LAZAR

Three days.

It's been three fucking days since I sat on this fucking chair watching the woman I love wither away like a flower in the frost, without stepping away from her to go about my Alpha duties.

The Pack House was silent, a suffocating kind of quietness that felt like it was mourning a death that hadn't happened yet, a death that was waiting around the corner before it happened.

I hadn’t shifted. I hadn’t eaten. I hadn’t gone to the Courtroom for important meetings. Fuck! I hadn't even closed my eyes for more than a few minutes at a time. My wolf was pacing back and forth, his claws scratching at the walls of my mind. He wanted blood. He wanted to tear something apart. But there was no enemy to fight, no predator to kill at the moment.

As for the Pack members, I instructed the guards to have them whipped again. They were the reason why my mate was in this condition and they decided to be punished and locked away in the dungeon until whenever she regains consciousness

MARGARETI walked out of the clinic, checking my nails to make sure they hadn't been chipped in the scuffle. My heart was still racing, but not from fear. Boy, it isn't from fear. It was the adrenaline of the win. From my huge win.Ezra was dead, the poison was blamed on him alone, and I was free. And it fucking calls for celebration."Margaret." The cold voice hit me like a bucket of ice water. And even without looking, I knew who the voice belonged to.I stopped and looked up. It was my brother, Marcus. He was standing in the middle of the hallway, his arms crossed over his chest, giving him a sophisticated look. My eyes fixed on the long thin scar that ran from his eyes down to his cheeks. He didn't look like a brother right now. He looked like the Beta. He looked like a man who was ready to snap someone’s neck right now. "I’ve had a very long day, Marcus. Can you just let me be?" I said, my voice as nonchalant as if I were talking about the weather. But he didn't say anything.

  • The Alpha’s Human Property    I DON'T WANT TO BE A LUNA ANYMORE

ALLISONDarkness. It was the only thing I could see, but it wasn't peaceful.I was back in the market. I could feel the hard stones hitting my skin. I could smell the rotten eggs and hear the cruel laughter of the teenagers and other villagers. "Please!" I screamed in my dream, covering my head with my arms, as if to protect myself from their cruel actions. "Please stop! I didn't do anything!"“Go away. You're a curse. You'll never be loved.” They roared in my sleep. All of a sudden, the scene changed. I wasn't in the market anymore. I was back in that old, damp room with my father. I felt the sting of his belt and heard my grandmother’s cold voice telling me I was a mistake, a plague that should have been destroyed. “We should have killed you the moment you were born.” Now it was my father's voice. “You'll never be loved.”Then came the most painful memory of all; the moment I lost my unborn baby. I could still see the way the blood slipped through my legs. The emptiness in my h

MARGARETI froze. The world seemed to stop spinning as I stared at the man standing in front of me. It was Marcus. My brother. Alpha Lazar’s right-hand man and the Beta of this pack. The blood drained from my face so fast I felt dizzy. My hands started to shake, and I quickly hid them behind my back. I knew what I looked like. Boy, I didn't need any soothsayer to tell me. My hair was a mess, my dress was wrinkled, my makeup was ruined too as a result of Ezra’s roughness and I was sure I smelled like Ezra. His fucking scent was all over me."I'll say the same for you, Marga. What are you doing in Ezra’s place?" My brother asked, as he continued to stare at me in close scrutiny. His voice was deep and steady, but there was a sharp edge to it.I couldn't breathe for a second. Marcus wasn't just my brother; he was a hunter. He could read people better than anyone in the pack. I felt like he was looking right through my skin and seeing all my dirty secrets, seeing what I've been up to.

  • The Alpha’s Human Property    YOU HAVE A DEAL

MARGARETIn no time, the car pulled up in Ezra’s place and I got out. I stormed down the hallway, my heels clicking loudly against the floor. My chest was tight with rage. How dare he? How dare Lazar treat me like a common criminal in front of that... that lowly human, that curse?I had it all planned out. The poison in that syringe was supposed to stop Allison’s heart slowly. It would have looked like she just wasn't strong enough to survive her injuries and no one would have suspected. But now, Lazar had the needle. He was sending it to Ezra to be tested, if he hadn't done it already. If Ezra found out what was really in that syringe, I was dead. If Alpha Lazar finds out that I was telling lies about the sedatives, I'll be done for.I hurried to the clinic and burst into Ezra’s private office. He was sitting at his desk, staring at the syringe I had just been forced to hand over to the guards. When he saw me, his face turned red."You woman, are you insane?" Ezra hissed, slamm

  • The Alpha’s Human Property    SHE BETTER WAKE UP

LAZARMargaret stood frozen, her eyes darting between me and the needle. She swallowed hard, trying to regain her composure.“What are you doing here, Margaret?” I repeated the question when I didn't hear any response from her."Greetings, Alpha. I... I was sent by Doctor Ezra, Alpha," she said, her voice trembling slightly, though she tried to sound offended. "You know I have a background in medicine. He told me she would become restless because of the drugs and needed a sedative to keep her calm so her body could rest."I didn't move. My eyes stayed locked on the clear liquid inside that syringe. My wolf was pacing in my head, growling that something was wrong. "Ezra didn't mention sending anyone." I gave a curt response. “And if he did, he'd have called to let me know.”"Yeah…. Yeah, he's busy preparing more herbs for her treatment." Margaret snapped. “He didn't say anything about herbs, Margaret.”She let out a frustrated huff. "Trust me, Alpha, I only wanted to help. When I
