Introduction

This is the story set in a universe where the Werewolves rule over the planet and the humans are their slaves. The Werewolves have left only half of the human population. Some of them were killed and some turned and took their places in the packs all around the world. 

The humans work and pay their taxes to the Alpha of their country. The Alphas are what kings were to humans. The Werewolf hierarchy is as follows:

Each kingdom is ruled by an Alpha, Usually, the Alpha title is passed on from generation to generation but if someone from the lower ranks dares to challenge the Alpha to a duel, a fight to death, and can show his dominance and his strength then he would be declared as the new Alpha.

The Alpha’s right-hand man or ‘the false Alpha’ is the Beta - the second in command. Can replace the Alpha in case they are not around. Beta’s acts as the advisor and the only person with whom the Alpha maintains direct contact.

A bond between the Alpha and its Beta is stronger than blood. Betas help maintain discipline in the pack. Deltas of the packs are third in the hierarchy and they have to watch the territories, train soldiers, and keep the borders clear. Deltas report to Betas. Deltas also include caretakers and health workers.

Gammas are similar to Deltas in terms of hierarchy, Gammas help to take care of the Omegas, and help the needy of the pack. They are the head of the administrative work and help to provide the pack with basic amenities and make sure resources are distributed equally and fairly.

In short, Alpha is the King who gives the order, Beta is his advisor who oversees the work and passes the Alpha’s orders and the rest of them are the ones that do the work. 

Humans however are considered as inferior. Weak. They are given meager jobs like agriculture, or lower office work, like handling the land rents etc. Humans also work in the kingdom as slaves, Alpha’s soldiers or their bodyguards.

The Alpha, The Beta and his wife all three of them have a bodyguard. They are considered the most important people in the whole country. Hence the protection. 

My family has been serving the Alpha’s for generations as bodyguards. My family never has had a generation where a daughter was the one who was earning for the whole family. 

Usually the world expected the son of the house to take that responsibility, but I had no choice. Women were expected to be married by eighteen or twenty maximum. I was twenty one, and unmarried. And played the role of a man in society. I was alright with it but a fear lingered in my heart of the day when I would be caught. And that day would truly be one to remember.

They said the Alpha was ruthless. And now I was his bodyguard.
