Chapter 34

Mildred POV

When I opened my eyes, the first thing I thought about was looking for my unborn baby's father, but he was nowhere in sight, instead there was a drip in my hand and an unfamiliar person in a white coat looking down at me, and immediately my heart began to race with panic as I dragged my fingers into the sheets and backed up against the pillow that's was on the bed I was resting on.

The man in the coat immediately approached me, placing his hand on my arm and telling me that I was in a hospital and that I was being taken care of.

After calming down a little bit, I immediately began to panic again as I wondered if anything had happened to my baby, but the doctor reassured me that nothing was wrong with my baby, however I was not able to stay relieved for long because my next question was not answered positively.

"Please doctor, where is the man that brought me here to the hospital?"

The doctor said to me in a calm soft voice that he would be coming back for me in the evening
