Dina's POV
“Did I cockblock you?” I asked, feeling a little bolder this time. Which again earned me another chuckle from the alpha.
“No,” he answered with a shake of his head, just as uninterested as he looked. “I'm honestly tired of random hookups. I just---” He paused, glancing at me once before turning his gaze back to the road. “Want something else, I think.”
“So, you haven’t---?” I asked, only to realize that I had no idea how to finish that question. I wanted to ask if he'd slept with her. But then he looked at me, with his eyebrows slightly raised in question and a smug sort of tilt of his lips, and I suddenly remembered who I was trying to question. Mentally, I pitched myself, hoping to wake up from this nightmare.
Shit!
What was I doing?!
“I mean---I-I…!” I tried to explain, but with my heart stuck in my throat I f
Dina's POVI gulped before I slowly turned around to face him. He didn't necessarily look pissed, but the "seriously?"-glare I got, had my lip automatically on pout mode. Seeing it, his eyes momentarily flashed black, before they returned to normal, and he stalked over to me, like a hunter having locked on his prey.“I didn’t mean to say that out loud,” I excused myself, and despite the alpha towering above me, I wasn't afraid of him. Levi Stone would never hurt me. I knew that as surely as I knew the moon and the stars in the skies...“I’m gonna make you pay for that,” the alpha promised in a low, dangerous voice that sent shivers down my spine. Stupid alpha and his sexy voice!“You're not going to ask me to bake something are you?" I questioned while also teasing him a little bit. "I'd burn the house down.""I'm sure you would," he deadpanned, but the amused gleam in his eyes had turned t
Levi’s POVI laughed!Hell, I couldn’t remember the last time I laughed so hard. We were all seated on the now-trashed kitchen floor. In the middle was an electric grill, with white bread and sausages on it. Mick and I had a beer each, while Dina stuck to sparkly water. The extension cord was laid across the floor because Mick accidentally cut the power when he tore down one of the walls. We were all, head to toe, covered in dust and sweat and the house looked like a tornado had been through it.But I was happy...For one, I could finally really enjoy those stolen glances that Dina threw my way.Guilt-free!Dina wasn’t Mick’s girl and my wolf took full advantage of that. His every thought was about her. Even when she teased me about my red locks, he perked up and demanded that we spank her. At this point, any excuse to get her naked and ravish her. To get back at her, I took off my T-shirt wh
I didn’t give Mick much of a choice.I just attacked!“I’d taken on bigger bullies,” I muttered and gave a nonchalant shrug. It hadn’t been much of a fight either. I just gave my wolf control and let him do his thing. He got badly wounded, but he didn’t stop until the rogue wasn’t moving anymore.Once the rouge was dead, we'd turned to Mick. Demanding submission. He’d taken on the challenger. It was his right! Mick lowered his eyes and exposed his neck. And soon the pack followed.I was the alpha! And it suddenly hit me that I never really appreciated my wolf for the times he protected the people we loved. He never gave up in a fight. He was difficult to control, sure, but there was a reason for that. I’d just grown accustomed to always having to fight him, I had forgotten to appreciate his reason to fight…He protected us.All of us.“Shit!”Dina&r
Dian’s POVSometimes I hate my life!I frowned, walking in the cold night, cursing myself for having forgotten my jacket in Alpha Stone’s car. I’d been late for my study group, so by the time I got there, they were all pissed. Understandably. I would have been too, in their shoes. So I made my apology and after explaining things to them, we started working on the project. Not that explaining gave me any extra points. They were all werewolves and hearing that I'd spent the day whelping the alpha and beta, put a weird gloom on their expressions. But I chose to ignore it and instead focused on my homework. We finished about two hours later with the group agreeing that I should finish it. And despite my protests - because there was more than half the work left to do - they still decided to ignore me. And that’s when they decided to break out the drinks. Acknowledging defeat, I took a glass, sipping on it sourly. But
Dina's POVLess than a second later, there was a fist flying at my temple. I reacted more than put any conscious thought into it and let my wolf take over. I sidestepped the attacker, grasping his arm and using his own momentum against him, throwing him onto the street. He crashed into a fence that buckled under the impact.“Bitch,” the wolf growled, scrambling to his feet. I grinned. Well, I wasn’t my mother’s daughter for nothing. And considering my dad had been an Elite, they’d both made sure, I knew how to defend myself.I took a fighting stance, quickly sizing him up. He was big, but not very muscular. He sort of looked scrawny and underfed. As if someone had been mistreating him. And he smelled awful. Like sewage and rot! I'd never met anyone smelling this awful! I'd only ever heard one creature being described as smelling like this but----What the hell was a rogue doing here?!And how
