Chapter 49

Aurora’s POV

I groaned on my bed as the sun reflected on my face and into my eye. I tried to move away from it and go back to sleep but failed miserably. In fact, it got brighter. Why?

It felt like a dèjá vu of sorts and something about that felt familiar…

My eyes were assaulted by the brightness. My body was covered in sweat as I struggled to open my eyes and squint at the intruder. The intruder had an arm wrapped around me, his other hand cupping my cheek.

“Aurora” I heard Alexis say but my head felt like it was stuck to something. It was too hot, too much pressure.

“Aurora,” Alexis said again with more urgency this time, pulling on my shoulders and making me sit up.

I looked at him, his eyes were wide as he held my arms. “What are you doing?” I asked, looking at his hands as he pulled them off my arms, ‘He shouldn't be touching me’ I thought as I looked around my room but my neck hurt and when I ran my hand over it, I realised that there was a cast there. What the hell…?
