Chapter 9

Author: Crystal K
Arthur’s POV

“Alpha! A memory crystal from Silverwood!”

Arthur took the faintly glowing crystal, a sense of dread washing over him.

The crystal flared to life. He saw Calista, her face twisted into a mask of cold venom he'd never seen before.

“I want her dead,” she hissed to the assassins. “Kill her, and Arthur will be mine again.”

“Luna, what if we fail?”

“You won’t fail,” Calista sneered. “Samara is just an ordinary Beta now, and you are Blackmoon’s most elite killers. Besides, even if you’re caught, I’ll say you acted alone. It will have nothing to do with me.”

The scene continued. Arthur saw the assassins infiltrate Silverwood. He saw Rhys get injured protecting Samara. He saw the fury on Samara’s face…

CRASH!

Arthur slammed the crystal onto the floor, where it shattered into a thousand pieces.

“Guards!” he roared. “Bring me Calista!”

Soon, Calista was dragged into the study by the guards.

She still wore her pitiful, innocent expression, but now when Arthur looked at her, he saw no

  • The Alpha Who Threw Me Away   Chapter 11

On the final night of the gathering, Stonering was lit as bright as day by countless torches. The Moon Goddess Blessing ceremony was about to begin.I stood on the high platform of the altar in a silver battle gown, Rhys at my side.As the Head War Strategist of the Silverwood Pack and the most talked-about figure at the gathering, I naturally stood at the center of power.“In the name of the Moon Goddess,” Rhys’s powerful voice echoed through the night. He turned to me and, before the eyes of all, knelt on one knee, presenting an ancient wooden box carved with the World Tree.He opened it.Inside lay a perfect “Heart of the Moon” gem, a stone that seemed to hold the entire moon within it.A collective gasp went through the crowd.“I, Rhys, Alpha King of Silverwood,” he declared, his voice thrumming with a power that silenced the crowd, “do not ask for a mate to stand behind me. I ask for a Queen to rule at my side. Samara Snow-Fang, will you be my Queen?”This wasn't just a proposal.

Samara’s POVThree months later, the neutral territory of the Great Stonehenge hosted the North's most prestigious event: The Grand Moot of Alphas.I stood in the center of our camp, clad in silver-white battle armor specially made by the Silverwood Pack, the badge of the Head War Advisor gleaming on my chest. In the last three months, under my command, the Silverwood legions had resolved seven border conflicts. My name, "Sera, the War Goddess," had spread throughout the North. In the distance, I saw the Blackmoon Pack's camp. The atmosphere was heavy and oppressive, a stark contrast to the camps around it."Samara." A hoarse voice came from behind me.I turned to see Arthur. He looked... broken. The Alpha swagger that had once defined him was gone, replaced by the hollowed-out shell of a wolf haunted by his own mistakes.Calista stood behind him, still dressed in fine clothes, but the gentle smile on her face was stiff and unnatural. What surprised me most was Leo.He no longer looke

Samara’s POVThe shrill sound of the midnight alarm shattered the peace of Silverwood.I shot up in bed, grabbing the weapon beside me.Outside, the sky was lit with fire, and the sounds of battle raged."Samara!" Rhys burst through the door, his battle armor still dripping with blood. "Blackmoon assassins! At least fifty of them!"I quickly donned my armor and followed him out.The hallway was littered with the bodies of Silverwood warriors. Blood spattered the walls.I knew the assassins' methods all too well. The Blackmoon Pack's elite unit."They're after you," Rhys grunted, driving his blade through an assassin's chest. "They want you alive."I sneered. "Arthur has lost his mind.""Lady Samara!" one of the assassins roared. "The Alpha commands us to bring you home! You belong to Blackmoon!""I belong to no one," I said, my scepter's obsidian tip piercing his throat. "Tell Arthur his delusions are over."More assassins swarmed us from all sides.Their goal was clear: distract Rhys

Arthur’s POVThe rage that had consumed Arthur for three days finally burned out, leaving only cold ash.He stood on the highest battlement of the castle, staring out at the forest he had once scoured for her.A phantom pain clawed at his chest. The place where their souls once connected was now a raw, gaping wound. The mate bond wasn't just severed. It was gone.“Alpha, are you alright?” Elder Miranda approached, her voice laced with concern.“Find out where Samara has been for the last three years,” Arthur commanded, his voice raw. “Use every scout we have. Spare no expense.”Three days later, the first report came in.The news didn't just shock him. • The Alpha Who Threw Me Away   Chapter 6

I let out a dry laugh. Nothing. In my last life, that’s what I was. I had measured my worth by his love, by the pack’s approval. I gave up everything I had built during my three years away to stand by someone who didn't deserve it, right up until my death. But in this life, I would prove them all wrong.I am Samara. I am no one's property."Let's go," I said to Rhys. The Silverwood wolves began to move. The sound of hooves faded as the castle behind us grew smaller.I didn't look back. There was nothing for me there but ghosts and ashes. The legion reached the border of Silverwood territory at dawn.Seeing the familiar city built among the giant, ancient trees, a warmth spread through my chest.I had fought for this place for three years. When I first woke up here, every pack member treated me with kindness. They respected me for my contributions.Even when I decided to leave, they all told me the same thing."If you're not happy in that pack, you can always come back."After two li
