Lloyd's POV

I hurried down the hall to the guestroom where Lena was staying and tumbled through and froze.

Davina was right after all; Lena was gone. My hands went to my waist at akimbo, and minutes later, Elora joined me.

“She wasn’t lying,” Elora said.

“Why would she run away?” I turned to her.

She shook her head. “I don’t know. We didn’t scare her, did we?”

Davina walked through the open door, breezing past us for Lena’s bed.

She sniffed around, then turned to us. “You can still find her if you really want to. Try to think of this as a kind of opportunity, you know?”

“How?” Elora’s eyes slightly widened.

A smirk appeared on Davina’s lips. “You all wanted to talk to my daughter, right? This is a golden opportunity for you to do that.”

Elora and I exchanged glances.

“What’s it going to be?” Davina said.

“You can leave tonight and pick up her trail. You can also leave in the morning. I’ll conduct an enchantment that will help you follow her trail.”
