He sat there with his eyes closed. The cold breeze passed him. He was concentrating at the sound of the waterfall and the nature around him. His nose picked the sweet scent of the forest around him. It had been a while since he came here. If it wasn’t because he was a vampire, he would have come here anytime he could. But, he had to wait for a nighttime for him to enjoy the outside world. Vampires could get killed if they were exposed to the sun for a long period.
Days passed. Mira grew restless in the cabin. Mostly, she was angry at Vincent for what he did. Then, she was angry at Cohen, Liam, and Brandon for not stopping Vincent from going. She knew the moment Vincent got caught by the first battalion, it would take everything to get him out.
How could he forget such a spectacular night with his mate? From a light conversation to making her moaning his name on the bed. He was very careful with her body as if she was fragile. Every scar on her body spoke volume of her past and yet he kissed them all. And of course, he was territorial when his love bites stayed on her skin. He was expecting her to claw him for putting so much love bites but no, she loved it. All his touch and kisses, she loved each of them — and moaned his name even.
Liam just wanted to brief the Enforcers and wait for Cohen’s return when the Werewolf Council’s Supreme Commander, Leonardo Pierce, appeared on the pack mansion’s doorstep. Liam gritted his teeth as he had to entertain the Supreme Commander now.
Shaking her head to get over the noises from her surroundings, Mira looked around. She was sitting on a silver chair and her hands were chained behind while her ankles were chained to the chair’s legs. At times like this, she could use help from her monster but she still couldn’t feel her monster’s presence in her mind.
He was so close to sinking his teeth on Leonardo’s neck for wanting to bring Mira for trial while the vampires had taken her hostage. They were so busy wanting to bring her in for trial while they put a blind eye on her abduction. Cohen doubted her safety was important to them. Maybe what they wanted was what she was. A demon wolf with infinite secrets locked inside her DNA.
Mira stood there. Everywhere was darkness and fog. She felt so cold until she could see her own breath. She stared at her trembling hands. Something was different this time. Suddenly, the fog dissipated into one direction as if it was a sign for her to move on. She followed the direction opened by the fog.At the end,
Mira’s eyes shot open, revealing the demon wolf’s eyes as she screamed. She struggled on the bed. Cohen pinned her down to the floor while Amanda was yelling some words as if she tried to calm Mira using magic. Amanda put her hand on Mira’s forehead and whispered more words to her ear. Slowly, the struggle ceased and her eyes shut once again. But her body remained burning hot.
“Mira…” he called her softly.Mira looked at him and saw the hatred in his eyes. In his arms was the body of a woman. Mira didn’t recognize that woman but it seemed like she meant so much to Cohen. Then, her eyes
