Chapter 3

Author: Hans Golden
For a moment, Ethan froze, taken aback by my wrath.

After hearing what I said, whispers immediately spread among the guests.

"Did you hear her? She just claimed she's been dating Alpha Ethan for three years and that today was supposed to be their wedding. She even said that she built this shrine for him. Do you think any of that's true?"

"Obviously not. Anyone can brag. We've all watched Ethan grow up. We know his character better than anyone."

"She said she built the shrine? Might as well say she owns the whole Moonveil Pack too!"

At that moment, a soft voice spoke up. "But I saw her dress in a magazine once. It was from a really expensive designer brand. I've never even seen Lilith wear something like that."

Lilith immediately shot the woman a furious glare.

"What do you even know about fashion? We're neighbors, and yet you're siding with her?"

The woman flinched and quickly went silent.

Satisfied, Ethan looked away and grabbed Lilith's hand, lifting it high to display their matching moonstone rings that glittered under the light.

Looking down at me with a superior air, Ethan spoke as though he'd already won.

"Elizabeth, you said today was supposed to be our wedding, but can you prove that? Did we ever exchange vows? Did I ever mark you as mine? Did I ever give you any token of mate bond?

"Words alone aren't enough. But I've given all those things to Lilith."

Lilith leaned against his shoulder. Her smile was smug and victorious. "Exactly, Elizabeth. You really shouldn't make false claims."

What Ethan said painted me as guilty, and I had no way to argue back.

It was true. Even though I'd agreed to be his mate, I was naive enough not to ask for any formal symbols of commitment.

Back then, I'd loved him wholeheartedly. Since I had everything I could possibly need, I never thought I'd need proof.

I never imagined that someday, this love would turn into a blade poisoned with silver and pierce my heart so deeply.

Soon, everyone in the shrine began pointing at me while murmuring accusations.

"Oh, please, she's a home-wrecker! What excuse could she possibly come up with now?"

"We can't let her get away with this! She needs to be taught a lesson!"

Immediately, a man grabbed me roughly by my hair and dragged me painfully to the ground.

Kayden gave a discreet nod to the sleazy, shirtless man, silently signaling to him.

The man instantly understood. He bent down with a disgusting grin, and his hands moved eagerly to rip open my dress.

"Sweetheart, being a homewrecker is wrong. Let me give you a little lesson in morals today."

I screamed desperately, twisting my body in panic, but several others pinned my arms and legs firmly in place. Overwhelmed with fear, I screamed Ethan's name, desperately hoping he still had some shred of conscience left to stop this madness.

Ethan's eyes widened, and he started to move forward.

But at that moment, Lilith gently tugged on his sleeve. "She ruined our wedding. I feel awful, and she deserves a small lesson."

Ethan hesitated slightly. "But..."

"It's just a small lesson. You know our pack. They know their limits. Besides, we're right here watching. What could possibly happen?"

Ethan fell silent and didn't move any further.

Lilith wrapped her arms around him possessively, while Ethan absently stroked her back. They watched as more filthy hands reached toward me.

"Let go of me! You're disrespecting your future Luna! The Moon Goddess will punish you!"

But before I could say another word, someone slapped me hard, and my vision blurred.

"You filthy slut, how dare you talk down to us? This isn't disrespect. This is exactly what you deserve!"

Their vulgar insults flooded me like a tidal wave, leaving me drowning in shame.

Just when I thought all hope was lost, when I was certain that my dignity and innocence were about to be destroyed, a commanding voice suddenly echoed from the entrance. "My apologies, everyone. I had something urgent and arrived late."

But when the newcomer saw my face, his tone shifted instantly to horror. "Stop this now! What the hell are you all doing?"

