I sat in my office, my mind a disaster as I processed everything that happened today.

Robert, Adam, and Davies all sat across the desk with me, but only one of them understood that I needed time to think.

Robert and Davies’ lips were moving, but I didn't hear a word they both said. I sank into my seat better and exhaled deeply, troubled by how often Daciana seemed to attract danger to herself.
