unwavering gaze. "I'd rather die free than live bound."Soon, the ritual began. When I drank the potion infused with severance energy, it felt as if my soul was being ripped in two. Agony surged through my veins before I coughed up blood and collapsed. But when I looked at the blood, I smiled.…At the Bloodfang pack, Lucian was dealing with pack affairs when his heart buckled. A jagged, agonizing sensation ripped through his chest and threw him off the chair, onto the floor. His wolf howled inside him with a guttural, soul-shattering despair. The invisible thread that had linked his soul to mine was permanently severed by a force he couldn't stand a chance of fighting back."No…" he roared in anguish, kneeling on the floor. That w

  • The Alpha Wants Me Back? Denied.   Chapter 5

When Lucian spotted the farewell letter on the desk, his first reaction was a storm of rage. It was the fury of an Alpha whose authority had been challenged."Ylva! You're playing these games again!" he roared, veins bulging across the back of his hand as he snatched up the letter and tore it to shreds."Seal the borderlands!" he barked orders at the guards at the door."If she thinks running away will threaten me, she must be dreaming. In three days, she'll come crawling back, crying and begging like she always does!"He was certain of that. After all, I had loved him with such lowly devotion for ten years. That night, the pack house was eerily silent. Lucian lay on the massive bed with the empty space beside him. The faint, lingering scent of herbs was fading away.He closed his eyes and tried to sleep, but his wolf began to thrash in his body. It was a primal, soul-deep panic.Within his consciousness, his wolf paced anxiously and whimpered with the terror of losing its mate.
