Chapter 87 - Thankful Reassurance

"Father had called, again. We need to head back later this week, Nat."

A hum left my throat. My head tilted on the headrest of the velvet sofa lazily, finding the ceiling rather interesting than the whole conversation.

Even my eyes had almost fluttered closed sleepily with how cool it was inside the guest house, seeing the sunlight almost burnt the bird's nest to dust just outside the window.

"Nat, do you hear me?" Ethan's voice once again greeted my ear drum, sounding more urgently. I glanced at him sidedly before darted my attention again on the white ceiling.

Huh, weren't there supposed to have four lamps? One, two, three…

Ah, there's four. I knew I counted them right–

"Nathan!" He hollered incredulously.

I heaved a sigh heedlessly. "I know."

It wasn't the first time father had sent those from our pack, urging for our return. It had been several days past since the hearing, so most of them, including Nico had already returned to Luna territory.

Though, he was quite
