Se connecterChapter 5: Hidden Wounds
Camille’s POV
I was busy at the sink, washing the last of the plates, my hands cold and wet. The water ran over my fingers, but I barely noticed. My mind was spinning, still remembering the rules, the contract, the way Théo’s golden eyes could make me tremble without even touching me.
“Camille.”
The sound of his voice made my heart skip. Sharp. Commanding. Close. I froze for a moment, my small wolf shivering in my chest.
“Yes, Théo?” I answered quickly, trying to steady my voice. My hands shook as I wiped them on a cloth.
“Come here.”
I hurried across the room, my feet dragging slightly on the polished floor. My stomach twisted, nervous and scared. He was sitting, his eyes on me, golden and piercing.
As soon as I reached him, he didn’t say anything more. He just looked at me. His gaze pressed down on me like a weight I couldn’t move under.
“Get off your clothes.”
My heart froze. My mouth opened, but nothing came out. Fear, panic, and confusion collided inside me.
“I… I… Théo…” I whispered. “In the contract… you said… no touching.”
He leaned forward slightly, his voice low, cold, and firm: “You obey me. You don’t get to question me.”
My small wolf trembled violently in my chest. I felt frozen, trapped, but a strange part of me—the part that always wanted to please him—forced me to move. I swallowed hard and closed my eyes. Slowly, shakily, I began to undress, feeling my heart hammer against my ribs.
I couldn’t look at him. Couldn’t think. My fingers fumbled with the buttons of my blouse, my legs shaking so badly that I had to clutch the edge of the chair. My wolf whined softly, anxious and confused.
Théo stood. His presence filled the room, tall, broad, and commanding. He stepped closer, and my chest tightened. My breath hitched. I felt exposed, terrified, but a part of me—small, quiet—longed for him.
He was about to lean in, to kiss, to claim… when his golden eyes suddenly widened. He stopped. Something changed in his expression.
“Where… where did you get all these?” His voice was rough, worried, almost breaking. He reached toward me, his hands hovering above my arms.
I flinched slightly, embarrassed, ashamed. “I… I’m an Omega,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “They… they don’t respect people like us. They… they do whatever they want to us.”
My small wolf curled tightly inside me. Fear, shame, and grief pooled in my chest. I could feel my tears threatening to fall. I wanted to hide. To disappear.
Théo’s expression softened slightly, but his eyes were still sharp. “Put your clothes back on,” he said quietly. “I’ll get a doctor for you.”
I hurried to obey, my fingers fumbling, my cheeks burning. My wolf shivered, sensing the sudden change in his tone. Relief, but also a strange heat from his closeness.
Just as I was finishing, there was a knock at the door. Théo didn’t hesitate.
“Open it.”
A woman stepped inside. Beautiful. Elegant. Her eyes were sharp, but she smiled politely at Théo.
“I’ll handle this,” he said to me quietly, and without another word, he moved toward her, leaving me standing there, my hands pressed to my chest, my small wolf trembling.
I could hear their voices, low and controlled, through the door. My heart was still racing, my body tense. I waited. Waited for him to return. Waited for the doctor.
Minutes felt like hours. My chest ached, my mind spinning. I tried to steady my breathing, tried to think of anything besides him… but every sound of his voice, every echo of his presence, pulled me back.
Then—
The door opened again.
And his brother stepped inside.
My heart froze. My small wolf twitched violently. I hadn’t expected him back so soon. I could feel the air change in the room, heavy with tension.
He looked at me. Not with anger. Not with desire. Just… curiosity. Something unreadable in his eyes.
I swallowed hard. My fingers pressed together, my knees weak. I didn’t know whether to step forward, step back, or hide.
“Camille,” he said softly, his voice calm. Almost gentle.
I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. My small wolf pressed against my ribs, anxious, nervous, but somehow… comforted.
And in that moment, I realized: I was caught between them. Théo, my terrifying, golden-eyed Alpha, who ruled my body and my heart. And his brother, mysterious, calm, and dangerously… kind.
I didn’t know what would happen next. All I knew was that my life had just grown far more complicated than I had ever imagined.
