The next day during breakfast, Blaze noted that Lilith wasn't as cautious as she had been around him. But, she was still not quite comfortable with him around the house.
This annoyed his wolf and he wouldn’t stop rambling about this. Blaze groaned when Bash’s constant bickering prevented him from completing the paper works he had to hand over by this evening. He kept forcing Blaze to think of something to make Lilith feel better until Blaze caved in.Blaze mind linked Katherine. 'Can you tell Lilith to come meet me in my office?''What are you up to?' Katherine's question came out sounding suspicious.'Nothing! I'm... can you just tell her, please?' Blaze was slightly miffed seeing Katherine's suspicion of him.'Okay.' Bash gave a small whine of triumph after hearing Katherine's reply.Blaze pushed himself off the wall he was leaning against and stood straighter once he saw Lilith coming down the hallway to meet him in front of his office a few minutes latThe overwhelming feeling of panic and dread consumed Lilith as she ran for her life. The panic coursing through her felt different this time. It was deeper in the way it surrounded her. It lured her awareness of everything except what it deemed as a threat, the six pairs of paws chasing her.She begged her legs to move faster. She could hear their ragged breathing mixed with their frustrated growls getting louder and closer. All at once, she felt a forceful jerk against the back of her legs as if one of the three wolves following her directly rammed into her from behind. She found herself falling. She abruptly met the ground. A painful cry of agony left her mouth. She felt sharp claws digging into her back, tearing her shirt as she tried to get away. They harshly pulled her from the spot that she was in, a snarl sounding close to her ears. The sudden action caused a sharp yelp from her before she was pulled into something hard, the hold now
Lilith pushed Bash away and with trembling legs, rushed inside the bathroom. She locked the bathroom door. With her back pressed against the door, she tried to control her uneven breath. It was just Bash. It was just Bash. She repeatedly thought.Blaze forced Bash into submission and shifted back into his human form.‘Something is wrong with Lilith. She needs us.’ Bash refused to let Blaze walk out.‘You scared her. That’s what is wrong with her.’ Blaze scolded him before blocking him.Lilith walked downstairs after she had taken a bath. She felt fresh and ready to face yet another day imprisoned in Blaze’s mansion.A faint smile crossed her lips when she saw Katherine dusting the couches.“What happened? Is something wrong?” Lilith asked Katherine whose face appeared unsettled.Blaze sat upright to check on Katherine too once he heard Lilith.“News about your
His lips touched hers. How could a touch so soft, so barely there, be so wonderful? Lilith thought. He wasn’t even kissing her. It was just his mouth against hers, light as a whisper.Yet, sparks, lots of them flared up, shooting through her like a blazing hot wire. She was being controlled by the mate bond, she realized. She pushed at his chest, forcing him to pull away. She fought the urge to touch her lips. They were still tingling. If a peck sent so much pleasure coursing through her, what would a real kiss feel like?Would she be able to stop herself if they had kissed? She trembled in fear when she noted she probably wouldn’t have been able to stop herself.“The next time I catch you trying to run away, you will be punished.” Blaze whispered into her ear, his lips brushing against her earlobe.Lilith couldn’t stop the whimper that escaped her mouth.Satisfied, Blaze relea
Blaze couldn’t stop Bash from taking in another lungful of her enticing scent which consumed them whole. Noticing something absurd, Lilith’s heart skipped a beat in nervousness as she took in the stiffness in Blaze’s body. His eyes were wide and already shifting from silver to blue. Lilith watched as panic flashed across Blaze’s face for just a second before his body acted, slouching in pain and letting out a little groan of frustration. The light hairs on the skin of his arm all stood straight. His next exhale came with a slight shake, head slowly turning away from Lilith. He fisted his hands. The shards of glass he was holding crushed and dug into his flesh. Blood soon dripped across his fingers and spilled onto the ground, sending the crimson liquid down to stain the tiled floor at his feet. The scene in front of Lilith sent her insides twisting in a different manner she was used to, making the gasp taking over her sound like a panicked sob. Sh
A knock sounded on the door. Lilith got up from the window seat after flipping the opened book she was reading upside down. She opened the bedroom door to find Blaze standing on the other side. “Care to tell me what was that all about?” Lilith asked him. “I’ll be gone for two days. Katherine will come to stay with you by tonight.” He stated. “Is it about the full moon?” Lilith queried, slightly annoyed that he completely ignored her first question. Blaze simply nodded. ‘She looks good in this t-shirt.’ Bash commented, referring to Blaze’s t-shirt which fortunately Lilith was still wearing. “Wear these clothes. You need to conceal your scent.” He gave her some of his clothes which should last for the two days he’d be gone. Lilith nodded while looking down at the stack of clothes currently sitting on her outstretched hands. Surprisingly, when Lilith looked back up, Blaze was gone. Almost as if he had disap
Blaze was just about to step outside the pack’s boundaries when he sensed something wrong. His doubts were confirmed when he felt Bash whimper in his head, ‘something feels wrong.’ ‘Lilith!’ They both exclaimed at the same time. Nothing else needed to be said. Blaze moved on his own accord, his evolved speed zipping him through the path and across multiple trees to shorten the distance between him and Lilith. He was completely blown away by the sight which greeted him once he reached Lilith’s room. Jayden had Lilith trapped under him and was millimeters from tearing her bra. Her painful cries and whimpers of protest tore at his heart. Bash went out of control in his mind. A loud growl, so fierce and powerful, emitted out of him, one which sent the ground shaking beneath his feet as he ripped Jayden off Lilith’s struggling body. Once Blaze saw Lilith’s teared up eyes and disheveled state, he was enraged. He acted
Lilith's heart pumped heavy in her ears, processing everything that she just witnessed and what Blaze's actions meant to her. Her mind was still too scrambled to even figure out where to start that she just laid her head onto his shoulder and remained quiet. She didn't know what he was trying to attempt, all she knew is that her touch has succeeded in calming his wolf. It was the only solution she could think of and even then she wasn't completely convinced if being in this position right now, was a good move.Another couple of haggard breaths, he had calmed down completely. Lilith felt his tightened muscles loosening. She felt her heart skipping a beat when his forehead fell onto her shoulder, one arm around her, and the other on her hip, both holding her tight to him. From the feel of it, his claws had now disappeared as well. She didn't dispute the sudden position change, instead, she found herself favoring it at this moment. It was comforting to be i
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," said a shrill voice from inside. That gravelly accent was unmistakable. "Patricia Kyteler?"The old woman inclined her head regally. She now stood in the doorway of her house, dressed in a long white skirt and a short sleeves black blouse. Gold bracelets glittered on her wrists and gold chains roped her throat. Her long smoky-grey hair was straggled in a bun pinned to the top of her head. She just appeared out of nowhere like her house.Blaze was still staring. "But...""Your kind is not welcomed here." Patricia stated with a mocking cheerfulness that, Blaze felt, didn't really fit the circumstances. Patricia glanced around the entryway with a faint concern over her face. If Blaze hadn't already been looking at her, he would have missed it. "But you're a human," Blaze said, finally finishing his sentence."So observant," said Patricia, her eyes gleaming. "Your father really told you about his past
