Lilith’s POV

The next morning, Magnus summoned me to his study. He didn’t smile. He just gestured for me to sit, then he leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk like a man about to make a deal with the devil.

“There’s a pack,” he began, with his dangerously low voice. “Blackwood.”

I nodded, recognising the name instantly. Blackwood was a respected and powerful pack. I had tried going there to see if they'd take me in, but other rogues told me they were unapproachable.

“I want their Alpha gone,” Magnus said.

My brows furrowed. “Why?”

Before I could process the question fully, his hand shot out across the desk and wrapped around my throat. I froze, my heart skipping.

“It’s not your business to know why,” he growled, squeezing just enough to make my breath catch. “You follow my orders. That’s the deal.”

I nodded quickly. “Okay—okay. I’m sorry.”

He let go and sat back like nothing had happened. “You’re going to seduce Kieran Blackwood, the Alpha heir. Make him trust you. Make him

Lilith’s POVTEN YEARS AGO—AND EVERYTHING SINCEIt was on a cold winter night. The kind of night that crept under your skin and made your bones ache. I was squatting behind a wrecked, rusting car, trying to hide from other rogues. My fingers trembled as I held the crust of stale bread I had fought with other rogues for earlier that night. It had been tossed out behind a diner, hard as stone and bitter from the exposure, but to me, it was gold. I shoved the piece into my mouth, trying to ignore how dry it was and how it scraped down my throat like sandpaper. My pack had been slaughtered when I was just a teen. I had been living as a rogue ever since, scavenging, stealing, fighting for crumbs every single day, and praying to the goddess or whoever not to freeze to death in the middle of the night.I curled up on the cold ground beside the car, hugging my knees tight. My stomach growled, unsatisfied by the tiny piece of bread, less than a fistful. I blinked up at the night sky, wondering

Lilith’s POV“... My name is Elara Mooncrest,” her voice rang out, all bold and clear like she’d been speaking her whole life. “Wife of Kieran Blackwood and Luna of the Blackwood Pack.”I screamed.“No! No, no, no!” I shrieked, grabbing the tray of food they'd given me earlier and hurling it across the cell. The plate smashed against the wall with a satisfying crack, but it didn’t even scratch the surface of the rage boiling in my chest.I was supposed to be the Luna. Me. Not her.“No, not her,” I growled again, pacing like a caged animal. My fists clenched so tight my knuckles cracked. My jaw ached from how hard I was grinding my teeth.Magnus promised me. Back when he found me living as a rogue. He said I was going to become the Luna of Blackwood Pack and that Kieran would be mine to control and use. I lost that opportunity back then, and now I’m losing the chance to be Luna again? And to no other but to her? To a girl who couldn't even speak for years? Are you kidding me?First, Ma

Elara's POV I could hear the ceremonial hall buzzing with anticipation, the low hum of voices rolling through the air like distant thunder as we went down the stairs.“Nervous?” Kieran asked.“A bit. I wasn’t expecting everyone to gather just to hear me talk,” I said with an awkward laugh.“You're their Luna. Of course, they want to hear you for themselves.” He gave my hand a gentle squeeze.“You look beautiful, Elara,” Tobias said as he joined us at the base of the stairs.“Thank you,” I said, blushing a bit.“Stop blushing, he's a taken man,” Kieran teased. That made me laugh out loud, “Yeah, I'm very aware.”Tobias grinned and turned to Saffron. “You’re more beautiful, honey bun of oats.”My jaw hit the floor. I turned slowly to Kieran, whose expression went so dark, I genuinely thought he was about to strangle Tobias. He took a step forward, but Saffron beat him to it. She smacked Tobias across the back. “I told you to stop with those cringey nicknames,” she scolded. But Tobias

Elara's POV Mira helped me out of the tub with care, wrapping a thick towel around me. “I’ll get your clothes,” Astrid offered, already moving toward the wardrobe. The room buzzed with quiet energy. A silent kind of preparation.I sat before the vanity, watching my reflection in the mirror as Mira gently towel-dried my hair. “We’re going with the soft curls today,” Mira said, combing through my damp strands. “Something effortless. Feminine but dangerous.”Astrid reappeared, laying out a soft ivory gown embroidered with delicate silver thread. “You’ll wear this,” she said with finality. “Simple. Elegant. Regal. Let them choke on your new look.”“I agree, Luna,” Mira added.I chuckled, “As you wish, ladies.”Mira was midway through styling my hair when we heard a knock at the door. I straightened a little. Tobias, I thought. His scent was unmistakable. Kieran must have told him to call me.“Come in,” I called out. But when the door opened, it wasn't Tobias. It was Saffron. When she st

Elara's POVI woke up to a strange, metallic scent filling my nose, instead of the usual warm, amberwood scent that filled our room. I opened my eyes and looked around the room, and strangely enough… it wasn’t our room. The bedsheets were rough and cold to touch, the air was cold too, and the whole room smelled wet and metallic. What was even stranger was the fact that Kieran wasn't here. I remembered dozing off after telling him about the vision I had.So where the hell was I?I sat up slowly, my instincts on edge. The walls in the room were too close, and the ceiling was too low. My stomach twisted. Something about this place felt wrong.I noticed the door was open. I slowly got out of bed and stepped into a dark, narrow hallway. The stone walls were uneven, scratched, and smeared with blood. That was where the metallic scent came from. Was this… a dungeon?I was certain it was my dream, it had to be, but why here? Weren't dreams usually in familiar locations? Then I heard a woman s
