Ava's POV
I was still in the room that my asshole of a mate left me in. Not having anything else to do, I stood to my feet and took a look around. The room looked like it belonged to a male and if the smell was anything to go by, then this was his room.
The only colors I could see were grey and black. He did not like color at all. His room looked so depressing, like there wasn't any personal touch to it. He just had everything he needed and added a few abstract paintings.
This room might have looked depressing, but it was nowhere close to how depressing my 'room' was. It was the nicest room I have ever had the pleasure of being in that I did not have to clean.
"Hi" I heard a voice and turned around to the doorway. I didn't even realize that someone had entered the room until now.
There was a girl standing in the doorway. She was probably 5'4, with dark curly hair and caramel skin tone. She had honey brown eyes, a straight nose and pouty lips. She was very beautiful and the white summer dress that she wore, made her look like an angel.
"Um... Hi" I waved awkwardly, feeling a bit self-conscious in my oversized clothes.
"The al- I mean Jay sent me to keep your company" she said with a polite smile.
"Jay?" I was confused.
"Yeah, he brought you in here," she said, giving me a strange look.
Jay.
At least I won't have to refer to him as 'asshole' or 'jerk' anymore.
"Oh right" I said, wanting to facepalm myself.
"I'm Katie," she introduced herself.
"I'm Ava," I replied.
"Well Ava, would you like me to give you a house tour?"
"Sure" I replied unsurely.
"Great!" she said, clapping her hands excitedly.
We walked out the room and she showed me around. I couldn't help all the stares I got as I walked by pack members. They were probably wondering why I was here, and so was I. I get that mates normally moved in together when they found each other, but he didn't even say anything to me other than that I was his.
I could feel the stares boring in the back of my head as I walked by. I could hear the whispers as they no doubt were talking about me.
"Do you know why I'm here?" I asked Katie.
"Everyone does. You're the lu- I mean you're Jay's mate" she said with a nervous smile.
Weird, she was hiding something from me. They all were, but I didn't know what it was or why they were hiding it. She always started saying something, only to stop mid sentence and correct herself.
"Speaking of mates, where is the alpha?" I asked curiously.
"He's away," she said looking anywhere, but at me. She was a terrible liar.
"You're lying," I stated.
"Look, I can't answer all your questions because it's not my place to say" she said, giving me an apologetic smile.
"Are you hungry?" She changed the subject.
"I can eat," I said, even though I was starving. I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday morning.
We went to the kitchen and everyone stopped what they were doing to stare at me. I moved behind Katie to shield myself from their curious stares.
"Nothing to see here!" she exclaimed and everyone went back to what they were doing.
"Is this her?" A girl asked, giving me a disgusted look.
"Everyone, this is Ava" Katie introduced me and I waved awkwardly as a greeting.
"She doesn't look like much. Is she even a werewolf?" the same girl asked, glaring at me.
Ok. What's her problem?
"Stella, you know that you shouldn't talk that way to Ava" Katie warned.
"I can do whatever the fuck I want" she snapped.
She got up off the stool that she was sitting on and walked over to where I was. She circled me like a predator would do to its prey.
"Pathetic human" she spat in disgust.
"I'm not a human," I mumbled.
"What was that? I couldn't quite catch that?" she said with a mocking smirk.
"I said, I'm not a human"
"Right..." she drawled out.
"You don't deserve him! I do. You're pathetic and weak. You'll never be able to satisfy him the way I do" she whispered in my ear.
Upon hearing her words, it felt like my heart shattered in a million tiny pieces. He had slept with her. And here I was saving myself for a mate that couldn't even keep it in his pants.
Suddenly I felt a rage. A rage I have never felt before. It was like something took over, because next thing I knew I spun around and shoved her to the ground. I got on top of her and delivered punch after punch.
I was blinded by anger and hurt, and I wanted someone to take it out on and she was here. She managed to maneuver me and flipped us over. I was now at the end of her fist receiving her powerful hits. I tried to block them, but it was no use.
I didn't have any training when it came to fighting. I honestly didn't know how to defend myself and my wolf was still refusing to make an appearance. I was coughing up blood now as she continued her assault.
She flipped me over so that I was on my belly and twisted my arms behind me.
"Pathetic" she whispered in my ear, before I heard a snap followed by excruciating pain.
I screamed out in pain and agony, and she got up off me. Tears blurred my vision as I tried to move my left hand. The more I tried to move it, the more pain I felt.
"What did you do?" someone shouted.
"She asked for it. She attacked me"
"You didn't have to break her arm!" the person screeched.
Katie moved next to me and helped me sit upright. I held my broken arm to my chest as the tears kept falling. Pushing past the pain I gripped my left hand with my right and snapped back the bone in its rightful position.
My hand healed immediately and everyone looked at me in shock and wonder. Oh right. I have powers, rare powers that I have never told anyone about.
I could heal faster than any wolf. I could also use my powers to heal or hurt others. I've tried to avoid using it in front of people, because I didn't want anyone to find out and take advantage of my powers.
According to the books I've read, it states that the most powerful healer is born every hundred years. It also said that the healer was here to cleanse and bring peace to the world. I was here to heal and protect.
"How did you do that?" Katie asked, lost for words as she stared at me with wide eyes.
"Don't all werewolves heal?" I asked, trying to convince them that it was normal.
"Yeah, but not that fast"
"What’s going on here?" an authoritative voice boomed.
"She attacked me," Stella pointed at me and ran into my mate's arms.
What hurt the most was that he didn't even attempt to push her away as she clung to him. I felt a pang of jealousy looking at her in his arms. He wasn't hugging her or anything; he just stood there staring at me.
Stella turned back to me and gave me a victorious smirk before she buried her face in his chest. I wanted more than anything to cry.