Dina's POV“Levi Stone speaking.”Hearing his voice, sent a flood of relief throughout my body. so powerful and strong, I felt myself sag in relief. Unable to hold it back, a sob escaped my lips and I felt tears pressed against my eyelids.“Dina? What’s wrong?” he growled, and I realized that his voice was full of anger and concern. “Why are you crying?”I closed my eyes and forced myself to concentrate. To breathe and calm down, so I could tell him what had happened...“Alpha---,” I breathed, trying to get a hold of myself. But the second I heard him, my voice started trembling again. My throat closed and I couldn’t speak.Shit! How pathetic is this? I thought I was stronger than this…“Deep breaths, love,” Levi cooed to me over the phone, his voice kinder and gentler than I’d ever heard before. “Where are you? I&rsquo
Dina’s POVI stayed in the alpha’s arms even after my body had stopped trembling. Breathing in his scent seemed to calm my wolf as well as myself. And everything after that seemed like a dream. A very realistic, but an unfortunate nightmare. None of it made any sense. Those rogues. The run. The fight… All of that belonged in a movie. Not my life! What was going on? Why were they after me? How did they get here? What did they want? I didn't have an answer to any of those questions and a part of me wanted to just forget it had ever happened. Yet I couldn't. I had to tell the alpha everything so that he could protect the pack and make sure that nobody else would become a target. Although for some strange reason, I had a nagging feeling that they were after me specifically. But I quickly pushed that feeling away...There was nothing special about me. Why would they come after me? I wasn't anything special, c
Dina's POVHe repeated the question, but all I could do was gape at him. I tried to form some words, but my mouth just opened and closed, not making any words.I knew what he meant...Some werewolf legends told of wolves with unimaginable powers. White Wolves were immune to silver and even had the ability to heal others. Dire Wolves were huge beast-like wolves, that could snap a man in half with their strength. Lycans were werewolf legends, rumored to be the children of the Moon Goddess herself, and were the type of monsters that nightmares were made out of. Even Bloodlusted Wolves were more or less considered a novelty, although it wasn't something a wolf was born with. They said it was a disease, that made the wolf go berserk if the lust for blood wasn’t satisfied, making them one seriously dangerous killing machine. They were easy to identify thanks to their eyes turning red, whenever they were in a blood rage...Wolves, who were
Dina's POVMy heart dropped and my blood ran cold.“Please tell me you’re talking about Las Vegas and not the actual Sin City,” I questioned, feeling a cold shiver creep down my spine. But the genuine fear on his expression said it all.Well, shit!“What would The Vampire King want with us?" I asked, feeling dread slowly creep up my spine. A wolf never wanted to take on a vampire alone and I definitely didn't want to take on a vampire while my wolf was MIA. Sure, a werewolf was stronger than a vampire, but they still had speed and agility on their side.Qualities that were handy in a fight...Only an alpha could ever face a vampire alone and match its speed, but Levi had been the only wolf I'd ever heard of that could take on several of them alone. But then again, Levi's wolf was Bloodlustled and was probably in a deadly league of his own."You don't suppose he'd into burned p
Dina's POVThis had to be some kind of joke, right? Why would anybody want to kidnap me? I was--- well, me! I was as interesting as a sack of potatoes! Hell, I still couldn’t fully wrap my head around what the hell Levi saw in me, but---“You can’t be that surprised,” Michael rolled his eyes at me, unable to believe how incredibly gullible I was. “This isn’t exactly the first time they’ve tried to kidnap you.”Ok, true! But that was because of Dylan, right? Levi said that--- Oh, wait! We never actually finished that conversation…“But-but---,” I stuttered, still trying to wrap my mind around it. “Why?!”“That’s what we’ve been trying to figure out for months now!” Michael groaned. “Why are you the target?”“I-I don’t---,” I began but
Dina’s POVIf I ever see a vampire again – In. My. LIFE! – It will be too soon!My vision was blurry from whatever they drugged me with, and my legs felt like jelly. Scratch that! My entire body felt like gelatin! My brain was woozy and even my wolf was acting like she was high on something. Nothing coherent came from her and I decided to block her out before she gave me a headache.I looked up and noticed I was in some sort of cell. It was dark; the only light coming from a small window on a door on the other side of the wall. I tried to get up, but my body was still sluggish and weak.Which was strange!I could feel my wolf, so why was my strength---? I tried to get up again, but with the same result. I then tried to mind-link Levi, but nothing! The only thing I managed to get was a howl from my wolf, who was acting like someone had lit her tail on fire. She was in pain one moment and
