Flashback

She had to grow up quickly. She suddenly became the Alpha of one of the strongest packs in their region. There was the ceremony of the warriors to confirm their allegiance to her, meetings with the Alphas that were their allies, and then she hadn’t even touched the pack’s finances or reports about rogue attacks or any other reports. There were many things to consider and to be taken care of that she didn’t even know her parents did. It felt as if it was all just an awful nightmare, and that she had to pinch herself to wake up. It was not. They were gone, and she was an orphan.

The water was getting cold, so she got out of the bath, dried herself, and put on her new pajamas. Her grandmother had taken her to the mall two days before, hoping it would take her mind off things a bit. She believed that Gabriella needed some new things that did not immediately remind her of what she had lost but made her feel good when she put them on. She loved her grandmother for trying
