Scarlett

'No! ' The beast of a man sneered holding me by my neck, his claws digging into my skin. There was supposed to be pain on the punctured skin, but all I felt was electric tingles dancing across the parts his skin came into contact with mine. My wolf purred on the inside, enjoying his touch, but the bond couldn't fool me.

Normally, I would have been shivering from the cold, but I felt warm. My clothes had shredded during the shift, but Thierry had been kind enough to drape a jacket over me.

I felt half complete now that my wolf had finally surfaced. I felt like a totally different woman. Every single sense of mine was heightened, my vision was more clear, I could pick up sounds even as far as outside the chamber. Silas had insisted I didn't have a wolf, that I was weak, spineless and didn't deserve to have one but now, I knew I was normal.

'You, a rogue, my mate? ' He let go forcefully, standing up with his strong muscular arms flailing in the air. I recoiled further on the wall, trying to make myself invisible. I knew growing up that mates were goddess given gifts. I also knew that they brought happiness in one's life. They were the other half of werewolves, the male ones protected the female ones.

Looking at him pacing on the concrete floor with his back tense, muscles straining his shirt, I knew I wasn't the type of female he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. The apparent realization that he didn't want me brought forth a heavy feeling in my heart. I could feel the organ beating faster than usual. My attempts to swallow the lump in my throat failed.

My head hang as I shivered, snaking my arms around myself. My mind went back to my mother's words and for once she was wrong. She had told me that finding my mate would bring the best feeling I have ever felt. She said it would be the freedom my wolf and I would enjoy each day. That our mate would love us unconditionally, he would die for us if need be.

I shook my head knowing very well that the alpha would do no such thing for me. Instead he would kill me and get rid of me like the useless rogue I was before his eyes. I bit my lip painfully, the metallic taste of blood coating my tongue.

'Alpha, the moon goddess doesn't make mistakes. ' I slowly lifted my head to look at Thierry, fearful for his utterance. A heavy silence followed after his words, it lasted for a few seconds before the alpha exploded.

'Get the fuck out! ' I closed my eyes as Thierry, Jasper and cane shuffled out of the room, locking the metallic door.

I am finished.

I whispered as the tense atmosphere became clogged with uncomfortable silence. 'Who send you? '

I snapped my head up at his calm question. His demeanour though was anything but calm, the man's face was contorted into a scowl. Mastering strength, I whispered.

'No one. ' He looked at me pointedly with a raised eyebrow. His eyes dipped to my thumb but everything was healed now that I had a wolf. I didn't feel any physical pain, every single wound and injury was long healed.

'Lies! You are a fucking liar!' I flinched at the ascent of his voice, it screamed pure terror and yet somehow I loved how manly it sounded.

'They send you to spy on me, to trick me into thinking that you are my mate.' He trailed off, staring at the spot on the wall behind me. I had no idea about who he was referring to.

'It's their plan so that they can use you as my weakness and strike. ' It was my turn to stare at him as if he were out of his mind.

'But I, ' He tapped on his chest with his head raised high as he finally turned his intense gaze to me.

'Alpha Jaxon will not fall into their trap. ' I gasped, shaking my head. The only thing I heard in his statement was his name.

'Alpha Jaxon. '

A feeling I couldn't comprehend took root on the inside. The same feeling I felt when my mother told me stories of the same alpha Jaxon, the monster among men. How had I not put two and two together? He was the one and the same, the monster who instilled fear among the werewolf community. A man who committed mass murders and bathed in the blood of his victims.

The same man that is said to have killed the alpha king with his bare hands. To top it all, he was my mate, alpha Jaxon was my other half, the same man who wanted to murder me.

He must have seen the emotions written all over my face because he stepped back.

I couldn't look at him, no, how could I look at the most deadliest alpha? It was a miracle I was still alive, rumours had it that trespassers were dealt with the very same day they were captured. It had been days, hours upon hours of suffering inside the cell. Only for me to transform the very same day of my scheduled torture and murder.

'You knew who I was and yet you allowed them to send you to your own demise. ' He was closer now, inches away from my body, looking down at me. If I had known I was trespassing into his pack, I wouldn't even have dared escape.

'Get up! ' There wasn't any room for arguments in his voice. I was up on my feet, swallowing a small gulp of saliva.

'I will ask you for the last time Scarlett . ' He whispered firmly on my left ear, his right hand grasping my hair painfully. I swallowed down a whimper as I opened my mouth hastily.

'Who- send-you? ' Each word was properly pronounced, slowly dragged through his teeth. I could feel the seriousness in his voice and yet I knew I didn't have the answer he wanted.

'I, e-scap-ed. ' I managed to stutter, directing my hand to where he held my hair. The side of my jacket slid over my shoulder, almost leaving me bare.

A dry chuckle left his mouth as he pushed me on the wall. He leaned down, and looked at me straight into my eyes. 'From where? '

A relief washed over me, he was willing to listen, his questions proved it. 'The Crane Power. '

He hummed, pressing into me pushing me on the wall. 'So Silas put you up for this...I am not surprised. '

He let go, only for his big hand to press around my neck. It wasn't enough to cut the oxygen but it was tight enough to bruise. In an attempt to pull him off, the jacket finally slid off my shoulders. I could feel the material pooling around my feet on the floor.

I didn't dare meet his eyes as he openly stared at my chest. His eyes dipped between us, as a cold breeze brushed on my skin, making my nipples harden instantly. I swear his Adam's apple bobbed up and down as he openly stared, making a foreign warmth spread all over.

After a short while he stepped back, but not before his eyes briefly went between my legs. I was confused about what had just happened. The warmth that I had suddenly felt between my legs. What was wrong with me? He had almost tortured me to death and now I was allowing his presence to affect me?

