Merlin and the Necromancer

A gust of wind rushed through the tent and the scene around her disappeared as she found herself back on the pier, still gazing into the necromancer's eyes. The trance broken, Merlin stepped back, glaring indignantly at him as she stumbled and fell onto something hard and muscular, crouched down low behind her. She heard a familiar growl and instinctively reached out to grab Zeke’s neck as he rose up and leaped forward, charging past the necromancer and his witches. 

Merlin barely registered the surprise on their faces as they flew past, the wind whipping her face and hair so she had to bury her face in the fur on Zeke’s neck. He'd never run like this before and she could sense his urgency in getting them as far away as possible. It wasn't long before they reached the cabin and swiftly dismounting, she waited for Zeke to shift back.
