There was a time when I thought life was simple. We live, procreate and then die. But now that I think about it, it’s much more complicated than that. Somewhere beyond the lines, there’s a connection that twines every living being to one another.

A connection. Some sort of unexplainable thing that connects us from person to person until you meet the one who you needed at that point in time.

Fate, as the literates call it. If everyone was born in an equal world, then there would be no status quo. No discimination.

I know my potential and I know my limits. If I was born as a Beta, my life would be different.

If I tell everyone I’m just as smart, talented and as woodworking as they are, they’ll only laugh and tell me I’m delusional. Status and rank is everything. I’m not unaware of how the Betas and Gammas see Omegas like me. Just like Rex, when he disappeared I felt nothing. And if I was being honest, I felt a sense of relief.