Chapter 107Her POVThey left the arena with the weight of everything still pressing on them. The walk back to the pack house was not peaceful. It felt heavy, like the air itself had changed. Nobody spoke much at first. The guards followed closely, and the pack members who had been present in the arena walked in groups, still arguing in low voices about what they had just seen.Theo walked at the front, the crown still resting on his head. He did not remove it, not even once. His steps were steady, controlled, as if nothing in the world could shake him. Camille stayed close behind him, her eyes watching everything, her heart still trying to settle after the chaos of the arena. But the peace did not last.Footsteps grew louder behind them.Angry footsteps.Fast.Heavy.Then a voice cut through the air.“You think this is over?”Everyone stopped for a second. They turned slightly. The cousin was walking behind them, his face dark with anger, his eyes sharp like someone who had already d
Chapter 106Her POVThe arena did not calm down after the crown touched Theo’s head.If anything, it became worse.Voices rose from every corner, loud, angry, confused, clashing against each other like a storm that refused to settle.“This is not right!” someone shouted from the crowd, his voice filled with anger.“How did this even happen?” another voice followed, louder, sharper.“We don’t accept this!” a woman cried out, her tone firm and unyielding. The noise spread quickly, growing stronger with every passing second. People argued among themselves, some stepping forward as if they wanted to challenge what had just happened, others shaking their heads in disbelief.“This is against tradition!”“He cannot just take the position like that!”“What about the rules?”The words came one after another, overlapping, rising higher, turning the arena into chaos.Even some of the elders looked unsettled now, their calm expressions cracking slightly under the pressure of the crowd. The guards
Chapter 105 : The crowHer PoVThe silence in the arena stretched longer than anyone expected. The words I had spoken still hung in the air, heavy and impossible to ignore. I could feel the confusion in the crowd, the disbelief in their eyes, the way everything had suddenly shifted in a way no one had prepared for.All eyes were on Theo.Waiting.Watching.Expecting him to say something. To refuse. To question. To step back. But he did none of those things. For a brief moment, he stood still beside me, his expression unreadable, his presence calm but strong. I could feel the tension around us, the weight of every gaze pressing against him, waiting for his reaction. Then slowly, without saying a single word, he stepped forward.A soft wave of murmurs moved through the crowd immediately.“What is he doing?”“Is he going to accept it?”My heart tightened slightly as I watched him move. This was not what I expected. This was not what anyone expected. He walked straight toward the elders,
Chapter 104 : Crown To Him Her PoV The silence stretched for a moment longer, thick and heavy, as if the entire arena was holding its breath, waiting for me to finally speak. I could feel their eyes on me, their expectations rising, their curiosity growing with every second I remained quiet. Then I finally lifted my head fully and let my voice carry across the arena.“The one I choose…” I began slowly, my tone calm but clear, “is my mate.”The reaction was immediate. Confusion spread across their faces, and murmurs began to rise again. People turned to each other, whispering, questioning, trying to understand what I meant.“Her mate?” someone asked.“Who is she talking about?” another voice followed.I did not rush. I let them wonder for just a second longer before I spoke again.“I will give the crown…” I continued, my voice steady, “to Theo.”This time, the arena did not just murmur. It exploded.Shock spread like fire through the crowd. Some people gasped loudly, others stepped f
Chapitre 103The DayHer PoVhe moment we stepped into the arena, I felt it immediately. Something was not right, and I did not need anyone to explain it to me or show me proof. It was in the air, heavy and strange, like a quiet warning that refused to be ignored. The crowd had already gathered, filling every space, their eyes turning toward me the second I appeared. There were too many faces, too many expressions, and I could feel every single one of them watching me closely. Some people were cheering softly, calling my name with voices that carried hope.“Camille!”“She can do it!”But others were completely different. Their faces were cold, their eyes distant, and the way they looked at me made it clear that they did not think I belonged there. Then came the whispers. They were not loud, but they were sharp enough for me to hear them clearly.“She shouldn’t be here…”“She’s not fit to lead…”“This is wrong…”The words reached me even when they tried to hide them, and though I kept
Chapitre 102The room felt too quiet.I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection, but I wasn’t really seeing myself. My thoughts were too loud. Too many things were running through my mind at once.Today was not just a ceremony. It was everything. My hands moved slowly over my dress, smoothing it down, even though it was already perfect. I didn’t know why I was doing it. Maybe to calm myself. Maybe to feel in control. My heart was beating fast, but I forced my face to stay calm.I had to look strong.I had to feel strong.I lifted my head slightly… and my eyes met his reflection behind me.Theo.He was standing a few steps away, already dressed, watching me quietly. My breath slowed a little. There was something about him. The way he looked at me… steady, calm, like nothing could shake him. It always made me feel a little more grounded.“You’re staring,” I said softly, even though I didn’t turn.“I’m allowed to,” he replied.A small smile touched my lips before I could s
