LOGINDorothy's POV:
She was completely lost.
Outside the castle was pitch-dark. It was nighttime already.
Even her werewolf vision wasn't seeing much in such complete darkness.
She touched the walls, but she had lost her sense of direction as well because she had actually never been here before, so she had no idea where she was going.
Unfortunately for her, her phone was also completely dead, as though she didn't already have enough problems. Neither did she have any of the alpha heirs' numbers since, well, they weren't exactly besties now, were they?
Great, this is exactly what happens on the first day of walking right into your enemies' house like you are going on vacation.
"Danger," Hera alerted her.
This was actually a perfect time for someone to strike her.
Not that they had any reason to.
No one knew who she really was.
Richard wasn't stupid enough to attack her.
He would be placing a very bad bet, and he would lose.
She stood very still, closed her eyes, and listened.
A loud bang made her pause. Her senses caught it, and she moved aside to the right.
Her eyes opened, and her nose caught the smell. Someone was here.
She turned to see Austin holding a gun, shirtless, standing in a doorway, light casting around his dark frame. His chest was ripped and hard with muscles, scars, and tattoos.
His eyes held hers with no remorse.
"I was hunting for prey."
"Indoors?"
"Yeah. Why are you moving around in the dark?"
"Why do you have a gun?"
"I'm a werewolf. I hunt."
"With a gun?"
"With my teeth and a gun." He smirked.
"You missed. You are not a very good one, then..." she cajoled.
"Well, isn't that suspicious for a little nobody pet omega to actually dodge my bullet, which I am a precise marksman and the top hunter in our school?"
She became cautious.
"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying... strange... but we'll just have to wait and see."
He turned to retreat into his room.
"Ah, your room is the last door down the hall."
"Hope I don't die before I reach it," she said sarcastically, and he chuckled.
"I hope so too."
The doors shut behind him, taking the only light with them.
She walked in a straight path, and as she reached for the door, it opened itself.
Richard stood there, a contemptuous look in his eyes.
"Getting lost in this castle will get you killed."
She walked into the bedchamber, and as soon as the door clicked shut, she spun around at wolf speed, grabbed Richard by the neck, and lifted him off the ground.
"Richard..." she called him sweetly.
"You wouldn't dare betray me, right?"
"I wouldn't dare."
"Right? So why does Austin suspect me?" she sighed, dropping him, and he coughed harshly as he hit the ground.
"I believe it's your aura. Your face appears gentle, naive, and easy, but your aura has a dark mystery to it."
"Hmmm. I'll have to conceal my aura, then."
She began to loosen the corset of her dress.
"Do you want to watch?" she asked sarcastically.
He glared hard and hatefully at her, then stood up and left the room.
The sound of the door echoed in the dead-silent castle.
She brought a mirror from her suitcase and placed it on her vanity.
She brought a bunch of red rose petals, a bit dead, poured them around the mirror, and slit her wrist with a dagger.
She lit a candle by the mirror.
"I summon you, Witch of the Moon."
This was her gift.
Every werewolf chosen by the Moon Goddess was blessed with gifts.
The alpha heirs had many gifts. She had some as well.
The real Dorothy didn't have gifts, which was why she had to hide most of her powers.
The witch appeared, pale and glowing like moonlight, with long midnight hair and eyes that had stars floating in them.
She appeared with a gust of fierce wind and a flash of lightning, followed by a pound of heavy, thunderous rain as she hovered over the vanity.
"Your Highness, you have summoned me."
"We've talked about this, Witch of the Moon. You must not refer to me by title for now."
"Yes, understood."
"The alpha heir Austin can sense my aura. Can you conceal it?"
"Your—Dorothy, your aura is not something I can easily conceal. Your power is superior to mine. I am just a servant, and you are my master."
"Yes, I'm aware."
"Still, I cannot risk my identity being exposed until I've carried out my plans."
The Witch of the Moon nodded.
"Indeed, I know a temporary spell."
"It will make your beauty so distracting that they won't be able to sense your aura. Only those with a dominant aura might still be able to sense it."
"Go ahead."
The Moon Witch walked to the bathtub, turned on the tap, arranged candles around the bath, and poured some herbs into the bath.
"Your Highness—Dorothy, please step into the bath."
She stood up and let her dress fall, stepping into the water.
The Moon Witch began the incantation.
A few minutes later, a soft knock sounded on the door. The witch vanished into thin air.
She wrapped herself in a robe and cautiously approached the door. She opened it gently, taking a peek.
A maid stood outside.
"It's dinner time, my lady. The alpha heirs request your presence."
Ugh, those attention-seeking brats!
She thought to herself as she smiled at the maid.
"I'll be joining them shortly."
She shut the door and put on a simple outfit, just jeans and a crop tee.
She checked her phone.
No missed calls from anyone.
Obviously, the alpha heirs only wanted to use her to elevate their boredom.
She would, however, use this opportunity to fish for information about the Moon Orb, and whether or not it was in this massive mansion. Any clue of its whereabouts would be very helpful.
She forced herself to smile as she navigated her way to the now brightly lit hallway.
Meaning, all the while she had walked in darkness, this hallway actually had lights. So someone had tried to play a cruel prank on her, or Austin had really wanted to test her... or kill her.
The guards opened the door to the large dining room.
Either way, she was not sure she was going to have any peace in this house, not with the way the alpha heirs looked at her.
Not with the presence of Isabella or Lucia.
And definitely not with the real Dorothy locked underground.
