SERAPHINA’S POV

I sat in Professor Hawthorne’s History of Magical Societies class, trying to focus on her lecture about ancient ward structures after the tongue-in-cheek mention about being in the school’s sorority. For once, my day had been almost normal. My roommates hadn't stolen anything from my belongings this morning. No one had whispered "witch whore" when I walked past. The cruel rumors that had followed me for days seemed to have finally died down.

I knew I had Ciara to thank for that. Whatever she'd said in class the other day had actually worked. People were leaving me alone, treating me like a regular student instead of some cursed pariah. Not that I was going to thank her for it. The last thing I needed was the golden girl thinking she was my salvation.

"You are also about to see something very interesting with your gems and charms today." The professor continued.

I looked up, interested in what that could mean.

"Why is that?" Ciara asked.

The professor chuckled. Like it

RONAN’S POVThe headmistress's office was on the third floor, tucked away in the administrative wing where students rarely ventured. The hallway stretched ahead of me, dimly lit by ancient sconces that cast dancing shadows on the stone walls. My footsteps echoed softly against the polished floor.Riona drifted beside me, her translucent form barely visible in the low light. She moved without sound, her ghostly presence both comforting and unnerving. We'd been planning this for weeks, but now that the moment was here, my heart hammered against my ribs."Just ahead," she whispered, her voice carrying an otherworldly quality that made my skin prickle. The heavy wooden door to the headmistress's office came into view. Intricate carvings covered its surface, depicting scenes of magical creatures and ancient symbols of protection. How fitting.I reached for the brass handle, but five figures stepped out of the shadows before I could touch it.The sentinels. They were massive, each one easil

RONAN’S POVI stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my black tie for the third time. The fabric kept slipping through my fingers, and I couldn't seem to get it right. My hands were shaking more than I wanted to admit. My phone buzzed on the dresser. Another message from my mother. Why are you not picking my calls? I am close.I stared at the text, then set the phone face down without responding. She could wait. She'd been waiting my entire life to control me, so a few more minutes wouldn't kill her.The tie finally cooperated, sitting straight against my white dress shirt. I looked presentable enough. Not that it mattered. Tonight wasn't about looking good or making small talk or pretending to enjoy myself. Tonight was about finishing what I'd started.Riona had promised to reach out today. I'd spent the past week mapping out the academy's protective barrier, tracking its source back to the headmistress's office. The sentinels would be guarding it during the graduation ball, but I w

SPECIAL CHAPTER: SARAH’S POVI watched Ciara move across the dance floor with Darragh, and something warm settled in my chest. She looked radiant in that midnight blue dress, her face lit up with pure joy. After everything she'd been through, seeing her this happy made me feel like the world was finally right again. To think I despised her to the bone once. The way Darragh looked at her was something out of a romantic movie. Like she was the only person in the entire crowded hall. They moved together perfectly, completely lost in each other. This was what real love looked like.A hand touched my shoulder, and I turned around expecting to see Pippa. Instead, I found myself looking into the familiar hazel eyes of my mother."Mother!" I threw my arms around her, genuinely surprised and happy. "What are you doing here? I thought you couldn't make it.""I couldn't miss my daughter's graduation," she said, holding me tight. My mother, Margaret Morgan looked exactly the same as always. Perfe

TWO WEEKS AND A FEW DAYS LATERCIARA'S POVI pulled the midnight blue dress from my wardrobe and held it up against my body. The fabric caught the evening light streaming through the dormitory window, and I could hear Darragh's voice in my memory telling me how good I looked in it. How I looked like a goddess. My cheeks warmed at the thought."That color is incredible on you," Pippa said from across the room. She was already dressed, and I had to stop and stare. The deep-plum velvet hugged her curves perfectly. The high neckline and structured shoulders made her look regal, while the slit at the side added just enough edge. Her black satin gloves reached her elbows, but silver thread embroidered across them made them look like art instead of just accessories. The silver waist chain around her middle caught the light and broke up all that dark fabric in the most beautiful way."Pippa, you look absolutely stunning," I said, meaning every word. "That purple makes your hair look like spun

DARRAGH’S POVThe dining room felt smaller than I expected for an estate this size. Warm light from the chandelier cast everything in gold, and the scent of Jade's shepherd's pie filled the air like comfort made tangible. She had set three places at one end of the long table, bringing us together instead of spreading us out like strangers.Jade bustled around the table, serving portions that could feed a small army. Her movements were efficient but loving, the kind that came from years of taking care of people. She placed a plate in front of me that was piled high with meat and vegetables and perfectly golden crust."Eat up," she said with a smile that reminded me so much of Ciara it made my chest tight. "You look like you haven't had a proper meal in days."She wasn't wrong. Between the stress of knowing Riona was planning something and the actual battle with the demons, food had been the last thing on my mind. But now, sitting in this warm room with the immediate danger past, I real

EWAN’S POVI didn't expect to see Eamon at the Brotherhood party. The Fir house was packed with people celebrating the end of the Solar Zenith, music thumping through the walls and laughter echoing from every corner. But there he was, standing near the bar with a drink in his hand, looking like he belonged there even though I knew he wasn't much for parties."Didn't expect to see you here," I said, walking up to him.He turned, and I caught the flash of relief in his eyes when he saw me. "Needed the distraction," I admitted before he could ask. "How's Ciara?""She's fine," Eamon said, taking a sip of his drink. "Resting. I'm shocked she's not here, actually. Girl could use some fun after everything.""After everything that happened, she definitely deserves a breather." I grabbed a bottle from the bar, needing something to do with my hands. The party felt too loud, too bright, like it was trying too hard to be buzz and lit.Eamon glanced around the room, taking in the crowd of students
