Chapter 36

Adam’s parents let us stay over at their house without question. Their house wasn’t as big as the Alpha’s mansion but they still had plenty of space for us not to get in anyone’s way. They have four children and yet they still have two spare bedrooms in their house.

We were given the spare room closest to Adam’s bedroom, mainly because it was furthest away from the younger children. Adam’s father winked at me and nudged Jasper in the side with his elbow as he gave us that piece of information. I don’t think I have ever been so embarrassed in my life.

We spoke to Adam in his room for a while before heading to our room. I was so exhausted from the stress of earlier that I didn’t even have the energy to get changed into my bedclothes. Instead, I crawled straight into bed and fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow.
