Violet's body exploded with mixed emotions and feelings.

Her blood was running through her veins so intensively, that she could almost hear it.

Her lower belly was contracted and ordering her to get even closer to his body.

Her arms and hands were now out of her control and taking actions by themselves.

She could feel his hair intertwined on her fingers, and his hands were squeezing every part of her body that he could reach.

Her sides, her legs, her butt…

Somehow he managed to loose her hair from the ponytail, and his fingers were now tangled on her soft hair.

For a few minutes, Violet completely forgot what she had to do, why she was there on the first place…

But when they backed off for a bit, to recover their breaths, Violet came to her senses.

How did she let that happen? How could she lose control like that?

Why didn't her inner wolf helped her run away, instead of encouraging her?

She blinked twice trying to pull herself together.

When the man tried to approach her again with his lips, she put her hands on his chest and pushed him away.

"I can't… I'm sorry." she said, running towards the door and not looking back.

She couldn't…

She had to find Jack Morde, kill him and get the hell out of there.

But she was now back to square one.

Why wasn't Jack a very loud and arrogant man that liked to make an impression?

That would make it much easier to recognize him among all of those people.

She ran back to where everyone was.

She looked back a few times to see if the man she kissed was coming after her, but there was no one.

Deep down, that kind of bothered her.

But she wasn't going to think about it at that moment.

Suddenly, while walking between some people, she looked through the glass door that led to the pool, and saw a circle of people very excitedly talking to a man.

He seemed very popular and everyone seemed to want his attention.

It was him. It had to be.

Violet's brain started to work in a hurry. What was she going to do?

How would she approach him with so many people around him?

She started to walk outside, pretending that's where she wanted to go without any special reason.

Sneaking through the corner, she tried to listen to what they were saying. She had to make sure he was the right person before she could think of a way to be alone with him.

She would probably have to try to lure him to some room, but what should be her excuse? It had to be something very important so he would be interested.

Maybe she could tell him that she was spying on the Diamond Pack and had some information for him.

She could make that sound true, since she knew a lot from her pack. It shouldn't be hard to come up with some harmless but fake information.

But when she decided what to do, she felt a movement behind her and turned to look, getting distracted for a moment.

When she realized what was happening, it was already too late.

"There she is! Don't let her escape!" Violet saw one of the guards that was on the gate pointing at her.

A few more guards were also with him, and when she tried to run, she felt someone grabbing her wrists and putting them behind her back with a lot of strength.

They were hurting her, and she started to feel her body trembling inside.

That wasn't a good sign. Her inner wolf was trying to show up. She couldn't allow that to happen in front of everyone.

What would they think if they knew she was from the Diamond Pack? She couldn't ruin her cover-up like that.

A lot of people could think that they were irrational werewolves and think they shouldn't be ruling the Crescent.

But it was getting really hard to control herself. She was in danger, and that was a way of her body to protect her.

They dragged her through the hallways and took her to a place she didn't see before while searching for Jack.

Her anger was getting stronger and her fear was getting in the way. She was starting to feel emotional.

Her legs were trembling and she could barely walk.

The guards were pulling her through her arms, but her legs gave in and she fell on the floor.

Violet could sense that she was going to shift soon.

"Inject that on her! She is going to shift. Quickly, now!"

She heard someone yelling that, but the moment she turned her head to look, she felt a sharp and painful sting on her right arm.

They injected something on her body.

Her eyes started to get blurry and she started to lose her senses. She was going to pass out.

"Put her in the dungeon."

Violet could only hear that before she blacked out completely.

It was unclear how long it had been since she was unconscious.

***

She opened her eyes slowly, feeling her head very heavy and dizzy and her body stiff.

It took a while for Violet to adapt to the darkness. It was cold and whatever she was standing on, was making her body hurt.

The floor was hard and humid, and then she remembered to hear them talking about the dungeon.

They captured and arrested her. Exactly how she feared.

"What the…?" she tried to move, but realized her legs and hands were tied up.

At that same moment, the big wooden door made a loud squeak and a very strong gleam enlightened the place.

Violet closed her eyes to protect it from the light, and when she got used to the environment, she could see who was there.

And it didn't make any sense at all.

"What are you doing here?"

The same man that kissed her, her mate, was standing in front of her, with a serious and annoyed look on his face.

It was like his eyes could actually kill her.

"I believe I should be the one asking that." he said with his teeth clenched. "Who the hell are you?"

Violet had to think fast.

She was as good as dead if they found out she was from the Diamond Pack.

"I'm from the Mahina Pack. I was invited here. Why did they arrest me? I didn't do anything." Violet acted as if she was offended.

"You know what? I'm pretty sure you're not from the Mahina Pack, but I'll let you go with that for now. Eventually I'll discover who you are and what you came here for."

"You can't leave me here. Who do you think you are? Let me go!" Violet struggled trying to let her hand loose, but it was useless.

The man smirked and raised his brow at her, and if Violet wasn't so nervous and afraid, her heart would probably betray her.

"Who do I think I am? I'm the owner of this house, the host of this party. You should know that, don't you think? Since you said I invited you."

What?

"You…" Violet lost her words. "You are…"

"Jack Morde. I wanted to say it was a pleasure to meet you, but now I'm a little uncertain about that."

Oh, my God!

It was true that she had helped all that take place in the first place, but for her it felt kind of an obligation to do the right thing.Violet also saw the walls being destroyed by the guards of the Diamond Pack and a lot of volunteers. She finally felt at peace, knowing that she'd probably never see those bricks being put their again.Lance was the best decision for th

Violet wasn't sure if she had listened correctly."Exiled?" she repeated.Lance nodded, but asked her and Jack to follow him to an empty room next to his office."I didn't want anyone to listen to this yet. I still didn't make the official announcement to the pack. I also need to go throw the coronation ceremony first, so…" Lance started closing the door. "I talked to the council and they wanted Gwen to rot in jail. Some of them even wanted her to be killed for her treason, since she teamed up and even colluded with a fugitive." Violet felt a shivering in her spine."But I suggested that she would be exiled from the Crescent instead, as a form of punishment for what she did. I tried to use the argument that she might had felt coerced to do all of that since Arden was her father, and she was never prepared to be an Alpha after all.""And they accepted just like that?" Violet asked."Of course not. It took me a while to convince them that she doesn't offer us any threat. They agreed to

"They did what?" Violet asked feeling excited and sad at the same time. She was extremely proud and happy for him, after all, it was something Lance was expecting since he was young. It was also the best option for the Diamond Pack to be finally the pack it deserved. Violet was more than sure that Lance would be an amazing leader, without such things as walls, war for power, and forbidding laws in his government. But at the same time, she knew that it could only mean one thing."So, you're coming back to live here, right? You won't stay with us at the mansion anymore." Violet felt Jack's hand grabbing hers as a sign of comforting. She suddenly felt a lump on her throat."I don't know. I… I'm not thinking clearly at the moment, so… I asked them to give an answer tomorrow. I think we should all rest a bit after tonight, right?" Lance answered. She let go of Jack's hand and crossed the hall, eager to give Lance a hug.Wrapping her arms around his neck, Violet gave him an embrace full of