I had fulfilled my promise. I left Ethan with nothing and reclaimed everything I had ever given him.Two weeks later, the Alliance Court convened. I didn't even need to show up in person since Silas was representing me.The Supreme Court fell silent as the chief elder's authoritative voice echoed solemnly."The defendant, Ethan Alexander, deliberately deceived Elizabeth Carter through a false relationship, illegally obtaining substantial financial resources. He misused his administrative position, embezzled pack assets on a massive scale, and maliciously permitted violence against Elizabeth at the crime scene. The crimes are severe."Pausing briefly, he scanned the defendants sharply."For these crimes, Ethan Alexander is sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment. He will be stripped of his Alpha title and will be exiled as a rogue wolf in seven days."Ethan collapsed onto the stand. His face was completely drained of color.Lilith whipped around to stare at him. Her lips were tremb

The giant electronic screen switched to a detailed personal profile."Elizabeth Carter, daughter of Adrian Carter, Leader of the Werewolf Alliance, graduated with honors from the world's top Werewolf Academy. She is the only rightful heir to the Alliance."At that moment, the screen began displaying footage of me representing the Alliance at various important pack summits. It also showed a photo of my mother, the High Priestess of the Moon Goddess Sanctuary, with her arm around my shoulders, smiling warmly beside me at the Moon Goddess' crowning ceremony.Shock rippled through the entire hall. Those same guests who'd called me a "tramp", and an "assistant", and even accused me of selling myself, now went deathly pale. Many collapsed onto the ground, their legs giving out beneath them."She... She really is the Alliance leader's daughter?""Oh my God, we've offended someone incredibly powerful!""Will we go to jail? Are we going to be executed?"Lilith was the first to snap out

The sudden chaos plunged everyone into stunned silence.Victor Kavanagh, my father's Beta, sprinted forward and viciously kicked away the men around me. He sent them flying several feet into the ceremonial altar.Immediately, two female warriors lifted me to my feet, wrapping me protectively in an ornate coat bearing our family crest.Ethan's face twisted in fury as he finally snapped out of his shock. He glared at Victor. "Are you insane? I'm the Alpha of Moonveil Pack! I'm the one who summoned you here! Are you fools so stupid that you can't recognize your own Alpha?"Marcus shouted desperately, "Guards! Kick these troublemakers out!"But the shrine guards didn't move an inch. Instead, they deliberately stepped back and silently watched the chaos unfold.Marcus nearly exploded. "Did you not hear my order? How dare you ignore me!"At that moment, rhythmic, powerful footsteps approached. My father's chief advisors and the pack's elders marched solemnly into the shrine.Ethan's

A familiar figure appeared at the entrance. It was Marcus Bush, the administrator of the shrine.A faint glimmer of hope rose in my heart.Marcus had served under my father and practically watched me grow up.When I'd first built this shrine, my father even asked Marcus specifically to keep an eye on me. Marcus had once sworn his loyalty to me and pledged his life to me.Now, seeing me pinned down and humiliated, Marcus' face went deathly pale. Even his voice cracked with fear as he asked, "What on earth is going on here?"Kayden quickly cut in. "Mr. Bush, this woman caused trouble at Alpha Ethan's wedding. Everyone here is just helping the Alpha teach her a lesson. If you don't believe me, ask Alpha Ethan himself."Ethan stiffly nodded in reluctant agreement.Marcus' expression twisted with conflict. His eyes darted uncertainly between me and Ethan. After a tense pause, he seemed to make up his mind, clenching his jaw as he slowly stepped backward toward the entrance."She in

I almost burst out laughing at Kayden's remark. I tapped Ethan's foot with the tip of my shoe."Have you forgotten who I am? Do you really think I'd ever need to be your assistant? Does your father-in-law not even know what position his daughter holds in the pack?"Before I finished speaking, a man sitting nearby spat popcorn kernels right into my face. The entire crowd burst into laughter."You're trying to cling to him, but you don't even know who he is? He's not just anyone. He's the Alpha who rules over vast territories, with wealth beyond anything you can imagine. He commands thousands of pack warriors and owns more mansions and luxury cars than you can count. And this grand shrine? It belongs to Alpha Ethan!"And Lilith? She's no ordinary administrator. She's managed the pack's daily operations and closed several major deals, strengthening the Moonveil Pack many times over in a short span of time!"Wait, what? Lilith managed the pack, closed business deals, and helped stren
