Chapter 10

I looked around the hallway and tried to walk normally.

I mean as normal as one who has a plan under their sleeves would walk.

Cautiously, I took another step forward and I felt giddy inside as I saw the bright blue sky, something I hadn't seen in the three days I've been here.

I crossed the threshold of the large doors and the crisp smell of air wafted through my nostrils, causing me to inhale deeply and filling me with warmth.

A small smile spread across my cheeks and I wished I had more time to bask in the warmth of the sun but I knew I had limited time.

I stepped on the grass and barely another step later, the world flipped to the side and my body collided with the ground with a loud thud.

“Oww,” I grunted loudly and turned upward, still laying on the ground.

Two guards came in view, standing above me with their swords drawn.

“What are you doing?” The meaner one asked.

Standing up there, staring down at me, and me laying down here with the sun threatening to blind me, wasn't exact
