Imani found herself staring at Vince while he laughed. She didn't really understand what Michael had just said but when Vince explained everything to her, she joined him in the laughter.

After the three of them had talked for some time, they bid each other goodbye and ended the call.

“I hope you no longer think I'm a liar.” Vince suddenly said and Imani turned her head in his direction.

“Did I call you a li….. ohhhh, I did. I'm really sorry about that but you couldn't blame me. Terry is someone that I've known for a really long time and I just met you today.

Anybody would have reacted in the same way I did.” Imani stared at her fingers as she said so.

She felt embarrassed for the way she had spoken to Vince earlier.

“It's fine though. Like you said, I can't blame you. You were just trying to defend your friend and there's no crime in that.” Vince patted her lightly on her shoulder and Imani felt the sparks once more.
