Magnus's POV

I saw her the moment she stepped into the training ground. Elara. She walked beside that weak, unworthy alpha male, holding hands and looking at each other lovingly. That should be me.

I watched him whisper something in her ear, and she smiled before he moved to stand beside the Oracle. Getting past his warriors into the pack was child’s play, Lilith had managed to bewitch his weak-willed warriors, allowing me to sneak in. Today was the day I took back my mate.

I was the first one to meet Elara. Not that weak pup.

My mom and I, goddess rest her soul, were thrown out of Blackwood Pack when I was ten by my father, or rather sperm donor, as I prefer to call him. My mother wasn't his ‘true’ mate. That honor belonged to the woman now in my basement, that weakling’s mother. When he found her, he tossed us like used rags. “You’ll only make things hard for my real heir,” he’d said.

We barely survived for two years, drifting from territory to territory, fighting rogues every dam

  • The Alpha's Quiet Mate    Chapter Forty-Five

Elara’s POVLilith crumpled to the ground with a thud, blood smearing her cheek, her lips split, and unconscious. No one moved at first.I clenched my fists so tightly my nails threatened to break skin, and my breath became sharp and ragged. My body still buzzed with power, and Nyx—goddess!—she was prowling behind my mind, ready to finish what we started. The only sound I heard at this moment was my shallow breathing and the frantic pounding of my heart against my ribs. My hands were still trembling, the imprint of Lilith's throat vivid against my palm. “She deserves worse,” Nyx growled in my mind. The image from the vision was scorched into my mind, rattling us to our core. Lilith standing over Kieran's dead body didn't sit well with us. It felt like fire in my lungs.“She’s lucky she passed out,” I muttered. “She doesn’t deserve to wake up.”Kieran’s arm came around me, grounding me. “Moya?” he called gently, as if I'll snap any second from now.I turned in his arms, my gaze landin

  • The Alpha's Quiet Mate    Chapter Forty-Four

Kieran's POV I didn’t even have time to blink. One second, Elara was standing there, trembling, her eyes wide and locked on Lilith like she was watching a ghost drag itself from the grave. Her breath hitched, and she clenched her fists. The next second, she launched at Lilith with a sound that didn’t even resemble a growl, it was a raw, feral scream ripped from somewhere deep inside her. “Elara!” I roared, already sprinting forward.Lilith barely had time to react. She stumbled back, caught off guard for the first damn time in her life, but too slow to react as Elara slammed into her, tackling her to the ground. There was a flash of claws followed by a cry of pain. I saw blood.Fenrir surged through me, pumping primal strength into my limbs as I lunged. I wrapped my arms around Elara’s waist and yanked her off Lilith with more force than I’d ever dared to use on her before. She thrashed in my arms, clawing the air, trying to get back to her. Her fingers were bloodied, and her breath

  • The Alpha's Quiet Mate    Chapter Forty-Three

Magnus's POV Now I'm here to take back what's mine. My mate. I was the one who watched her when she didn’t even realize. I was the one who remembered her voice when the world forgot. I am the one meant to stand beside her when her voice eventually returns.I have given Kieran enough time to enjoy, but not anymore, not with them getting closer every single day. That ends tonight. She is mine.Looking at her draped in that red hood, she looked majestic, regal, and almost untouchable, and I wanted to claim her immediately. It was now her turn to drink from the goblet. She lifted the ceremonial goblet, fingers trembling only slightly. Then her lips touched the rim, and she drank the contents. The moment the liquid slid down her throat, her back arched, and she staggered. My whole body went tense, and my wolf slammed forward inside me, snarling. She collapsed to her knees as if something tore through her.“Elara,” I whispered. I took a step forward, pure instinct dragging me toward her. W

  • The Alpha's Quiet Mate    Chapter Forty-Two

Magnus's POV I have been watching her in the shadows since that day, watching if she ever spoke, and soon I wanted to see her every day. I visited Mooncrest Pack every month to see. I watched her grow every year and saw her spend her birthday every year in the attic room crying. On her 12th birthday, I saw her shift for the first time and then get locked up again in the attic after being beaten up by her worthless excuse of a father. Fathers are the worst things in the world; they don't deserve us. It took so much for me not to go in and strangle him right there and then, but I was more angry that she gave up her voice to protect that pathetic male.I wished she would just speak so I would use that as an excuse to kill him and save her, but she never spoke. I decided to marry her when she turned twenty and save her, keep her by my side where no one will ever lay their hands on her, and finally hear her talk.I have imagined how beautiful that day would be.The remaining years flew b

  • The Alpha's Quiet Mate    Chapter Forty

Elara's POV The ceremony began with a howl. Not just one but from the twenty of us.The entire pack stood in the training grounds, transformed for tonight. Crimson ribbons danced in the wind. Fire pits burned low around the perimeter, casting flickers of orange light over the sea of red-hooded figures. It was beautiful and terrifying, all at once. The kind of scene that made your heart beat faster, and your breath catch simultaneously. Each of us raised our faces to the moon and let our wolves speak as we howled again. It was a call to the Moon Goddess. A declaration that we were here, together, as one pack to receive her blessings. The Oracle’s voice cut through the night next, loud and laced with ancient power.“We call upon the Mother. She who bled the moon and bore the wolf. Bless these children of your light. Bring forth their truth.”We all stepped forward. One by one, we were handed goblets by the Oracle’s assistant. The liquid inside shimmered with a strange, dark iridescent
