Twist Of Fate And Turn Of Events.

The news of what happened to I and Orion on our wedding night spread round the kingdom, becoming a trending gossip.

The doctors carried out tests on Orion and discovered that he had been poisoned. The doctor claimed that the last thing Orion ate was love treat I served him on our wedding night and that the food had been poisoned. I denied flatly but when the doctors fed the remnants of the snack to rats, the rats died within five minutes.

I was arrested instantly and thrown into the dungeon

"She poisoned the prince and set their bedchamber on fire because she doesn't want to be married to him" they said and the news spread round the kingdom like wildfire.

None of my explanations justified my innocence and things got even worse when a shaman investigated the cause of the fire and revealed that it was sorcery. I wasn't sure what happened the other night but I knew it wasn't sorcery,I wasn't a witch, I might be a little different from the other werewolves but I definitely wasn't a witch and what happened at the bedchamber was nothing but a coincidence. I cried and tried to prove my self but news only spread around that I was beautiful and gifted with silver hair because I was a witch, my unusual beauty was as result of my hideous identity

"I'm not a witch please believe me and I didn't poison the prince,I would never commit murder" I stood bound in chains in front of the tribunal which consisted of all the Alphas in the land including Alpha Lucius and he bore a complacent and satisfied look as he on his face

"You never wanted to marry the prince" the magistrate answered "so you have a reason to kill him. You wanted to kill him and burn his body to hide the trace of poison"

"No, that isn't true I know nothing about the fire"

"But the shaman revealed that it wasn't a normal fire"

"I don't know anything about the fire"

"I warned you" Alpha Lucius interrupted, rising to his feet "I warned you all about letting a commoner like her marry the prince but you refused. My daughter deserves to become queen but you decided to cheat her because of this lowlife scumbag"

"Settle down Alpha Lucius" the Alpha King said "the prince will marry your daughter as soon as he gets well"

"Thank you very much your highness" Alpha Lucius said with a bow and sat down, happiness written all over his face

"Is there anything the criminal has to say in defence for herself before the witness comes in?"

Witness? What did he mean by witness

"But I didn't do anything" I shouted"there is no way they could be a witness"

"You think so?"

"I don't think so, my Lord I know so because I'm innocent"

"Let the witness come in" he magistrate announced and a few minutes later Jacinth, one of the two maids who waited on me walked inside the courtroom. I almost went blind with shock and I wiped my eyes several times to confirm the image before me.

"How could you do this to me Jacinth" I cried "what did I ever do to offend you"

But she ignored me and walked to the witness box, after taking the honesty oath, the magistrate said to he

"Tell us everything you saw"

She bowed in respect and began "on the day Venus woke up from coma, she had an argument with the prince and I overheard her tell him that if he forced her to marry him, she would kill him eventually"

The court gasped in shock and I opened the mouth to talk but the magistrate silenced me

"I assisted in preparing the love treat and after we finished making and packaging the food she sent me to her bedchamber but I grew suspicious because what she asked me to get was already with her. So I hid behind the door and saw her put a white mixture on the food,I eventually asked her what it but she said it was a different type of sugar"

"That is a disgusting lie" I shouted with tears in my eyes but no one believed me and I was sentenced to death by beheading.

That night in the dungeon, Franshia and Alpha Lucius paid me a visit

"I warned you not to mess with me didn't I" Edaleen began and I instantly realised that the whole thing was their arrangement. They paid Jacinth to put poison in the food and to bear false witness against me

"If I let you get married to the prince, the truth about your identity would be revealed and I would be in trouble " Alpha Lucius said "The Wolfdusk Pack is yours as you know but you would only get to be its leader in netherworld and when you get there say Hi to your father,my brother for me. I've been looking for a way to rid of you all these while and so I'm happy that the opportunity has come. Serlia's cures won't affect me since I won't be the one killing you by myself. Enjoy your remaining hours on earth and repent of your sins" he took Franshia by the arm and they both began to walk away

"No, you're the one who needs to repent" I shouted after them but they had already left.

I cried my eyes out that night, thinking about the dreadful end I was going to meet. I bemoaned my fate and cursed the day I was born but the pain in my heart didn't go away. I was going to die for a cause I know nothing about and the perpetrators would get away with it. I thought about my life from the beginning till the present moment and while some part of me told me to accept the death sentence as a ticket to peace since I'd never know joy, another part of me reminded me of how much I loved to be alive.

I just remained on the cold floor, waiting and anticipating the worse. The next morning,two guards led me outside to the guillotine where thousands of people were waiting to witness my death, the death of the witch who tried to kill the Alpha Prince. When we got outside, people began booing and jeering at me but I paid no attention to them, what scared me was the terrifying machine that would end my life anytime soon.

The king, queen, princesses, prime minister, magistrate and all of the nobles were present and I know Lunar Edsel and Edaleen were amongst the crowd. It was Edaleen's fault all of this happened to me but no one would ever find out. Tears blurred my eyes and bitter sorrow engulfed my heart, making it hard for me to breathe. I didn't want to die,I didn't deserve to die not especially with a false reputation that would forever go down in history

"Do you have any last words" the executioner asked me

"No she doesn't" Alpha Lucius shouted "if she had anything to say it would be enchanting or hypnotizing spells, just kill her and get it over with. We've already wasted time on her case or haven't we?"

"Yes we have" the crowd echoed in unison and the executioner beckoned on a priest to pray for me and commit my spirit into the Moon Goddess's hands.

"Close your eyes child and seek forgiveness and eternal peace from the mother" After saying that, the old man began to chant silently, holding my two hands in his. I started praying as he instructed but I got carried away such that when the old man fell before me I thought he went on his knees to continue praying. I didn't open my eyes until loud cries of horror emanated from amongst the crowd and when I did, I saw a arrowhead pointing out the old priest's neck and blood gushing everywhere.

But before I could open my mouth to scream thousands more arrows, some with flames rained onto the scene as soldiers dressed in black uniforms swooped down and headed towards the nobles at he angle they sat

"The rouges are attacking again" someone shrieked and the people began to scamper around for their dear lives as more arrows rained down heavily.

A fight ensued between the palace guards and the strange warriors and while it went on I tried my best dodging the arrows as I thought of what to do. My eyes soon caught a dagger on the ground and I hurriedly bent down and started cutting the rope my hands were tied together with.

Fortunately for me,I was able to cut the rope and had joyfully began to think of a place to escape to and how to go about it when one of the strange warriors suddenly swooped down in front of me.

I let out a scream of horror and quickly put up the dagger for defence

"You're the highly coveted precious jewel aren't you?" He asked

"No" I stuttered in response "no I'm not please"

"But you clearly are"

He sent a heavy punch to my forehead before I could say anything more and everywhere went dark in an instant.