'I have no desire for a mate, especially a mate like you. ' He disrupted my thoughts yet again. I bend over to pick the jacket and covered myself up quickly. I was no longer comfortable with him looking at me as if I was a snack.

Every word cut deep and I could only shut my eyes awaiting the looming rejection. I had a clue about how rejections worked and how deadly the consequences were.

'However this pack is in need of an heir and now that you are here...You will serve your purpose and after that we will revisit. ' I opened my eyes, trying to comprehend what he meant, was he reducing me to nothing but a breeding she wolf?

'I don't forgive and neither do I forget. Once you give me a son, I will make sure you suffer as promised. ' I couldn't believe his animosity towards me, his own mate.

'You must follow the same path other trespassers followed...Death in my own hands. '

  • The Alpha's Desires For His Outcast Luna   Chapter 140 (Epilogue)

Third POV Two Years Later Draven and Melody heaved consecutive sighs of relief after their twins finally fell asleep. They had tried everything for hours to get Astra Mae Fox and her brother Knox to sleep, including massage, swaying, and singing lullabies. Only when they contacted Scarlett did they get a complete guide, which worked within minutes. Now they had to tiptoe around and make little to no noise, so the twins couldn't wake up. "Stubborn babies," Draven whined in a low voice, sleeping on his back on their bed, eyes tightly closed. "I almost cried," Melody confessed, making Draven chuckle lightly, before he got a slap on his arm. "Lower your voice. If you wake them up, I swear I will run out of this house and leave you alone with them," Melody sternly stated in a low voice, glaring at Draven as she lied beside him. "I didn't think putting a baby to sleep would be so haard." Draven exaggerated the word 'hard' making Melody roll her eyes even though she knew so well w

Melody Reese "Mmh." Draven swallowed my low moan in the kiss, deepening it and making my heart beat fiercely. His lips were salty sweet, moving against my cold ones, warming them as the intensity increased. It felt like days since we had a true slow kiss without any worry of lurking enemies or evil plans being plotted against us. His fingers combed through my hair, his touch completely pulling me into a pool of desire. "Goddess, you taste so good," he rasped against my lips when he pulled away, his eyes roaming over my face. "And you look so inviting right now." He added in an evident rasp, using his other hand to swipe a thumb gently over my lower lip. I was at a loss for words, just drinking in his riveting features and wanting more of him. "I would have loved to fuck you right here right now, but..." he trailed off. "But?" I raised an eyebrow, almost challengingly, as I shifted on the hospital bed. "We are in the infirmary, in one of the check-up rooms," he clarified, looking

Draven Fox I couldn't count how many handshakes and condolences I received from my pack members after the ceremony. My mother had whisked Melody away the moment it was all over, leaving me to interact on their behalf, citing that stress wasn't good for Melody. There was still a part of me that didn't want to accept that nana was gone and that it could have been prevented. Had I listened to Melody from the start about not trusting Jones with Mercy, Astra would still be alive. "You cannot blame yourself when fate happens." My father's voice invaded my mind, snapping me back to reality. It looked like I had greeted the last few pack members absentmindedly. "I am not blaming myself," I replied in a harsh tone, pocketing my hands in my slacks. "I know you, son; I can see it written on your face," he insisted. I sighed. "Fine. But can you judge me, though? I was supposed to know something wasn't right with Jones the moment he started conniving against us." I pulled out my hand from my p

Melody Reese Despite every attempt to keep Draven off my mind, the state of his mom, and Jones all together, I still found myself pacing around in the sitting room. My eyes kept darting toward the front door, praying for my mate to push it open. As if the goddess had decided to respond to my prayers instantly, the door knob moved. I halted, folding my hands together as if saying thank you, and looked as the oaken door was pushed open. "Draven!" I squealed, running toward him when he finally stepped in, a very large, telling smile gracing his handsome face. He spread his arms, but before I threw myself on him, a scent, even though weaker than his usual masculine one, hit my nostrils. I put on breaks, standing just a few steps from him as my eyes roamed around his body, inspecting him for any injuries. "Melody?" His brows shot up, his shoulders rising up in question. "Is he..." I trailed off after the realization that it wasn't his blood dawned on me. A relief washed over me as I exh

Draven Fox After cutting the mind link with an overly excited Melody after hearing the news of where Jones was, we spread out. We planned to approach Mercy's home from different directions so that if Jones escaped, we would have extremely high chances of catching him. It was a solid plan, one that we kept just between the three of us, Holden, Mason, and me. I wasn't about to tell my warriors and risk Jones getting wind of it. At that moment, he was an enemy—a dangerous, traitorous one that needed to be tamed. "How come Mercy's parents just let him stay there?" Mason asked via the mind link, positioned a few meters north of the two-story house. "They are not there. They left the pack the moment they heard what their daughter had done," I answered, crouching low behind tall grass a few steps after the tree line on the back of the house. The lights were off, and except for sounds made by small animals, it was extremely silent. That meant that we had to be extra stealthy; otherwise, Jon

Melody Reese I threw the covers off and sat up, putting my hands above my head. Time seemed to have stagnated; the howls subsided, and uncomfortable silence reigned. I didn't know how long I had slept, but there was still daylight streaming through the window. My heart was still heavy, and I could feel the puffiness around my eyes without even touching or looking. It was still surreal how so much chaos could take place in just one day. Throwing my legs over the edge of the bed, palms on the mattress, and forearm facing forward, I sat there for a few seconds, finding some bearing. The ache Draven had caused between my legs was still there. My clit was still throbbing, begging to be relieved, but I attempted to ignore that and let my feet finally touch the area rug on the floor. "When will this be over?" I talked out loud, heaving a prolonged low sigh as I thought about going downstairs to the kitchen. I was craving cocoa since I hadn't taken it earlier. I couldn't feel Draven's emoti