This was going to be interesting.
Daniel looked up at her.
"Oh, the pet has arrived. Entertain us... bark."
😁😁😁
Dorothy’s POV:“He kissed her on the lips hard and rough, his tongue brushed between her lips, and she moaned at his taste.”“Goodness, how does she read this shit?” She shivered in disgust as she threw the book across the room. The real Dorothy was humming as she moved around the room, her eyes gleaming.“You seem excited for school.”“It’s just been so long since I’ve been there.”“All you ever received at that school was hate, Dorothy.”“Well, you may be right, but... I still love school. I remember how hard I worked to get into the academy, and I am proud to be its student.”“How did you even get in with such bad grades?”“Luck, I guess. By the way, how did the interrogation go?”“Now you remember? You were sleeping peacefully in the home of a kidnapper and murderer last night.”“Well, can’t blame me. If you were going to kill me, you would have by now.”“Fair point. You will have to attend school on my behalf for three days. Don’t do anything stupid, don’t go near the alphas, and
Dorothy’s POV:She stepped into the underground chamber beneath the tree roots, covered in blood. The wild wolves had actually managed to cut her deeply. They were precise in their attacks, meaning they were not amateurs. The real Dorothy screamed in shock when she saw her.“What happened to you?”“Living as you is a nightmare.” She groaned breathlessly, then grabbed her by the neck and slammed her against the center table. “You see that shit you just pulled? Try it again, and I’ll rip out your limbs and chain you by your neck to the walls.”The real Dorothy nodded, turning a little blue before she released her.“By the goddess, you almost killed me.”“You can’t die yet, unfortunately. I need to find a way to infiltrate the Alpha King’s palace, and I think I might have a way. Throughout today, I have been unable to gain access to the Moon Orb. If it doesn’t appear during the festival, then I will really have no choice but to enter the palace.”“What do you want to do in the palace?”Sh
Dorothy’s POV:“Welcome to the annual First Moon Festival. We are expecting many werewolves to be present to find their mates and bond with them. This is what flourishes our pack and increases our population, preventing extinction and bringing us more power,” the principal announced from the podium.“If you find yourself a mate, you can expect to perform the first mating ceremony during graduation, and you will be invited to an honorary masquerade ball. Let the festival begin!”The drums rolled dramatically as fireworks shot into the sky.The moon was bright with pride, and the howls of the wolf choir rhythmically filled the night, along with their cheerful laughter.Naturally, everyone mingled, desperately trying to find a mate.Meanwhile, her mate stood next to a sour-looking Cleo. She still looked very much disgusted, but she put on a front to save face.Just because Austin had called off the engagement didn’t mean it would actually be called off.Their marriage was a political alli
Dorothy's POV:"What the hell!!!!"Cleo dropped the head, and as it rolled to her feet, she stepped back, bumping into Isabella."Watch where you're going, you fat, ugly pig!" Isabella pushed her, and she fell, coming face-to-face with the dead head before throwing up.Isabella ran to Cleo. "Oh my God, Cleo, are you okay?" She hugged her close.Cleo threw up on her, and Isabella screamed. "Oh no! This is Versace!""I'm so sorry. I don't feel so good." Cleo collapsed. Her ears were ringing, and the students were screaming so loudly. She, too, blacked out."Oh my God, they fainted! Someone help us!"Isabella dropped to her knees, pumping Cleo's chest and performing CPR.Daniel barged into the class suddenly as Isabella blew air into Cleo's mouth, then continued pumping her chest.Isabella looked at Daniel with teary eyes. "Babe, please help me.""Move!"Daniel pushed Isabella aside, lifting Cleo into his arms and rushing out of the classroom. At this point, she felt faint herself and nea
Dorothy's POVHer cheeks had almost healed completely. Thankfully, she had the best healing abilities. If it were the real Dorothy, it would have taken at least a week for the injuries to heal.Students stared at her as she moved through the hallway to get her books for Wolf Biology class. Everyone was whispering again.“Did you hear?”“Austin and Cleo kinda broke up because of her?”“What? They aren't just ordinary boyfriend and girlfriend. They have been bonded since birth to be married!”“Exactly. That's just terrible. She's a bad omen. I even heard she's Austin's mate. How unfortunate for him.”“Even if she is a low-class wolf like her, she can't be royal blood. She's probably going to be a concubine.”She slammed her locker shut and glared at them.“I have ears, you know. I can hear!”The students immediately dispersed.A bad omen. A wolfless. A bottom rank.It seemed she was destined for misfortune.“Miss Dorothy.”She turned to see Claire.“No one even wants to be friends with y
Dorothy's POV:“You look just like someone, Princess... I just can't place it right now.” He trailed off, and she released a sigh of relief.“Why is Austin talking to someone like her?”“Is she really the promised maiden?”“No way! Someone like her!”The students whispered in outrage.“They're gossiping about you... They can't stand that someone like you is standing so close to me.”“Please, like it's anything special,” she blurted out, and the students gasped.“Don't provoke my fans and future subjects, Dorothy,” he purred. “If you don't think standing so close to me is so special, why are your cheeks so red?”“Oh, please. You startled me, that's why.”“So you swear you're not blushing?”“Blushing! For you?” She burst out laughing. “I'd rather blush for a co—”He grabbed her before she could finish her statement, slamming her against the wall. She gasped as he placed his hand over her mouth.“You don't want to provoke the entire school by insulting me,” he warned in a whisper near her
