DR. WINTER'S POV

"He found him?’

Geron nods and wraps an arm around my quaking shoulders. 'You can calm down now, Kael is safe.”

"Safe?” A mirthless laugh escapes my throat as I pull away from Geron. A crowd is forming around us as everyone has been waiting for the last batch of the search team to return. “Ÿou obviously don't know anything about Westerners.”

A roar of grumblings and angry remarks arises as pack members rage at my comment. I can't care less as all I feel is anger.

DR. WINTER'S POVGeron’s eyes flutter slowly before shutting themselves. “G?” I press my head to his chest and I hear his shallow heartbeat. He's alive, but I'm not certain for how much longer. Someone has called the medics already, as their siren blares from a distance. The crowd hovers around me, chattering and gasping as they watch Geron and me. Their sympathy and empathetic gestures prick at my flesh like thorns. There's nothing genuine about WestMoon; even their moonlight casts a hollow darkness beneath its glow. With tears trickling down my face, I rip Geron’s shirt apart, revealing more blade cuts and ghastly scars. Placing the ripped pieces on the cold floor, I rest his head gently. My eyes linger on the blood all over my hands, the red marring my olive skin. Distorted lights blur my vision and all I see is myself six years ago. I'm lying on the forest ground, exhausted and screaming for help as I push out my son. Madam Gina hands me my baby with blood all over him. My hands a

Alpha Xavier’s POVIt’s been years since I’ve worn a tie, or anything as serious as the foreign two-piece tuxedo I have on right now.“I can't believe my eyes.” Steve bellows as he walks into my room, holding my gold cufflinks.“Did you find it?” I ask, ignoring Steve’s wide grin as he inspects me excitedly. He hands over the cufflinks and watches me keenly as I put them on with much difficulty.Sweat patches are forming on my head already, and I haven't even gone out for the dinner party yet. Who knew dressing up was a high-intensity cardio workout?“I wasn't this nervous on my wedding day.” Steve comments, stifling a laugh. “You're sweating like a kid going to his prom night.”This time around, I join Steve in laughing at myself. If I’m being honest, it’s been a while since I’ve been excited about anything.Groaning, I toss away the tie and look back at the mirror. I’m fine without a messed-up tie. I loosen a button and adjust myself in the fancy tux.“It's not your wedding, sir.” S

  • The Alpha's Miracle Doctor   EPISODE 18

Jayda’s POVThe sunrise is ugly. The room smells like rotten flowers and the tea my servant handed me tastes like horse dung. “Koch!” I lash out, setting the teacup back on its tray. A short middle-aged man rushes in, hands held behind him. He flashes me a smile, exposing his two uneven front teeth. It's been over ten years of Koch serving me, and that smile never fails to bother me. “What is this?” I ask, my facial muscles quivering as I pout my lips. His yin-yang eyes lower to the hot cup of tea, and he looks at me again. “Tea, just as you like it.”A low growl escapes my lips. “Ten years and you still don't know what I like.” Koch shakes his head. “But you loved this mixture yesterday.” “That's yesterday!” I yell, my hands losing grip on the tray and the teacup falls to the floor. “Clean this up!” My blood is riling up inside me as I look out the floor to ceiling window. The training field is filled with handsome young betas challenging one another, shirtless and glowing wit

  • The Alpha's Miracle Doctor   EPISODE 17

Alpha Xavier’s POVI’m no stranger to death. I become familiar with its gnashing nature quite young—in the dark cages of the packhouse dungeon where father traps outcasts found around our pack borders. Some are even kids who know nothing about the bad blood in this terrain.I see things no child should see, and I am forced to do things that haunt me to this very day.Zakar says it's not our fault, but it's my hand that’s tainted, not his. He’ll never understand what it means to never shut your eyes to sleep because of ghosts haunting you. It's been over fifteen years since I sleep without drugs that prevent dreams, and last night on the border between death and life, I become prey to the ghosts.Their voices, their footsteps, their cries loom over me like a cloud of fire. I should run, but I’m tired and willing to let it go. If death means freedom, then so be it.I stay still, my hands covering my ears and my eyes shut tight—just as I do in the cages years ago. Their voices grow loude

(Warning: This chapter contains violence and physical assault)Alpha Xavier’s POVThis is insane. I love it.Adrenaline pumps through my veins, making my chest rise and fall. It's the closest thing to feeling alive I’ve felt in a long while. The ringmaster gives me a glance that says, “last chance.”I smirk and his pitiful look morphs into a glare. The naked ladies perform a twirling dance which the crowd cheers to.While they do their brief performance, my eyes scan the ten giant Lycans around me, and my blood runs hotter. Will I survive? Is this the last view I’d have before going into the dark forever? How I wish it was someone pretty, not this bunch of uglies.“This is a waste of our time.” One Lycan spits out in annoyance. “I wanted a challenge.”“Calm.” Another one whose teeth are sharpened akin to tiny blades hisses. “The money is good. We can have other fights later on.”I laugh out.“What's funny?” Another big guy snaps.I flex my arms and crack my neck. “I’ll double the amou

DR. WINTER'S POVI wander farther down the fields, past all the carefully tended plants and ornaments and into the overgrown fields where no one passes or remembers to tend.It takes me hours because by the time I stop to sit, the harsh afternoon sun has assumed an orange glow over the horizon. For the first time in six years, I am lost. Although I have spent a lot of years in WestMoon packhouse, I never wandered to these parts, neither do I know hidden routes or paths. It seems like Jayda and Xavier have a way of making me lose my way, because the last time this happened to me is the first time I’d had a Jayda-Xavier love encounter.A headache throbs steadily behind my eyes and my nose is runny from all the crying I’ve done.I decide to rest my banging head on the rough field grass, but as soon as I shut my eyes, sleep takes over. The next time I open my eyes, the sun is replaced by constellations of twinkling stars.“Ohhhh,” I groan, sitting up and looking around me. My entire body