Levi's POVI blinked.“Tattoo?” I echoed in disbelief. Even my wolf was curious now. I’d seen her body naked and bare, and I’d never seen a single spot on her that indicated she had any kind of marking.“She has a tattoo on her back,” Rita continued, unphased by my skepticism. In fact, she was smirking, happy that she knew something that I didn’t: “One that can only be seen in moonlight--- some witchy shit! Scared the hell out of me the first time I saw it.” She shrugged. “She said it was a gift from her mother when she turned 12 and shifted for the first time.”12?!Normal wolves didn’t change until 14! Unless something traumatic happened and forced the wolf; like in my case.“Did something happen when she was 12?” I frowned, not really knowing what to do with this information. It said in her file that she shifted at 14.Was
Levi’s POVI’d been trying to get along with Rita, but all that effort seemed to have resulted in more reasons why I didn't like her. Sure, I knew, I didn’t have the gentlest temper around, but seriously! My anger was in the red zone the second she opened her mouth. She just had an attitude I couldn’t stand. And my wolf straight out hated her!He blamed her that we had to keep away from our mate for so long. If Dina’s scent wasn’t mixed in with hers, we wouldn’t have thought that Mick was seeing Dina. And YES!That was ridiculous, I knew that. But I couldn’t seem to move to pass it!We walked in an awkward silence back to the packhouse. Neither one of us could get there fast enough and, hopefully, Mick would join us soon. So far, he’d been acting as the middleman between us. Otherwise, I think I would have rejected her as my Beta Female already.I
Dina’s POVIt was so painfully obvious that Dylan was the culprit, that I almost felt embarrassed for myself. Who else had been an expert at sneaking in and out of the pack, without anyone noticing? He knew the routine, the shifts, the training… Everything! He knew this pack borders like the back of his hand. And if there was some sort of secret passageway to get in and out of the pack, I know he knew about it! I’d heard him brag about it more times than I cared to remember. And he was the one who helped the vampires and the rogues to get in and out.I couldn’t believe that my brother would sell out his pack like that. The “why” didn’t really matter to me. If there was money in it, it wasn’t below Dylan to sell out his own mother to get rich fast.Thank the goddess that they weren’t around to see what their son had become…My wolf was pissed! Our
Dina's POVI dozed off again but woke up when a pleasant voice sounded in the room.“Alpha?” I recognized Michael’s voice. “I heard she was awake.”I tried to open my eyes again and this time, I successfully managed to make out the light in the room and the tall, dark-haired man in the doorway. Things were still blurry, but I noticed that the more came into focus the stronger my wolf felt. Well, the wolf and human really were one…“She is, but she’s resting,” Levi mumbled, clearly pissed off by being disturbed. His voice was gruff and husky. Apparently, he’d been asleep too. “What do you want?”“I came here to see my best friend so bug off,” another sharp voice said, shuffling the beta out of the way and getting in. I grinned at the welcoming sound of my favorite pain in the ass. Once she got close enough, I could even see her face clearly as a war
Dina’s POVWaking up, it felt like someone had run me over with a semi-truck. Everything was hurting, my muscles were sore, and my throat felt like someone had tried to cleanse it with a steel brush.“She’s breathing on her own now,” I heard a woman say somewhere next to me. “It’s a good sign, Alpha.”Alpha? Levi was here?“Le---” I tried to call out to him, but my voice was hoarse and gruff. As if I’d spent all night screaming. And not in a good way! I had a metallic taste in my mouth and, for some reason, it felt like I had a ton of bricks on top of me, making it extremely difficult to breathe.I tried to open my eyes but was met with complete darkness.“Dina!” A dark, velvet voice sounded on my other side. It was a voice I recognized, no matter where I was.“Levi,” I sighed, feeling tears push against my ey
Levi's POVI roared, making it clear that she was currently insignificant to me.“They-they don’t want her dead,” she screamed, and finally her red swollen eyes met mine. “It-it was for you!”Shocked, I felt my anger dim.The poison was for me?!Why?Had I been the target all along?Had I been looking at this the wrong way the entire time?“They wanted to kill you," Angela continued to cry, as something that looked like regret and pain flashed across them. I just wasn't sure who those feelings were for. "They need her alive.”So, my mate was the target.But---?“WHY?”The question left my lips before I’d even managed to think. It didn't make any sense. Why would they target my mate? What was so special about her? Other than her being the most amazing person I'd ever had the great hono
