LOGINKiera's POV
"She's my fated mate." That word kept ringing in my head even as I sat beside him on the couch, his fated mate at his right side, whispering words into his ears as the party continued.
The dancers were now on the dance floor, giving their best with smiles, happiness displayed in each step they took, even as everyone wore an admiring look on their faces, I couldn't help the deep frown on my face. It felt as though someone forced my ass in the seat, nothing interests me here. All I want to do right now is to go to my room and have a deep sleep then wake with all this as a dream.
"Babe, what's the matter?" Preston's voice came from behind, I turned to him and flashed him a fake smile, my heart palpitating loudly the minute I heard his voice, my emotions riling up.
"I'm feeling a headache." I voiced out as I turned back to the dancers, asking me stupid questions as though he expected me to be okay with the fact that he brought in another woman or the fact that he wants me to share my mate.
"Oh, you must have really put in a lot into this, I will call it to an end in a few minutes." He whispered while brushing his lips against my cheek, I withdrew slowly, I felt disgusted, he kissed his so called fated mate with those lips right in front of me.
He narrowed his eyes at me in a questioning manner the minute I withdrew, I flashed him a smirk and continued watching the crowd, trying to subdue my tears, my eyes all red, biting my cheeks, he knows how possessive I can be, if he wanted his fated mate then he should reject me.
That thought alone, my heart sank into my stomach, can I take the rejection?
"The great people of Moonlight Pack!" He called out as he stood up on his seat.
"I wasn't expecting this honestly, I'm overwhelmed by all these, thank you so much." The crowd began to make joyful noises, clapping loudly as though they planned on beating drums with their palms.
"Your warm welcome made me feel home again, it hasn't been easy out there, I feel so much wanted here, and I want to say thank you to each and every one of you that made me feel this way." He voiced out and the crowd began to clap again, the drummers intensifying the clap.
"To my wonderful Luna, the blessing of the Moon goddess to the Moonlight Pack." The crowd already started clapping even without him finishing up his words.
"My Alpha Luna, a warrior and a mother to her pack, without her this whole thing wouldn't have been possible, thank you so much, my queen, I love you." He bent towards me and pecked my forehead.
"Thank you all for coming out here today, I'm grateful. This party is indeed a success, it's time we all go back to our houses and get a bit of rest." He paused for a while as he looked into the crowd.
"The great Moonlight Pack!" He howled with his right hand lifted up.
"Great!" They let out in unison.
"Have a great night." The drummers began to beat their drums as his fated mate rushed towards him and wrapped her arms around his waist. I walked past them, making my way out of the hall, I felt someone walking behind me, I increased my pace, I don't want to talk to anyone.
"My Luna wait." Cole called out, thankfully I am already standing in front of my car, I dragged the car door open and sat down immediately.
"Keira! Where are you going to?" He asked as he tried to hold the car door, it closed before he could, I brought the engine to life and drove off immediately. I need to go out of here, if I spend another minute here, I will lose it completely.
Just then my phone began to ring, I looked at the caller ID, Cole.
"Kiera, where the hell are you? Preston is pissed off, you know how he can be..." His words were irking the hell out of me, I cut him short immediately.
"He should have a good time with his fated mate! Just let me be, I need a break from all these!" I voiced out then disconnected the call and immediately switched off my phone. Then continued driving, tears dripping down my cheeks as I drove faster, after a few minutes I was already at the pack gate.
"Piiiiiiiiiiii!" I honked loudly, the guards recognising my car immediately opened the gate and I drove out of the pack. I turned in any direction I felt like without looking at the signboards.
I saw a signboard indicating a bar, I quickly parked my car at the parking lot just in front of the bar I opened one of the car drawers and took a nose mask, I can't afford being recognised. I immediately opened my car door and walked out then pushed it closed, it locked automatically as I walked into the bar, pushing my car key into my front pants pocket.
The smell of alcohol and hard drugs filled the air, I looked around and found some people dancing at the front side, some were sitting down and watching the dance, on a closer look I realized it's strippers dancing the hell out of their boobs and ass. Interesting.
"Hey, what will you have?" The bartender asked while staring at me.
"Tequila." I let out as I sat on the stool, staring at the stage, I thought I'd enjoy the dance but then it got me irritated, I quickly frowned and turned back to the bar.
"Your order ma'am." I took the glass of tequila he dropped on the counter and gulped it down my throat immediately, its burning sensation brought my entire system to life.
I shifted the glass towards him to refill. He did just as I asked and I gulped it down again then shifted it towards him for the third time, I bent my head down as I stared at my feet, my mind losing its will already.
The stool beside me shifted and I raised my head up immediately, staring at the dark skinned man sitting beside me, his hair so low that his skull skin is in view, his face well sculptured, more like a black Greek God. The silver earring on his right ear enhanced his beauty, sparkling brightly as though announcing his presence, as though feeling my stare on him, he turned to face me, returning the favour.
"Why the fucking hell are you staring at me?" I voiced out, pain and bitterness visible in my tone.
"Having eyes gives me the right to stare at whatever I want, without apologies," he replied, and just then, the bartender dropped my glass of tequila, and I gulped it down almost immediately.
