Morning broke gray and cold over the Iron Fang pack. I rose before the first howl, restless. Sleep had been a stranger to me all night, thoughts of Elara gnawing at my mind. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her face, the look on it was defiant, furious, and still somehow soft beneath all the rage.