Not wanting anyone to see the tears trying to break free, I got up off the ground and ran out of the room.
What were you expecting, Ava?
Did you really think he would have run to your rescue and swoop you off your feet like a prince charming.
This wasn't a fairytale. This was reality. I have to accept that there was a possibility that what Stella had said might be true.
I was about to go outside for some much needed fresh air when the door burst open. A man ran in carrying a small boy in his arms covered in blood.
"What happened?" I asked and he ignored me and rushed inside the kitchen. I ran in after him to see him putting the small boy on the counter. Without thinking twice I walked up to the counter, squeezing through the crowd to get to him.
"I can help him" I said and leaned forward to hear his faint heartbeat.
If he didn't get medical attention right away, he was going to die.
Ava's POV"I need some space" I said trying to back everyone up off me so that I could heal the child. They took steps back away from me and I checked the boy to see how badly wounded he was. I let out a horrified gasp as I took in the child's appearance. It was a nasty bite at the left side of his hip. There was even a chunk of flesh missing from there.Quickly springing into action, I covered his wound with both my hands and took deep breaths in. I closed my eyes as I tried to focus my powers on healing the boy. I felt a warm tingly feeling in my hands as my skin burned, not in a way that it hurt.I opened my eyes and watched as a yellow glow shone from under my hands and onto the boy. Looking at my hands I could see the gold swirls in my hands as the power flowed out of me and
Ava's POVWe were now all alone in the room. He studied me with his eyes as he took in every feature of my wolf. He took a step forward and my wolf backed away.Wait what?'I thought you were excited to meet our mate' I said in my mind, as I talked to my wolf.'He cheated on us!' she answered with a huff.I didn't bother saying anything else because I knew we were both hurt from what that red haired bitch, Stella had said earlier. I don't know if what she said was true or if she was trying to get under my skin, but it was working. When I had hit her, I was shocked at first, but that shock soon turne
Ava's POV "What's wrong?" she asked, shaking my shoulder. "No-nothing" I said, getting up. "I'm not feeling well," I said not looking at her. "Ok. Let's head back to the pack house" she suggested getting up as well. On our way back to the pack house all I could do was think about the person I saw. Josh was here, but why. I knew deep down that he was here for me, but at the same time I would like to believe that he was here on other business. As soon as I entered the pack house, I wanted more than anything to run out of there. There was a group of familiar boys standing in the foyer talking to Stella. To be more specific, they were flirting with her. As soon as the door closed behind me, their attention drifted from her and focused on me. I gulped in fear as I backed away from their murderous glares. "Ava, we have been looking all over for you. Father has been worried sick ever since you ran away" Caleb stepped forward and embraced me in a brotherly hug. I stood awkwardly as he
Jayden's POVFuck. This was the worst possible time for me to find my mate. After years of searching and coming up short, I finally found her. I found her when I no longer felt the need to have a mate. The only reason why I even brought her back with me was to appease my wolf.I've always wanted a strong mate, but when I met her I could practically smell how weak and pathetic she was. She couldn't rule by my side. She couldn't even stand up for herself much less stand up for thousands of people. How wrong I was.She had managed to prove me wrong and left my pack shocked and speechless. Never in a million years did I ever imagine that my mate would actually be 'the angel'.
Jayden's POVFixing my cloak so that it concealed my face completely, I stepped out of the car. I walked up to the entrance of the pack house where alpha Benjamin of the Crystal Blue pack was waiting with a polite smile. That smile won't be there for long though."Alpha Jayden, to what do we owe the pleasure of you gracing us with your presence?" he asked with a bow.I nodded in acknowledgement and could see from my peripheral vision that his son was glaring daggers at me. I turned my attention to him and he straightened up quickly and bowed to show his respect.I smirked in satisfaction and focused my attention back on his father. He ushered me inside and led me to what I presumed was his office. When we got inside he took a seat behind his desk and I took the seat in front of the desk
Ava's POVThree weeks. It has been three weeks since I last saw him. After I found out that he was the alpha of the North pack, I haven't seen him since.I wasn't complaining though, my wolf was. She has been a hot mess for the past three weeks. Sometimes she wouldn't talk to me for days, other times she would just sit in a corner and cry. It was depressing to see her like this and I needed something to help get her back in her good spirits.I knew that if she was close enough to him, she would feel a little better. So that was what we were going to do today. I was going on a wolf hunt for my mate to appease my wolf. I would do anything for her, and if that meant facing someone who wanted nothing to do with us, then so be it. She was worth it.
Ava's POV"Ah" I screamed as a wave of pain shot through my body.I woke up in the middle of the night with my skin feeling as though it was on fire. Something was wrong and I couldn't understand why this was happening to me and why now.Not being able to handle the heat, I immediately began to get undress in order to somewhat expose my heated body to the chilly night. This however did nothing to help at all as another wave of intense heat washed over me.I curled up on the bed in a fetal position in just my underwear. I needed to cool down. Any form of cold would be great right now. With that thought in mind I rolled out of the bed and crawled on the floor to the bathroom. My legs felt like jelly whenever I tried to stand, so I just d
Ava's POVOpening my eyes I let out a tired yawn and stretched out my sore limbs. I rolled over on my back and thought back to what happened last night. I was beyond exhausted from all the events from last night. I checked the time on the alarm clock and was shocked by what it read.It was 3 pm in the evening. I couldn't believe that I had managed to sleep through the day and still woke up feeling exhausted. I was feeling a lot better, no thanks to Jayden.Slowly all the events of last night came rushing back to me and I couldn't help but feel sad. I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry my eyes out. After I had confirmed to Jayden that I wanted to have sex, he left. That asshole left me in pain. That was rejection on a different level. I was now more than a hundred percent sure that he w