I didn't say a word to him as I pushed my glass for a refill, then turned to see a smirk on his lips he sipped from his glass, then twirled the glass between his fingers.
"You can talk about it though; I can feel how heavy it is in your heart," He offered but then an idea suddenly came to my mind and chuckled lightly. I pushed my glass for another refill, gulped down the contents almost immediately, and asked for another refill.
"Do you mind if we fuck?"
Martha's POV"I will never let a tear drop from your eyes. I love you so much, my queen, my mate, the mother of my unborn kids, my sunshine, the reason for my smile, mine. I bless the day my eyes found you. I will love you till the end of time. I will never get tired of loving you. Just promise me that you won't change. Promise me that you will always be mine, that you won't leave me for another man. If you leave me, I can't survive it. I might die..."I couldn't let him finish. I lifted my hand and gently covered his lips."Don't say that again. Nobody is dying. I won't change and I will never leave you for any other person, not in this life and not in the life to come." I replied, my cheeks burning with a blush so fierce I could barely bring myself to look him in the eye. He seemed like an angel sent straight from the heavens. Every smile, every touch, every word felt like a blessing I never thought I deserved. I
Martha's POVMy heart sank the moment those words left my lips, but what else could I have done? All I wanted was peace. I was not ready for another round of physical abuse. My body was already screaming from the damage he had done. If apologizing for being beaten was the price of keeping the peace, then I would do it a thousand times over. I hated myself for thinking that way, but fear had a way of changing people. Fear had a way of making survival feel more important than dignity."I love this part of you," he said slowly as he started coming closer to where I lay on the bed."Thanks," I replied, my chest pounding so hard that I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. Something about the look in his eyes made me nervous. I had a feeling I knew exactly what he wanted."Have you not missed my touch?" he asked as he caressed my leg, and I immediately winced in pain. How can I mi
Martha'sI found myself standing in the middle of a dense forest. The trees towered far above me like ancient guardians that had stood there for centuries, their thick trunks stretching endlessly toward the dark sky. Their branches intertwined overhead, creating a canopy so dense that barely any light could pass through. The little moonlight that managed to slip between the leaves painted silver patterns across the forest floor. The air smelled of damp earth, pine, and wild grass, carrying the familiar scent of nature that every wolf found comforting.Fallen leaves blanketed the ground beneath my feet while tangled roots twisted through the soil like sleeping serpents. Strange shadows shifted between the trees whenever the wind stirred the branches above. The forest felt alive in a way only wolves could understand. I could hear the distant chirping of insects hidden in the darkness and the occasional call of an owl somewhere far away.
Martha's POV"I brought the... unburnt... haha... I mean the good part of the... you know... I thought you guys wouldn't mind." I said, and as the words left my mouth, I already knew I sounded like a lunatic. I really wished the ground could open up at this point and swallow me whole. They all muffled laughter, of course, except Jeff whose eyes were blood red with anger. He folded his arms in rage, and I knew exactly what that meant."We are good, dear. Enjoy." One of them said to me, and I immediately turned away and walked out of the veranda, praying I wouldn't miss my steps. Tears were already flowing down my eyes. I hate being embarrassed, and this was the worst kind of humiliation I could ever imagine.I sat down on the floor of the sitting room and placed the tray on the floor beside me."Your mate is really very hilarious," one of them said, and they all burst into laughter.
Aethelwulf POVI walked out of the ward with the boy still in my arms, my thoughts far from the four corners of this place. I didn't say anything to him, but for some reason he seemed comfortable, staring around at the nurses, the doctors and people without the usual white or blue clothing. He was probably having a good time. His eyes moved from one person to another with curiosity, occasionally lingering on something that caught his attention before moving on to the next thing. Children really were different. Put an adult in a hospital and all they would see was sickness, suffering and bills. Put a child in the same place and somehow they would still find something interesting enough to stare at. The smell of antiseptic filled the hallways, mixed with the scent of medicine and that strange sterile atmosphere hospitals always had. I had spent enough time in places like this to know that behind almost every door was someone praying for a miracle, someone waiting for good news or someon
Martha's POVI walked into the house sluggishly, dragging my feet behind me as though each step weighed twice as much as it should. All I wanted right now was a quick shower and my bed. Nothing else. Today had been unbelievably long, and every part of my body seemed to be protesting against being awake. My shoulders ached, my legs felt heavy. Even my eyes burned from exhaustion.I reached for the sitting room door, already mentally planning how quickly I could get upstairs without anyone stopping me, but loud laughter burst from inside before I could push it open.Immediately, I knew who it was, Jeff and his useless friends. I sighed under my breath. For some reason, those men always managed to make the house feel smaller than it was. Every time they came around, they brought noise, alcohol, cigarette smoke, and opinions nobody asked for."Good evening, all." I said immediately I pushed the door open. The laughter stopped almost immediately. Five pairs of eyes landed on me.The room l

Kiera's POV"Alpha Preston, I dare you to send me back there." I said while looking directly into his eyes. I could see the shock in his eyes."You seem to have grown wings." He said as he held my neck and kissed his mark while tightening his hold on my neck."Preston!" I screamed as he kept strang
