Chapter 73 - Unfinished Business

"Since when was that here?" The confusion laced through Eva's voice, cautiously stretching closer to the entrance on the floor.

The door was hung open, revealing an almost dark alleyway to the basement, if not for the shadowy hue of redness and orangeness accompanying the area.

"They're not in their room." Nico hollered from the stairs, his boots tucking to the woods as he made his way to the living room.

"They're not in the kitchen either," Ethan suddenly appeared from the corner, he swept his hand till it was visible to my eyes.

A piece of bacon dangled between his fingers, before he popped it in his mouth, "... With an unfinished breakfast. This does not look good, Nat."

Ignoring the fact that he ate someone else's food, my mind concentrated on his unsettling words. It sure seemed far out.

Where would they go, in such a hurry, that they had left the door unlocked, food unattended, and room emptied. As though they're still in the house, but not quite.
