Mercedes' POV

‘Join me for dinner,’ the note simply read and I bit my bottom lip as I tried to stifle my smile. I had a good idea who the note was from and that made my heart skip a beat.

Why would Bradley want me to join him for dinner? Especially after everything he said this morning and how he ignored me throughout the day.

Would it just be the two of us? Butterflies fluttered within me at the thought and I wondered what I would wear.

I walked around in a haze for the rest of the evening as anticipation coursed through me.

“You seem happy,” Penelope noted as I tucked her into bed.

“Do I?” I questioned as I tried to stifle my smile but failed miserably.

“You've been smiling to yourself,” Carter called out from his bed and I placed my hands on my cheeks.

“I have?” I asked as a chuckle left my lips. Was I that obvious?

What was wrong with me? I was acting like a girl who had been asked out to peom by her date.

“Alright it's time for bed.” I announced as I rose to ut off their lights.
